Cannot send any mail!

Hi. After switching to Leopard we noticed that ALL of our e-mail accounts are now offline when it comes to sending mail. We can receive mail just fine, but each and every SMTP says 'OFFLINE' when we try to send mail. We have many accounts, possibly over 30, and most are from a different company. We've checked and re-checked all of our settings and they all appear to be correct. What else could be causing this?

Sheesh... I got my new iMac for Christmas, ran into this 'can't send mail' issue a week or so ago and STILL no answer on how to fix this!!!
What is the DEAL??? I have done everything that everyone has suggested but with NO results. My iMac will occasionally, as it decides to do so, but for the most part, will not send and says my server is 'Off Line"!!!
I've booted, rebooted, tried every port number, changed settings from automatic to manual, etc, etc, etc... no luck.
I LOVE this machine but this mail thing with Leopard is really making me frustrated. I'm tired of being on the phone and I'm tired of trying to get it fixed.
Where is Apple with this???

If you are prompted for a password when sending messages with this account, this indicates the SMTP server used with this account is authenticated.
If so, try running Keychain First Aid on your Login Keychain via Keychain Access.
If no problems are found and repaired or this doesn't resolve the problem, try the following:
If any unsuccessfully sent messages remain in the Outbox, transfer these messages to the account's Drafts mailbox.
Quit Mail and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes > Outbox.mbox. Delete the Outbox.mbox folder and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Outbox.mbox folder will be recreated automatically by Mail within the Mailboxes folder.
Test if this resolves the problem.

It doesn't seem to cover your specific issue, but have you tried using a different network (either a different wi-fi network, or switching from wi-fi to cellular or vice-versa if you have a wi-fi+cellular iPad)?
For GMail, iCloud and Yahoo, copies of messages are stored on their respective servers, so you could try deleting the account on your iPad, then re-adding each account one at a time to see if that resolves the issue.

I can log on icloud on pc but when i enter password on my ipad mini first gen with ios8 it tells me wrong password. and i can receive mail but cannot send any mail via icloud, gmail, yahoo never had to set this up with ios7. how do i resolve this?

I updated my ipad mini first gen 32gig (4.3gig free) to run ios8 8.0(12A365) and i have a problem sending emails. i can receive mail but when i send it fails. my dropbox works fine, safari, and other apps work fine on the internet just the receiving of mail. I cannot send any Mails anymore.

I use a cloud account. For some reasons I have had some issues with my smtp acount. I consider to delete and reinstall the account from the Schach. However I do not want to delete my subfolders and documents in my inbox. How can I avoid that or any other ideas how I can get this Topics Running? Thx, gdrei

Cannot send any mail in Mail 4.2

The little thinking wheel just spins for about 20 minutes then I get a 'cannot connect' message, for both my accounts. It was working fine for a while (if a little mind-numbingly slow) but it's suddenly stopped working. I've tried deleting the accounts and starting again but that doesn't work. Please help, it's really starting to annoy me, outlook was better than this and outlook *****.

Cannot send from mail

I am using 10.4.7 and i cannot send any mail from mail program. No problem sending with Entourage (settings are the same). Also, when I type in a message in Mail, as soon as i type a space, i cannot add anything after that - strange.

You haven't set up the SMTP (outgoing) mail server correctly. You probably didn't enter your user ID and password for the outgoing server. They are needed even though it says "optional".

reset the device?
delete and re-add the accounts?

We had broadband with BT and I had no problem sending e-mails. We then changed to TalkTalk and I cannot send any e-mails and do not understand why. can anyone help? We are not techy at all and struggle when things go wrong.

We used to have BT as our broadband provider and then switched to Talk Talk. Since the switch we cannot send e mails although we are receiving them on the old address. We don't understand what has gone wrong. Can anyone help?

You need to contact T-T and find out their SMTP settings ( which allows the sending of emails over wifi via your ISP) This info is probably on their website
I assume you do not have a 3G iPad .In which case go to the Apple site
