Cannot select stroke control or swatch panel

I created a line (stroke). I am following along with the Pluralist Brochrue creation video tutorial. I cannot click on the stroke weight options in the toolbar, I cannot select or make changes to the swatch panel options, even though the line is selected. Any ideas?

That's the sort of thing, if it happens in many files, that would indicate corrupt preferences. For that see Replace Your Preferences
If it's only this file, check to see if the object is locked (not likely if you are able to select it) and also see Remove minor corruption by exporting

I create a PO but i cannot select conf.control in it. This field is display only now.
But i have set it Reqd.entry in customizing and it didn't change to Reqd.entry .

Hi King,
First, Check your PO -document type ( NB , FO etc )
Second corrosponding document type check the name of field selection key which they have maintained by the selected PO document type.
Third, Goto Define screen layout at document level - Selec the field selection group as NBF - Select the selection group as " Deadline monitoring" - There choose confirmation control key field name as Required Entry.
Check in your selected document type- Confirmation is required entry field now.
Based on that setting in PO this following error message will be populate
Please enter Conf. control
Message no. ME 083

Just a bit more control over Swatches panel...

"Select All Unused" - great command, "Add Unnamed Colors" - sometimes also useful, but shouldn't you expect "Hide Unnamed Colors" too?
And couple of things I really miss here:
"Find Duplicates" and "Sort by...". I always try "to keep things clean and simple" as much as possible, unfortunately, sometimes I get files from other designers with a real mess there... and in a Swatches panel too. Hundreds of colors, dozens of duplicates, some of them obvious, some - not. Everything scattered here and there, and... no way to get things a bit more organized.
Well, no more words: just look at the Links panel and its options! Things are much better here...

I agree. I like Illustrator's option of being able to sort my swatches myself with color groups. I too have the annoyance of having everyone else's swatches mixed in with mine when I syncronize my book documents. I just have to be sure to name all my colors. Having the swatches panel be more like Illustrator would be a big help in keeping things "clean and simple".

Cannot select boxes on flash storage panel?

I have just downloaded Linux Mint 17 and cannot get the flash plugin to work on the firefox browser. Linux Mint 16 works fine and Windows 7 works fine on the very same PC. The Flash storage panel on the link will not allow me to check any boxes.Is there a solution to this problem as I would rather run the newer version of Linux?

Cannot access all controls within a panel

I have a panel that I can only access the controls in the top 2/3 of the panel......the bottom thirds has EDITBOXES in it, but I cannot access them. It's as if they do not exist ?

I've never heard of anything like that. I can't imagine there'd be anything in the code that bases item access on geometry though. I suspect you've got something busted somewhere that's causing weird behaviour.

Swatch panel colouring stroke

I cannot figure out why when I click on an object and attempt to change the fill colour in the swatch panel Illustrator colours the stroke and not the fill.

Because the stroke is in the foreground? What happens if you tap the x key then try a color?

From iCloud Control Panel 2.1.1 for Windows
"iCloud Control Panel 2.1 and later includes support for Windows 8"
but you still need to set it up on a Mac or iOS device, "Note: To create an iCloud account you need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later."

A Control in a panel sometimes cannot show

In my panel, there are some tables using Zplane to arrange, there is another control, a ring control in the panel, when loading and display panel, sometimes the ring control can be displayed, sometimes it can not be displayed, but I can see an imprint of the ring. In this case, is there a way to redraw the panel or the control?

This is a big project, it is difficult to get the all code phase. Just simplly describe the architecture of the app. as follows:
Arragged some picture button in the main panel, using RunUserInterface () to maintain the running and events. all of the panel color are (R:49, G:55, B:38). Of course, in the main function initializing stage, it will also do some works such as spawn threads, install control callback etc. Then the app run a monitor process in a child panel and wait user interact. PS---All the child panels' style is the classic, hidden mode. Once user pressed a button (picture button) in the main frame panel, it will load the relative child panel. In the child panel, it is placed a table, a ring and a tree control using UIR editor. The child panel will be manipulated by the main function, so it just returns its panel handle to the main panel, but not using RunUserInterface() individually. The Pseudo-code can be this:

My Illustrator does not allow me to change colors using swatches panel. Help pleas.

Few days ago I started having strange problems with my Illustrator CS5 application. I am using MacBook Pro with Intel Processor. After major update on the Mac OS few days ago I noticed I can not change colors in my drawings using swatches panel. The function on my Illustrator CS5 stopped working. When I select object and try to change its fill or stroke color using fill and stroke from the options bar above work space, none of the swatches would work. The are there how ever nothing hapends when I select them, the color remains the same.The same thing happens if I try to use the swatch panel, I select the object then I try to select new color from swatch but the fill or stroke does not change. I can only change color on my drawings using the color panel but that is not useful for me since I need to get precise colors using approved color swatches ether from pantone library or approved by client.
The other strange thing is my selection tool does not deselect when I click outside on or of the artboard, the object remains selected until I reselect another object or use the keyboard short cut to deselect it.
I have tried various options to resolve the issue from deleting and reseting preference to completely uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator CS5. I even installed back my old CS4 version because I had to complete a project and the same issue is happens there as well. I also reset the application using Time Machine from few months ago when it was working correctly. What happens when I reset or reinstall the app, it works for about 10 min correctly as it should and and then it reverts to the same problem. I am out of options and do not know what else I could do to fix this. Right now I am working on my old Mac tower G5 and CS4 where everything works as it is suppose to, but I really need to get this fixed. Can any one help or has solution for my problem? Please.

