Cannot select "italics" in composing mail on Imac. Using OS X v10.6.8

How do I access the above tool bar

Tried this but cannot select Italic because it is "gray", not black. Also, "Bold", "Underline" and "Outline" are "pale" colored and canot be selected. Called Apple and they helped me create a second account. Tried these functions on that account and they worked! Apple suggested I reinstall Mail on my Imac, which I will do if I can find the disc.

One more time, iCloud mail accounts are .me, .mac and .icloud. New ones are only .icloud.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account that can be used with any mail client in existence. But You are talking about the ability to automatically setup an iCloud account in mail, which did not exist until 10.7.2.
You can use password or token authentification with iCloud mail (in Mail) it is your choice.
Set the account manually, set it as Imap, use imap.mail.me.com (no P number) for the incoming email and smtp.mail.me.com as the outgoing server.
The full settings (ports and security) are here. Use them and it will work, regardless of domain (mac, me and icloud addresses all use the same settings.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
Server name: imap.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes

Cannot select output tray on a stapler stacker using universal print drivers

With universal print derivers 5.2, we cannot select output tray for print job on a stapler stacker. All jobs are set to automatic output and only uses the lower tray, not other trays.

Cannot enter new events in ical on imac using 10.7.5

Ok, I am reading A LOT of issues with Mavericks. I am tempted toi go back to lion or snow leapord. This is shameful on Apple's part. Safari is unuseable. hard drives drop on setstart
And now I cannot connect my apple track pad. No matter what I do, It will not connect. I have read re-installing the OS will work, which means I have to re-install everytghing. Not happy. At this rate I might as well run windows 8.

um... having to update most of the system software is still incredibly time consuming, and I already did it once. Problem persists. Mavericks is fail. Period. The ONLY thing that made paying the premium for a mac WAS the OS. Now? Taking this heap back tomorrow and getting a PC. If I have to trouble shoot this much it would be better if I save money and can play games. Apparently with the death of Jobs so to does the OS die.

AnyConnect 3.1.05152 Cannot Select Group

I have recently upgraded to 3.1.05152 of the anyconnect client and we now have an issue when trying to select a group, the client just refreshes back to the top group. If you have upgraded from an older version any groups that you have used before to connect will work but you cannot select an option that you have not used before.
ASA Version is 8.4(2)

Not yet, I have tried different java versions/making sure tunnel lock isn't on/administrator rights. Next step is remove all java and anyconnect software and fresh install. If we install an older version and connect and then let the firewall update to the latest version, then we can use the group we selected originally to connect but cannot choose any other group. If just install the latest version it just defaults back to the top option.

Not sure why it would default to IMAP? But any how, start the account anew, fill in the first page of info, but before clicking on the Create button, hold down the Option key until the Create button changes to read Continue. Click continue, and proceed in a more manual process during which you can set the account type as POP.

I cannot send gmail emails from Mail on my IMac.

I cannot send emails from Mail on my iMac using gmail. I get the following error message:
The SMTP server “relay.gradwell.net” rejected the password for user “succeed”
Neither of these have anything to do with my username or password, which I have checked are correctly entered in Accounts.

Cannot select text in mail

I am using Mail in Yosemite. In both new and replying to emails I cannot select the text. Do I need to turn some kind of protection off? This has happened since the last update of Yosemite on 22 April.

From my experience, it depends on the web page. Snopes, for example, uses a java script that preventes one from selecting text, and that initially fooled me into thinking that aplplied to all pages in Safari 5.1. Not so; I can select text in other pages.
David Kirk at Tech Recipes suggested this override on this particular kind of java script:
"... just past the following into the address bar of your browser and press ENTER:
javascript:void(document.onselectstart=null)
Worked swell for me.

How do you add pictograph favorites to font selection when composing mail messages?

I located the desired symbols from the "Characters" selection when I chose the Format menu and opened the gear symbol on the bottom lefthand of the pulldown menu. Now I do not understand how to place these "Favorite" symbols I identified placed into my Font selection for easy access or use when composing mail messages.

Unable to open "compose mail/settings/contacts" in standard view in 2 out of 3 Gmail accounts. When "compose new mail" is selected "loading...." appears at the top then the page is frozen. ie you can't select inbox etc. Changing from standard to basic h/ml then clears the Loading... and gmail can be used (without spellcheck etc).
This might not be Mozilla, but I can access these accounts in standard view on another computer.

Your Gmail account may well be an IMAP account, just like the iCloud mail account. In which case it will work in just the same way as iCloud mail, except that you will have to set it up manually on each device, where as iCloud mail adds the account itself when you log into iCloud.
Whilst it works the same as iCloud mail it isn't iCloud that syncs it for you.

Cannot email photos from iPhoto on new iMac mountain lion

I have a pop account for my mail. When I got the new computer with iCloud, I had to have my pop mail forwarded to my iCloud account. That all works fine. But I cannot select a few photos in iphoto and click on 'send' for either the pop or the icloud accounts. I get a message that I am not connected to the internet (which I am) and to try again later. I have spoken with tech support at Roadrunner, my pop account, and we have checked that all settings are correct. He thinks the problem must be with iCloud. Any ideas?

If you are using iPhoto try going into the preferences and the click accounts to make sure you email account is setup correctly.
