Cannot select photos, greyed out on my PC

I have a Windows 7 Home Acer laptop. I now have icloud 3.0 installed and I can no longer select photos as the selection is greyed out.
I have tried to reinstall option over existing, then I tried to remove and then reinstall again. Same issue.

and tried to fix as they did but didnt work for me so I just reinstalled 2.0. Everything works fine now.

DVD Rom Photos greyed out

I have burnt a disk with DVD-Rom content but I cannot access the photographs because on the disk as they are greyed out. The content folder allows me to the photos but as I say the photos are greyed out.
The disk is DVD-RW.

Not 100% certain but you may have a media issue and/or burn speed issue.
Did you try making a disc image first (from the file menu)?
If not, try it and then use apple's dvd player app to test proper playback and content.
When you get ready to burn to DVD-R or DVD-RW make sure to lower the burn speed with apple's disc utilities / toast to 2x or lower.
For troubleshooting and while on this forum please use only Verbatim / Maxell.

Selection Steps greyed out for a Union Query - OBIEE 11g

Hello,
I did some research and could not find possible solution/explanation for the issue I am facing.
For one of the report which is based on Union of 3 queries in OBIEE 11g, I recently added a calculated item which now I would like to remove. The best way to achieve this was by removing respective step in selection steps.
However I could not see complete list of steps in this Union report and also cannot modify or remove the selection step for calculated item (2 below). Also Selection steps on task bar is by default greyed out
Below is what I see when I select selection steps
1. Start with all members
2. Then Add Average
Any ideas or workaround.

Rebate condition in rebate agreement cannot be maintained (greyed out)

Hi.
We have setup rebate processing in CRM 7.0.
We get our invoice to the billing due list and it fills then the extract. But we fail in setting up the rebate agreemnt in the webui.
Partner and material are entered. On the position (material) we try to add one of the conditions of the maintenance group we customized. Both condition types can be selected but none of them will work.
What happens: we click on "new" select the condition type and get then presented with the view but with all fields greyed out (as in display mode).
As there are a lot of obligatory fields we get up to 8 messages. After "fill in required entry fields" it says "maintain rebate material".
Whatever that means.
The material we use is a finished product.
Has somebody ever seen this or some idea. Couldn't find oss messages on this.

Hi Klaas,
If I remember well, in the standard price determination there is a conditional formula that only shows rebate conditions in the invoice, therefore you should not see rebate conditions in the sales order.
That is standard functionality.
For a Customer I took out the formula condition in the pricing so he could actually see the rebate condition in the sales order, the reason was to had access to this information before end of month invoicing. The problem is that in case of changes in rebate agreement or in case of retrospective agreements the rebate condition is only updated in the invoice, not in the sales order.

Select option greyed out for fields of custom DataSource (rso2, rsa6)

Why are several fields, in my custom DataSource (created in rso2) not available for select?
I do not think this is a permission issue, since several fields are selectable, but not all fields.
It is not the data type, since I see other custom DataSources that have the same data type, and it is selectable as a select option.
This is not a DataSource that was provided by SAP, it is completely custom, and uses a custom data definition (defined as a structure via se11), and a custom function.
I have read the responses to similar questions, but have not found an answer that explains how to make the field selectable for select.
What determines which fields can be selected for selection, and which fields have this option greyed out (not selectable)?
I have come across multiple answers, for similar questions, that suggest an abap program to directly update table roosfield.
Is this safe?
IF I choose this route will I need to run the update program on production, or will the change it makes to my dataSource transport with my transport?
(I can test this).
What I most need to know is If this suggestion is safe, or if it has side effects?

Cannot select photo events with iPhone anymore with new upgrade - can we only use the cloud now?

I used to be able to select events from iPhoto that I wanted to appear in my phone. I cannot use photo stream for various reasons. The last time I synced my iPhone it would not allow me to select any events at all, but only reverted to the recent photo stream ONLY. Which means that none of my old photos can now be found on my iPhone. I hate this - I want some of my old photos. Why can't I select my old events? Please help!

Okay, here's the sequence that 'may' help explain; 1st- My son got an Iphone 4 & wanted to buy songs, etc., so I added his phone to my Itunes acct..--he consequently signs on under my email address (my Apple ID) & my PW. No problem then, it had/has listed ex. Mom's Iphone & Son's Iphone (mine is a 4s, don't think that makes a difference- except in telling u that Siri doesn't work properly now either & refers to my son's name now instead of mine!) As far as I can tell, the real problems began with the ICloud settings on our Iphones--meaning the settings on 'where' to back our phone's- ICloud or to the Laptop (both phones back up to the same laptop.) It's so complicated I can hardly explain it, so sorry if I'm bouncing around! I did not mean to or rather it was not an intentional decision to use the same ICloud, however since we share the same comp. and Itunes account, and basically passwords--it somehow happened. I don't know how to undo this mess! Last night I went to ICloud.com & was able to sign on with my son's @me.com user ID & our Itunes PW (aka-Apple ID.) It really didn't do anything except show me Iphone features, ex. Contacts, Ibook, etc.. I did 'not' see a place where I could change any settings, like to possibly change his Apple ID, or pw...that's all I can think of to change? And even with that I'm not sure how to do that...he's 14, a minor--so he has to be under my settings to a degree. Don't mind at all having seperate ID's, but we do share "some" music and app's for example. Is any of this making sense or even partially explaining my problems? Thank you in advance!

