Cannot send email anymore from IPad Air

Thanks. I got the problem fixed. Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor. It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner. Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail. I checked all the specifics between the three units. It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com to TWC.com. Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

TS3899 Cannot send emails anymore since getting the 5s
I have just upgraded to the 5s from 4s and I cannot send emails anymore although I can receive them. My email account still works on my ipad. I have deleted the account a few times and reset the phone completely but still no joy. Any ideas what to do next?
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Your Account > Account Name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and enter your email account and password. Make sure things are filled in properly.

Cannot send email on Wifi iPad
Four months of trying, and I still cannot send email, either from home or work.
Set up new account via iPad; I never sync mail accounts, I only use iPad Mail for outgoing.
I had four outgoing emails in my Outbox. Today I deleted all SMPTE servers, and changed the Primary SMPTE to my work outgoing email server. Then, one of the four emails was actually sent -- but it won't send the others reporting it cannot connect to the SMPTE server.
I am using the same outgoing SMPTE server as my iPhone and iMac and both can send via wifi with no problem. It is just the iPad that can't send.
If it sent one successfully, why can't it send the other three?Last Chance Rand wrote:

My guess is that your ISP blocks the outgoing servers. You might have to set up a port on your SMPT server, or use the ISP's outgoing server. We'd need more info to help you out. -
Just upgraded to Lion an am discovering that I cannot send email photos from within iPhoto. Error message says bad Internet connection or server not working, when that's not the case. Never happened in Snow Leopard! Help!!!

I cannot send email on my iPad
Hi, I'm using ios5 on a 32gb wifi ipad2.
Before upgrading my brand new iPad from ios4.xxx I was sending emails fine. Now the iPad email app will show sending...for ages then a message will appear saying; could not send mail. Smtp server for xxxx could not be verified....or something along those lines. This is the same email account that I use on my iMac without any issues.
The email account causing me problems was synced from my iMac using iTunes originally and I have not made any changes to any settings that came over from the iMac.
Since the problem arose, I have trawled the net looking for fixes. I've tried erasing and resetting the iPad. That is both partial and total erase and reset. Neither fixed the problem.
I have also tried various wifi networks around town to verify the issue. I do not think it is a wifi issue or my own wifi settings.
I have tried re-entering my mail accounts settings manually but that did not fix it either.
Has anyone had or is having this issue with ios5? Has anyone found a fix?
It is a deal breaker for me and I am considering send this thing back.
Thank in advance
ToninoHey rbrylawski, just wanted to let you know that my ipad email problems have been solved. Called Apple Sup in OZ, I'm in NZ. Daniel Barber was the support tech from heaven!! I was about to return the ipad but solving this issue reset my faith in phone support.....perhaps until I call a differnet companys phone support eh? Anyhow, for reference the fix is below. My accounts are all POP not IMAP, and the primary smtp server setting had defaulted to have SSL switched on and the port was set to 5XX (something, cant remember). Anyhow, SSL was switched off and the port was swithced to 25. VOILÀ!! Settings/Mail, contacts, calendars/My POP mail account/smtp/primary server/ >>> server on, no username and password, use SSL off, no authentication, Server Port 25 Thanks for having a crack at it. This might help when assisting another user. Cheers Tonino

Cannot send email out from macbook pro?
cannot send out emails, connection status is all green
This is something very normal for Mac Mail. All of a sudden it will stop either sending or receiving emails for no reason.
It has nothing to do with your router or your ISP or your settings in Mac Mail.
If you do a search of these forum you will see this is a common problem with Mac Mail.
Do yourself a BIG favor and switch to an Email program that actually works, any other email program. -
How do I send email messages when out of my wireless home computer?
I want to make sure I'm understanding you clearly:
When trying to send emails over your iPhone's 3G connection emails will not send, correct?
If I have understood it correctly then try the steps found in this article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3780
Sometimes the cellular antennas in the iPhone just need a good reset.
Let us know if this works for you. -
Cannot send email links from Safari share button in iOS8
Hi All:
This is a new one for, and not something I have experienced since link sharing was introduced. I am running iOS 8.1.1 on my iPhone 6. When I find a web page I want to share in Safari, I tap the Share icon, and the share sheet comes up. I select Mail, and a pre-populated email sheet appears. I can type text in the Message or Subject fields, but if I try to select a different sender address or enter a recipient address, the email message simply disappears. it's not in Mail trash or Drafts. It's just gone. This does not happen with my iPad mini 3 at all. Also does not happen on any of my family members' phones.
Obviously, I can Select,Copy,Paste the link into a manual email message. But sharing a link via email does not work in my phone. Any ideas besides a restore?
TIA!In Mail, select Mail > Preferences > General > Default email reader: Mail 5.2

