Cannot see who is calling

My skype is ringing but cannot see who is calling !! any idea, please...

That is definitely strange, devans. How long has it been since the call waiting prompt on the screen stopped appearing? Please try a soft reset by holding down both the power and home keys, simultaneously, until your phone resets on its own. This may help recover this feature. Another thing I would recommend is a Network Settings reset by going to: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. If the issue persists, let us know!

If you see only 'CALL' when you receive a phone then most probably its an Operator issue. Check with your operator whether the Caller ID sevice is active ?

Nokia N8 Can not see who's calling / display won't...

Hi,
I have the problem that when I get a call my phone will ring but there is nothing seen onto the display.
When I use the unlock button on the side of the phone it unlocks and then I can see who's calling and take the call.
When I want to hang-up, the display stays off and I can't hang up. I need to use the button on the side again to activate the display and then hang up.
The same is with the alarm buzzer, I set my phone to wake me up in the morning.
When the alarm goes, I cannot turn it of directly.
I need to unlock the phone again with the button on the side of the phone and then I can press snooze or turn off alarm.
Does anyone has experience with this or has a solution?
It is a Nokia N8 got it now for 3 weeks and has the latest software on it.

If the phone is not functioning correctly, as already suggested, it should be returned to a Nokia Care Centre for repair under warranty !

Upgraded Iphone 4 now can no longer see who is calling while the phone is in use. I hear the beep but see nothing, also does not show in missed call.

If you are no longer getting a notification that there is a second call coming in, contact your carrier. It sounds as if there is an issue with call waiting.

When my conversation group calls i can't see who is the caller. How can you see that?

Btw its only with the new version of skype, with the old version you could see who was calling.

Thank you so very much! My husband is in Afghanistan and calls at different times. If I am on a call and can't answer him it could be days before I hear from him again. I never thought to just restart my phone! Duh...this is my first smartphone so I am learning. All day people were calling while I was on the phone but I couldn't answer. I cannot see who the sender is of emails

while working on my email, I hit something and now have cannot view who the sender of the email is

Are you saying that you are missing the FROM column in the Inbox view? If so there is a small icon at the far right end of the header that you click to select what columns to display.
If you have dragged the FROM column to the left and hid it and now only see 3 dots where that column should be, hover your mouse up where the divider for the FROM and SUBJECT columns are and when you see a double headed arrow appears click and drag to the right to reveal the column.

Can't see who's calling

I have a bb curve 8330. I haven't subscribe to the caller id option, but my other phone could recognizw the name and numbers that were in my address book. Is it possible to see the name and numbers that are registred in the address book even if I haven't subscribe to the caller id option?

There could be any one of three solutions... Try these:
1. Make sure you set your own country code at Phone Dialer Screen > Options > Smart dialing.
Set your country code in this format: "+xx" where xx = your country code. Some countries have two or three digit Country Codes. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* In the US, set this Country Code as "+1", and place your loca area code in the proper box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).
2. At the same location, change the National Number Length to the number of digits for your country (since some countries will have less than 10 as set as the default in the BB). Find out the total digits, minus the country code. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (plus 3 for country code). You would enter "8".
3. You may have "Content Protection" set on your Address Book.
Look at Options > Security > General Settings. Scroll down to Content Protection > Include Address Book = NO.

I do not see who is calling me #bb passport

I have a Blackberry Passport but I have one problem:
why when I get calls I get only the number and not the name of the contact?

Since upgrading from mobile me i cannot see who is in my family pack

So i upgraded to icloud and did not reallise that I had another account for my wife on a family pack. The problem is that she cannot remember what her mobileme address is as I used it on her iphone to backup stuff and it was never used as an email. so now I need to know what it is but since upgrading to icloud I cannot. Any ideas how I can see what accounts I created with my family pack in my old mobileme account?

I have a problem, I just buy an iphone 4, i created a contacts list in my macbook in the contacts app and sync it to the iphone. But when a contact calls me it appears as unknown. What's the problem??? What can I do???

ANY contact? Or one particular contact?
If it's one particular contact, they've either blocked or withheld their number from being sent via caller ID or there is a problem with your carrier, their carrier, or the interchange between the two.
If it's any number, your account is probably not provisioned properly by your carrier. Either way, if a simple re-set as suggested by Eric above doesn't fix it, you're going to need to contact your carrier about the problem.

ANOTHER Step BACKWARDS - NO, You CANNOT SEE Your LOCAL Calling Area ONLINE !!

Why check your LOCAL calling area? TO SAVE Yourself MONEY. If you can check the calling area quickly, you can tell if it will be a TOLL CALL. Sure, this is not an issue depending on your calling plan. It is to a lot of folks like me; and you may be calling from a different phone at times.
Up until at least January 2008 you could EASILY determine your LOCAL CALLING AREA on Verizon's website by entering your phone number. The link WAS
http://www22.verizon.com/CallingAreas/localCallFinder/LocalExchangesList.htm , but NO MORE.
I SUSPECT it was discontinued because Verizon realized that by making a MONEY-SAVING 'device'
easily available was NOT GOOD FOR THE BOTTOM LINE.
I went thru all of Verizon's hoops to get an answer, but they have their roadblocks firmly planted.
Their is A LOT OF JUSTIFICATION for CONSUMER REPORTS to give its highest ratings to Verizon's SERVICES...... WHILE AT THE SAME TIME RATING THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE "DREADFUL".

Nokia 6300 can't see who is calling me

hi, as above, have gone into call settings to try and change this.... nothing there
is this a software issue? i have recently got this phone with orange, i assumed that this is because people have withheld their number but this is not the case.
Can someone please help me regarding this?
