Cannot see text selection on Mac

Hi,
I cannot see text selection on a paragraph when performed text select by holding 'Shift + Arrow' key or 'Command + A' with Type tool. Sometimes text selection doesn't work. This is happening with Adobe Illustrator CS6 on Mac (Maverick OS). Looks like a bug in Illustrator CS6. Need help in resolving it.

Cannot see text in large PDF file

Hi all,
I've searched Google and these forums, but I have yet to find anything relating to my issue.
I'm trying to view a PDF file, but I cannot see any text in Adobe Reader.
I've viewed it w/ the FoxIt reader, and I can see all text there.
Any idea as to what the problem w/ Adobe reader is?
I have the most up-to-date version of the reader.

ITunes 11.0.1 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit Cannot see text (font does not display)

I have installed the latest version of iTunes on my home PC with Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) 32-bit Home Edition.
I cannot read the text on many iTunes screens/pages due to the font not showing at all.
I have also tried to install the Segoe UI true-type font (and its variant such as bold, italic, etc.) but the problem remains.
Please help.

I have eventually managed to resolve my issue by:
1) Installing "Segoe UI" fonts in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
2) Changing my default colour profile to "sRGB Color Space Profile".
Navigate to My Computer > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color Management.
Click Add button and select sRGB Color Space Profile.icm from the Add Profile Association pop-up window.
Select sRGB Color Space Profile.
Click on the Set as Default button.
Click on Apply, OK, OK.

Cannot see Windows PC on MAC (files or printer)

I am new to MAC and am trying to add new macbooks to a PC network running Vista. Everything is networked via ethernet cable and a router. I have an HP Color Laserjet 2500 hooked up to one of the PCs and downloaded the mac drivers from the internet. The file and printer sharing works fine between the PCs and the PCs can see the MACs but the MACs do not see the PCs. When I try to set up a printer and go to the Windows option, nothing is there to choose. The connection between the computers is there because they can share the internet connection and I pinged from both mac and PC and it was fine. How can I get the MACs to see the PCs and share printers? Please help.

The fax should be treated the same as a printer.
I'm not familiar wit that specific printer, but if it works like most other fax software, you should be able to select print, then instead of sending to the printer proper, you select the fax function from inside the print dialog.
scanning is a different critter altogether - the scanner software may not like (or even recognize, for that matter) scanning to/from IP. I know on our big copiers at work, network scanning takes additional configuration on the copier itself.
Perhaps your printer is similar?

I cannot see text when in a chat session

I started an online class that has chat sessions. I could enter the chat room, but could not see my text or anyone else's. I could see that I had successfully entered the chat room. I was using java applet.

Router cannot see Hyper-V Guest MAC address

I have been trying to build a server on Hyper-V, on a host running Windows Server 2012 R2, and a wireless adapter is used.
A virtual switch was created as external, connected to the host's wireless adapter.
The guest OS is Debian 7, and the problem is it's unable to use DHCP to connect to the internet.
I have to manually specific an IP address and the subnet mask in order to access the internet in the Guest OS, say 192.168.0.50. And I set port forward to this IP for external connection to the guest, but then sometimes I cannot connect; without doing anything
it restores the connection after a while. At the same time I am keeping the MSRDP connection to tthe host so the host has not lost connecting to the internet.
When the server on Guest is not accessible from the web, I can still connect to the server within the host machine by typing the lan IP of the guest: 192.168.0.50
On checking the router, I found that two IP address 192.168.0.50 (Guest OS) and 192.168.0.15 (Host) are sharing the same MAC address (of the wireless card). It means the MAC address of the Guest OS is not seen by the router, and I suppose this is the root
for the instability.
Would you have any ideas about the situation, and suggested solution?

An update to my issue:
Just realized the possible cause: the (freaking) router is dropping inactive machine.
Basically the DHCP issue is not solved, but it doesn't seem to be a cause after all, as long as I manually assign the IP it works, even having the 2 IPs with the same MAC on the ARP table on router. (Host connection drop has to be further investigated).
As I found that the loss of connection actually happens after a while I don't touch the web server on VM, the longer I leave it idle the more likely I cannot connect to it again. The situation is like a prolonged loading when trying to access a website,
where sometimes you can connect after a while, or you never.
What's weird is, if I somehow manage to connect to the idle VM server by multiple attempts, and that after I have restored the connection, I can reconnect to the server from another computer very quickly without any significant loading time.
On some quick searches, I found someone using Linksys router is suffering from a similar situation as I do:

So what I can try are basically 3 ways
-Change the router, not viable as I don't own it.
-Insert a wireless bridge in between
-Do something with Debian, making it periodically generate network request to the internet to keep the connection alive

Apple tv cannot see All libraries on Mac.

After my latest holiday I have put all my photos onto my Mac, I can browse and view them all in iPhoto and have downloaded them to my iPad, but when I try to view them using apple tv, I can see all the other events/folders but the latest holiday event/folder is just not there, spent hours trying to solve it but I am lost.

Make sure you are signed in using the same Apple ID you used to originally download the app with.

Cannot see my shared USB hard disk's connected on my Mac-mini on my Macbook

As you all can see, I'm a Mac user since 1989, i've don't like working on a windows-computer.
But i've got a problem since I'm using Mac os X 10.5. If i try to make a connection with my Macbook pro to my Mac-mini (my Mac-mini has two USB hard disks) i cannot select the USB hard disks. But my WIDOWS computer has no problem to approche these disks???? Can anyone help me????

Hi WillemH777-NL and welcome to the discussion forums.
On the MacMini open system preferences-->sharing
then select 'File Sharing' from the Service column. Then under Shared Folders make sure your 2 usb drives are listed, if not click the + sign and add them.
then click the 'options' button
make sure Share files and folders using AFP is checked
make sure Share file and folders using SMB is checked
Then switch on the names of the users and the mac can use the smb service.
then click Done
Now see if you can access the mini's sharepoints.

Leopard Mac cannot see hard drives on Tiger Macs

Running Leopard 10.5.2 on a Mac Pro 3GHz 4-core w/6GB RAM. I cannot connect to any hard drive / root directory on any Mac on my network running Tiger (10.4.9, .10 or .11) or Panther or OS9. I have 4 Macs on the network but only one running Leopard.
The Mac running LeopardI can connect to the User folder on any Mac running Tiger but cannot see any hard drives' root directory on any Mac running Tiger . No hard drive can be accessed from a User folder even if an alias of the Tiger drive is placed in the ~/User/Public folder.
The reverse works as usual. Any Mac running Tiger can see any hard drive on any networked Mac including Macs running Leopard.
Has anyone else encountered this issue &/or found a workaround? After 2 hours with Apple Tech Support including a system specialist, they confirmed this behavior in Leopard Macs networked to Tiger OS Macs. (Hard drives can be seen between all Macs running Leopard) It was theorized by one of the Apple techs that the behavior was engineered to encourage upgrading all Macs to Leopard. BAD idea! I requested this be reported to Apple engineering.
Any ideas?

Download and read the documentation for Carbon Copy Cloner which is handy and what a lot of us have used over the years to clone, migrate and backup or manage drives and storage.
I think 500GB is overkill for boot drive as most of your apps and OS only need less than 150GB, and all of your data and media and home folders can be anywhere you want and not on the boot drive. Also, Apple way over charges for 2TB drives and no reason or value to do so. That is history now but fwiw.
You could I guess setup one 2TB as boot drive easy enough. Then migrate etc. Make that a backup of everything. Then manually or with CCC or other you can clone just what you want to SSD and to the other 2TB drive.
Apps should always go to the boot drive, the SSD in this case, and not to other locations. No benefit putting them elsewhere.
When you migrate are your files on TimeMachine or just standard files and folders? and can't selectively copy? Honestly never found need to use M.A. more than once probably.

Do you have OS X and OS 9 installed on your Mac? If so, startup with the Option key depressed. This will open the Startup Manager window. Select the OS you want to start from & click the right arrow.

When I am sending a text message, I cannot see the contact telephone number in the To: field. Is there a setting somewhere that I have missed ?
In my previous nokia phones, you can always see the contact name and the number you are using.

1 : Assume that you have entered the different nos. (mobile, Landline, etc)for ONE person under a single Phone book entry..
2 : If you have done the above you will get the pop-up box for selecting the phone no.
3 : When you select the no. from the list you know which one was selected (... and it is not a landline no..)
Then why do you need to see the no. in the 'To' field once again ?
And you can first write the Text message and then add receipients in the 'To' field...