Old but new Q: Cannot send email from Mac Mail application but computer tells me I'm online
I know this is an "old" issue for many, but I cannot find the solution to my problem.
A couple of months ago I moved to a new flat--suddenly I could not send emails anymore from my Mac Mail app, although I could receive them. I called Comcast, my Internet provider, who said it was my email server's problem. My email server is icloud, so I talked to a Mac tech guy who did remote desktop troubleshooting and said everything was set up correctly, etc., so I will have to talk to Comcast again. I called Comcast again and they told me again, it is not their issue.
So this is what happens: When I try to send an email, I get the spinning circle in the mailbox bar, and then it tells me after five minutes of spinning that icloud is offline. However, when I do a further check of the diagnostics, the light is green and says that yes, in fact I am connected/online. Note: I can send and receive fine on webmail, but I do not want to keep using webmail at home. It is very inconvenient.
I called Mac support again, and they told me I should find my solution online; otherwise, I can pay $20 to have someone remotely troubleshoot for me. Of course, I could not find the answer online. I am quite frustrated and annoyed at this point. Is it a port issue? Is it an OS issue? Mind you, I only have this problem at home, nowhere else. I take my laptop to a café, to a friend's place--I can send emails just fine. This leads me to believe that it's a Comcast issue, although they deny it.
Any thoughts would be deeply, deeply appreciated! Thank you!!How about some free much-needed advice on how I can
start receiving emails again!
This indicates you were able to receive email with
your Verizon account previously with the Mail.app?
If so, try running Keychain First Aid on your login
Keychain.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=151548
Open Keychain Access, located in
Applications/Utilities.
Choose Window > Keychain First Aid.
Select your login Keychain, enter your password,
select Repair and then Start.
This is Trevor from the first post and I figured it out:
Go into mail - preferences - and delete the email account in question - the window will tell you that you'll lose all your saved mail, etc - you can save it if you like.
Then click on yes and you create a new mail account using your same incoming/outgoing settings. And, like magic, it works!
Try it - and if you want to save any mail before deleting your affected account, do it.
All the best!

Since Sept 15, 2013 I cannot send emails, but I can send them
I am on a Norwegian cargo ship off the coast of Norway. It has Wi-Fi, but I cannot send emails using my iPad. I understand that Verizon has had big problems recently. I cannot phone Verizon for advice, and if the problem is Verizon's fault, I do not want to change my settings. Can anyone advise me how to fix the problem? Very frustrating and I have not been able to reach technical support using my Safari browser.

Not sure where the previous poster's setting come from but certainly are different to what I use also I have to ssume you are using some form of mail client as using web mail should be no different wherver you are in the world.
Incoming server - incoming.verizon.net
outgoing server - outgoing.verizon.net
login information - your userid and password for your email account
More settings
outgoing server - outgoing server (smtp) check requires authentication
use same settings as incoming mail server for security
Advanced - incoming server (pop3) port 110
outgoing server (smtp) port 587
I would guess that your issue is probably the outgoing server port. If you have it set to 25 it will work when you are connected to a verizon network otherwise the mail will get rejected for reason relaying.
EDIT
Ah I see where previous poster got his setting, they are on the page he referenced, interesting that it mentions DSL on there. I am a FIOS user. Can't believe there are any difference in mail setting between FIOS and DSL but maybe,
I took my mail setting out of my Outlook email client properties and they have been working fine for years.
As to changing setting you need to bear in mind. Settings that are used on devices that are not attached to Verizon's network WILL work when the device ias attached to the VZ network.
The reverse is not necessarily true.
The settings mentioned by you are the very old settings. They were changed at least a couple years ago. The latest ones are as mentioned by Jumpin68ny for VERIZON email (DSL AND FIOS included) where a third party such as Yahoo is not used.
Mail server settings
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net
Incoming Server Port Numbers: 995
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
Outgoing Server Port Numbers: 465 Why is this important?
Your Verizon Online user name
Your Verizon Online password
Make sure "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is checked.
Also make sure when using these SSL servers that the password is normal (in the clear).

Cannot send email on iMac OS 10.8.5, but can receive email fine
Hi there,
I cannot send email (SMTP) from my iMac OS 10.8.5, email version 6.6
I have checked all the settings and they are exactly the same as my MacBook Pro OS 10.8.5, email version 6.6
Email works absolutely fine on MacBook Pro (POP and SMTP) but only incoming (POP) works on my MacBook and not the outgoing (SMTP)
Any ideas?
I have deleted all email accounts and set them up again, but that hasn't worked. I've tried changing ports per instruction sfrom godaddy (who hosts my email), but no luck.
As I said, all settings are the same as the MacBook Pro which works fine.
This is driving me insane, so any help would be most welcomed please.
Many thanks,
LisaIt is also refusing to send from a gmail account as well. But here's the original POP account I am most concerned about:
