  • I have an photo album on my ipad that I cannot seem to remove. Any ideas how I can do this?

I have an album in Photos that I cannot seem to remove. I have gone through all the usual things on the iPad to delete the album but have no success. I have had my iPad connected to my iMac trying to remove it using iPhoto but I stil can't seem to get it off my iPad. Anyone got any ideas how I can as its chucking up my iPad and I want it off.!
    Thanks.

If the tunes have DRM and they are not from your iTS account then you will need to have the password of the account that purchased the tunes. If the tunes have no DRM then you should be able to play the tunes with no problem.

  • Removing songs from itunes without removing them from ipod

Is it possible to remove songs from iTunes without removing them from iPod? When I attempt to delete songs from iTunes I get a warning that they'll be deleted from iPod as well. I've got Manually manage music and videos checked under Options in the Summary window.

You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
What if the iPod were lost/stolen/needed repair? Again, the music would lost. I strongly recommend a back up, and if computer hard drive space is in short supply, you should seriously consider an external hard drive. They are not expensive, and the cost is well worth it when compared to the loss of all your precious music.
At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See these about backing up media.

To move music from iPod to computer, check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • Error removing data from MDS using WLST

I'm new at MDS so i want to remove some data which I inserted in the wrong structure....sounds quite easy. After some looking around I should be able to do this using a deployment plan and WLST. I chose the last one as I am not realy familiar yet with deployment plans. I connect with my server and started WLST did the following:
    wls:/offline> connect ('weblogic', 'mypassword' , 't3://localhost:8001')
Connecting to t3://localhost:8001 with userid weblogic ...
Successfully connected to managed Server 'soa_server1' that belongs to domain 'MY_DOMAIN'.
Warning: An insecure protocol was used to connect to the
server. To ensure on-the-wire security, the SSL port or
Admin port should be used instead.
    wls:/MY_DOMAIN/serverConfig> deleteMetadata(application='soa-infra', server='soa-server1', docs='/apps/deploy/*')The outcome was:
Location changed to custom tree. This is a writable tree with No root.
    For more help, use help(custom)
and after a while it closed the WLST connection. Can anyone tell me how I can remove data from my repository or what is going wrong here?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I think you were getting this error because you had your server name incorrect : soa-server1 instead of soa_server1. Also it might be possible that soa-infra is installed on the different server.

How remove data from OS X10.8.3 and Safari 6.0.4 beyond Delete or Ctrl Del?
When I had a Windows OS based machine I had to dig deep into the Directory to find everything I wanted to remove as the delete function did not do so.  I don't know if this "digging deeper" action is even necessary in Mac and if it is where I would go in Mac to do so.  Is it?  If so, how?

I appreciate your clarification inquiry request.  My goal was as initially stated, to "find everything I wanted to remove as the delete function did not do so.......if.....digging deeper.....is.....necessary.....and if it is where....go in Mac to do so....(and)...how?"
I have now resolved my data removal inquiry, accomplishing it through use of William Lloyd's post of instructions.

It means iTunes can no longer locate those particular files at the specified location on your PC's hard drive.  So you'll need to search for these track's on your PC and re-import these tracks from their new location.

  • Cannot open nor remove quicktime from my computer

Cannot open nor remove Quicktime from my computer.
Quicxktime is installed but when I try to open a mp3 file using quicktime my Windows installer tells me that Quicktime cannot be found.

Windows installer tells me that Quicktime cannot be found.
Is that the QuickTime.msi that can't be found, robert?
If so, unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing QuickTime again. Does the install go through properly? If so, does your QuickTime Player launch now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • How to import songs AND all the data from iPod to iTunes?

    Hi,
I am looking for a tool that can import more than just the music from iPod to iTunes. I have tried several apps to no avail. (many mentioned in another post here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1576568&tstart=15 )
I "upgraded to iTunes 9", but then my library disappeared the other night. All my music and video files are there intact, but the iTune Library.itl was wiped.
It gets even worse. Not knowing iTunes had lost my iTunes Library.itl content, I accidentally deleted all of the old library files (stored under "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder) and then de-fragmented my computer. So now the ".itl" file cannot be recovered in anyways as every data block on the HDD is overwritten.
Adding the music folders back into iTunes does NOT transfer all the metadata (play count, last played, rating, genre, last skipped, times skipped, track number, comments, artwork, lyrics, etc.). This information is VERY important if you have over 5k songs like I do.
Alas, there is another way to recover my library file. All this metadata information (as well as the music and video files) are available on my classic iPod with its massive hard drive.
The challenge is finding a tool that would transfer the metadata as well. And so far after trying 6 different titles none transfers all the metadata. They all change the "Date Added" field with today's date. The ideal tool needs to keep that field same as it is on the iPod.
These are the ones I tried:
    -iPodAccess
    -CopyTrans
    -iDump
    -PodtoPC
    -TouchCopy09
    -iPodCopy
Does anyone know a tool that would move all the information from my iPod to a new iTunes?
    Thanks

Aniosoft iBackup Pro seems to be very user-friendly, but it's costly though, $40. http://www.aniosoft.com

  • Can't Delete "Other Data" from iPod

I recently used Rhapsody to try and transfer songs to my iPod. Unfortunately, Rhapsody must've transferred the songs in a format that iPod doesn't recognize. How do I remove this "Other" data from my iPod without having to reset it?
    Dell   Windows XP

Do you see the songs in Rhapsody? Surely Rhapsody has a way to remove them. I tried this once but got angry when I couldn't listen to those songs in iTunes. I don't remember there being a problem removeing the songs using iTunes but it was awhile back and I don't remember.
Other than that, try sorting your songs by Kind in iTunes. This will give you nice divisions based on the file type. Another thing you can do is look at your iPod as a hard drive on your computer and see if the files are in there.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot access previous backup data from Time Capsule.

I have had a Time Capsule running for over a year and, from what I can tell, it has been working properly. There have been a few occasions where I have needed to restore old data and was able to do so from a previous backup in Time Machine stored on the Time Capsule.
I noticed last week that my MacMini and iMac were taking an unusually long time to run the routine periodic backup process and never seemed to finish, so I used "Stop Back Up" and attempted to enter Time Machine. When I go to "Enter Time Machine", my Time Capsule mounts and, after what seems like an unusually long time, I finally get the expected Time Machine window to appear.
The problem is that there are no previous backups to access for either computers. It seems like I have lost all my old backup data. Yet, my 1T Time Capsule shows that it is only about 50% full. So it makes me wonder what is on the TC.
It would seem that the data must be on the Time Capsule but for some reason Time Machine cannot locate/access it. I have not altered any preferences nor configurations.
Any ideas as to what may have happened and how to go about fixing it would be greatly appreicated.
    Thank you,
    Marcantonio

It sounds like the backups may be damaged/corrupted.  Repair them per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