Cannot select a 1600 x 900 resolution

I am using Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit on an mid 2011 iMac via BootCamp; the problem is that i cannot select the 1600x900 screen resolution, as it is not available as an option at the Control Panel menu. I have reinstalled the windows support software, installed drivers directly from the ATI's site (both for desktop and notebook use) but the above resolution is not available. When i boot into Mac OS X, the 1600 x 900 resolution is available and is the one selected. Any suggestion is welcomed.

I suggest re-asking/reposting this in the Bootcamp forum. It is a Windows issue, not a Lion issue.

LabVIEW 2010 SP1: "Controls" pop-up palette "Select a control..." bug?

I'm using LabVIEW 2010 SP1 (32-bit) and I noticed today that I cannot place my custom controls on a VI's front panel when I use the "Select a Control..." option on the "Controls" pop-up palette. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this same problem?
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1) Create a custom control, or download/save the attached custom control "Machine State.ctl" (< a strictly-typed enum control).
2) Open a VI (new or existing).
2.1) If the "Controls" palette is visible (pinned open), close it.
3) Right-click with the mouse on the VI's front panel window to display the "Controls" pop-up palette.
Note: DO NOT use the "Controls" option in the "View" menu here.
Note: DO NOT pin open the Controls pop-up palette at this point.
See my comments below in the "Notes" section.
4) "Controls" palette > "Select a Control..." option
5) Using the "Select the Control to Open" dialog, browse to, select and open the custom control file (e.g., "Machine State.ctl").
At this point the on-screen cursor should show the outline of an instance of the custom control I just opened, but for me that doesn't happen; all I see is the "+" crosshair cursor, and left-clicking with the mouse on the front panel does not place an instance of the custom control on the front panel.
Notes:
* In step 3) above, if I open the VI's "View" menu and select the "Controls" option, or if I pop-up the "Controls" palette and pin the palette to keep it open, I can successfully use the "Select a Control..." option to browse to, select, open, and place an instance of my custom control on the VI's front panel. The failure only occurs when I use the "Select a Control..." option on the pop-up (unpinned) version of the Controls palette.
* I can successfully drag-and-drop an instance of a custom control onto a VI's front panel from a Windows Explorer window, or from the LabVIEW project explorer window.
* The host computer is running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 w/ SP1.

Just now I tried creating and using controls on five different computers, each running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 w/ SP1.
On three of the systems the problem did not occur; I was able to place a user-defined control on the front panel using the "Select a control..." option on the controls palette.
On two of the systems the problem still occurs. Upon further investigation, however, I learned that the hard drives in these two systems were cloned from a "master" hard drive image the IT department created. So I'm guessing there's some bad mojo on the master hard drive image, and that's what's caused this problem to show up on these two systems (and others).
So for now, I'm just going to put up with having to use the old "drag-and-drop" method for placing user-defined controls on the VIs. Thanks for your feedback and assistance with this.

Cannot select/delete indicators

I have two indications, a text box and a slider (progress bar) that are on my front panel that I cannot delete. These two indicators used to be on the front panel itself but I moved them onto a tab control a couple of weeks ago. Today I went to move them and I cannot select or delete them. If I select them from the block diagram and hit delete, nothing happes -- no warning, no error, no delete! If I double click on the indicators on the front panel, the tab terminal is highlighted on the block diagram.
Any thoughts on how to delete these things?

Funny you should mention that -- I just created a copy of the VI where I deleted everything from the application except for the two indicators and the tab control. I saved the VI, close it, and re-opened it. In this copy I can now select and delete the indicators.
I cannot delete these from the block diagram still. I noticed that I have the two indicators grouped together; this prevents deleting from the block diagram. I'm going to see if I can ungroup them from my original app.
The indicators are in a specific tab.

Illustrator collapses swatch panel?

Hi guys,
I have an issue with Illustrator CS6, running on 10.6.8...
I'll have an object selected, and I'll be using my Swatches panel to edit the colour of the object's fill, let's say. Then I will want to edit the colour of the stroke – as soon as I hit the stroke square in my toolbox, the Swatches panel disappears and the Color panel jumps out instead. I have to close the Color panel, and then reopen the Swatches every single time.
Workspace: "Essentials"
I don't have the Auto Collapse Iconic Panels on...

Focus always switches back to colors. You owudl have to not use auto collapse, or minimize as example below.
(moved swatches and colors over to the left to snap as a 2nd column)