Creating Smart Albm - keywords selection is greyed out

Hi,
I have about 4000 photos and 15 or so keywords in my aperture library. keywords can be viewed in the Keywords HUD and also in the metadata panes, so they exist.
When I create a smart album, the settings window allows me to filter on ratings and calendar, the next option "Keywords" is greyed out.
Any ideas?

I had this exact problem yesterday.
As it turns out, in my case, Smart Album (SA) cares about where it is created. In other words, I had created SA in an empty folder with the expectation that it would pickup keywords globally. Instead, it was only looking for keywords within the project/folder that SA is a child to - images were imported into a project different than SA is located.
To correct the problem, I had to create SA at the top level by associating to Library itself and all the keywords showed up as being available. I believe this is a feature rather than a bug, so that one can control how SA behaves in a project or globally.
If your situation is similar try creating SA at the highest level of what you are interested in to include all the data of interest.

Upload failure. Lost important photos - greyed out subfolder

Uploaded many photos but it created a greyed out subfolder with no photos behind. Nothing in iphoto, recovered file. The subfolder created by date shows a palm tree in grey but nothing behind. How can I recover these photos.

iPhoto doesn't create folders or sub-folders unless you tell it. So I'm not sure I understand what you're asking here.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Cannot select signature (grayed out) in Apple Mail

Okay - so I'm a bit confused. In Apple Mail, I go to prefs>Signature. I select the account and I see a signature next I want to use in the box to the right. But when i create a new email the signature does not show up. Then I go back to Prefs and again select the account and this time I want to use the drop down "Choose Signature" bu it is grayed out. Any suggestions on how to have my signature automatically appear like it had been for years. I don't know what changed?

You need to ensure the signature is assigned to an account. For examle I have an iCloud and an Exchange Account. Select the account you want to add the signature and then the "Choose Signature" selection should no longer be greyed out.
If you have a signatures when "All Signatures" is selected but all your account list "0 Signature" you can click and drag the signature to the proper account. Than you should be able to do the above.

Help! I need to change QMaster from working with 1 processor to 4, but the option to change it is greyed out.

I noticed you where using FCP 5.
Make sure Qmaster 2 is updated by the way. But to reassure you of your question, they have corrected? this in FCP 6 with Qmaster 3.
However, if you open your "Activity Monitor" under your Utilties folder in your Application folder, you will find when you double click on the processor window it will maximize and show all processors activities. You should see if Qmaster is running right, all processors working anyway.
Not sure, why they grayed out 2.3.1, and opened it up in 3.
There are theories, on the net as well as legitimate testing that describes processor to ram ratios.
FCP (Compressor) runs better on a 8 core system with 4 cores("instances" in Qmaster Prefs) than all 8 running.

BUT in your situation, you are fine. There are some ways I believe in Qmaster 2.3.1 to change the scripting to adjust processor distribution, but thats beyond me.

Cannot sync (sync greyed out in iTunes, and unavailable on iTunes).

I can't sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes (on a Windows XP computer). Both are the latest versions (I had 10.6 iTunes which itunes told me was the latest, and discovered 11 is available which I believe I downloaded, both of which had the same problem). The sync button is greyed out in iTunes. I've tried wi-fi and cable syncs...neither of which has worked.
This seems to be a common problem, I've seen forum postings on this subject going back to 2011, and as recent as a few days ago, and still no solutions presented. I've spent hours over the last week and this weekend looking for a solution.

Just in case anyone has the same problem and stumbles upon my unanswered thread, I found a work-around. Not sure if step 1 is necessary, but its the path I took.
1. Reset your iPhone (from off, hold down on button with home for 10 secs, then continue holding home) and follow prompts for resetting in iTunes. Note, this will wipe out your apps, some of which I paid for...not sure if they're gone forever...
2. Download 3rd party program "MediaMonkey". I know, its ghetto, but whatever works. MediaMonkey is essentially a 3p iTunes.
3. MediaMonkey will find and load your iTunes material saved to your PC/Mac.
4. Sync in MediaMonkey. Fairly userfriendly/obvious how to do this.

HT4906 I cannot select photo stream on my imac

how can I turn on photo stream on my iMac. I can get to the screen that should allow me to select but cannot click on it.

Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane. Then log back in and re-enable, respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
If that doesn't work do the following and then repeat the above: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Cannot select photos from albums for screensaver since upgrade to Tiger.

Since upgrading my G4 to Tiger, screensaver will only work with Photo Library, Last Row, and Last 12 months folders. I can no longer select my own albums I have created in iPhoto. When I do select my own albums, the screensaver selects from Photo Library. Screensaver will work with the Last Row and last 12 month albums. This is kind of frustrating. Not too pleased with Tiger and would reinstall Panther in a heartbeat if I could figure out how to do it.

Cannot select photos to attach

Recently while trying to attach photos on facebook I wasn't able to select the photo(s) from my iPhoto. I've search forums on a solution with no such luck. Now I notice I can't select them when trying to attach to an email also. I can go into each one (gmail or facebook) click "attach file/photo", my iPhoto comes up, it just won't highlight the photo to allow me to "choose" it. Any solutions?

What version of iPhoto? How are you trying to attach (the correct way is to use the browser attach command and go to the left column toward the bottom under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto and select the photo -- How to Access Files in iPhoto )
