Cannot send mail in Outlook

I have made no changes and receive this message: "The server for account "Mac" returned the error "5.7.8" Bad username or password (authentication failed)". Your username/password or security settings my be incorrect.
When I enter UN and PW it does not work, yet these are my same details and allow me to work via iCloud on iPad and iPhone. Any help much appreciated. I have tried and retried, reboot etc. thanks

Cannot send mail with Outlook 2010

I can't send email with Outlook 2010. I can receive fine. I have a Verizon account, and my settings are those recommended. When I try to send email I eventually get a time out. I have called the Verizon techs any number of times and after working with them fruitlessly I was told to call Microsoft. Microsoft can't find the problem and said that it must be a problem that Verizon refuses to acknowledge.

I'm using MS Outlook 2010 in Win 8, Win 7, and XP. I''m using the latest settings specified by Verizon. Everything works perfectly, and has done so since since I made the changes a month or more ago.
Unless you post your specific settings, exactly as they are entered into your Outlook program, there is no way that any of the volunteers here can provide useful suggestions.

Cannot send email from outlook 2011 (Mac) on public networks but can send via Mac Mail

I cannot send mail with Outlook from anywhere other than my work or home network, will not work even when accessing 4g with my phone hotspot; very frustrating. I am using Yosemite & Macbook Pro (2012). if i use the Apple Mail everything works fine so I can only assume it is a setting on Outlook?

Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
outgoing server - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info".

Cannot send SMTP through Outlook

I cannot send mail through Outlook when I am connected to my WRVS4400N router. If I drop the router it sends fine so it's not my ISP. I can also telnet to the SMTP server. Any ideas??? I have gone back to factory defaults and still nothing. I am trying to use a godaddy relay on port 25. Someone please help.

Don't know if you resolved your issues yet , but I was having the same problem. Heres what I posted. I've been reading these forums for some help regarding not being able to send email from Outlook. I tried everything that was posted here and nothing resolved my issue. Router was configured correctly, latest firm-ware, tried disabling all of my firewalls, bypassing the router and connecting directly through my modem, changing router settings as suggested... nothing. I then deducted that because I still couldn't send emails just going through my modem, it wasn't at all a router or fire wall issue. I did some research on ISP's and port 25...the port for send/receive emails. Heres what I found out and the changes the cleared up all of my issues. Many ISP's are blocking port 25 due to being overloaded and not telling their customers...like ME! Port 25 is the ISP's front line for blocking spam. If port 25 is blocked, you cant receive or sometimes even send email. To find out if your port 25 is indeed blocked, go to this web page and let it run. It might take a few minuets but it's a free diagnostic port scan and will tell you which ports are blocked. http://digconsys.com/testdir/portscan.html If port 25 is blocked, there are a few others that you can use and they are easy to change. The other ports for email are port 587 and port 1025. Port 587 is the most common ISP's recognize and this one worked for me. To change your port in Outlook, and I ASSUME in Outlook Express, do the following. Open Outlook Go to "TOOLS", choose "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" and double click on your account(s)to open. Choose the "MORE SETTINGS" tab and then click the "ADVANCED" tab. Here, you will see the "OUTGOING SERVER(SMTP)" it will be set to port 25. Delete 25 and replace it with 587. Hit "OK" ad then click the "TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS". You should have successfully sent a test email to your self. If 587 didn't work, do it again and replace it with 1025. Port 587 works like a charm for me. I hope this helps some if not all of you out that are having the same issue as I was. I was ready to punt my laptop into the next state! Can't send mail from outlook for mac

I have a desktop mac with OS X 10.8.3 operating system. I recently upgrade to Mountain Lion.
I use Outlook Office for mac 2011 to receive/send emails. For the last four days I haven't been able to send mail, only receive. Whenever I try to send an email I get the following error message
"Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Outlook. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator"
Why is this happening and what do I do to change the settings?

It's your password mate. Something to do MS Office & the way it handles passwords.
I had to change my password & exclude the _ (underscore) symbol which I used in my original password.
Funny part is that I could still log in with my previous password on all my iDevices (iPhone & iPad) however MS Office was the only program that was giving me the above error.
I think it may have something to do with the latest update they just released.

Can't "send" mail in Outlook Web App

Firefox version 34 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04
Several users cannot "send" email using the Outlook Web App. I'm in the process of contacting Microsoft to see if the problem is on their end. The "send" button works fine in Chrome.
I've tried:
-Using the keyboard shortcut (Alt-S)
-Restarting firefox with addons disabled
-Changing the zoom level
-Tried in Private mode
-Tried using the popout window to compose and send
-Tried disabling the proxy (does not work with or without the proxy)
I've noticed that after creating a new message, no draft is saved. Cannot send with a new message or when replying.

Did you realize this is a forum for MacBook Pro's? Outlook is a Microsoft product that only runs on MS Windows. Perhaps you could provide more information such as:
I am running Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 under Boot Camp and am attempting to send mail using Outlook. I am running into the following problems........ and then tell more about how you have set up Outlook, what issues you are having and what troubleshooting steps you have taken.
At any rate if you are using Boot Camp, Fusion, Parallel's etc.. your best bet is to begin posting in those forums. This is a forum for MacBook Pro's 2008 or later. You can find the Boot Camp forum at:

Out Mail server cannot send mail to hotmail by webmail(Sun Java System Messenger Express),but I can send mail to hotmail by microsoft outlook express.

Well according to your logs an email message was delivered to the admin account.
hotmail did not get the mail.Log a support case (assuming you have a support contract). There is simply too many possible causes of your problem and the logs you provided contradict everything else you have said.

Actually i checked the mail ID for WF-BATCH using su01 .But i didnt find any mail ID for WF-BATCH then i added the email address of the user.Then we tried sending mail it was successfull.
But later i removed the email address what i entered in WF-BATCH user .Even after removing the email address also iam able to send the mails through workflow.
So iam confused whether it needs an mail address or not.But now we are able to send a mail to outlook through work flow but not able to send mails to GMAILor yahoo.For that we need to do any settings.
ABAPer is sending mails through work flow.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I have an iMac and I cannot send emails via outlook 2011. I have 3 emails stuck in the sent box... They are not in my sent or inbox. Every time I send an email it first tries to send these 3 mails. for 2 I get an error code 3210 and for one "5.1.2 or other punctuation after the recipient's email address. g5sm23942864eem.4". I have an euronet account and not a hotmail account.

Getting "Cannot Send Mail - One of the Recipient Addresses was Invalid"

Mail was working fine under version 1. Upgraded my original iPhone to version 2 and couldn't send emails. Get "CANNOT SEND MAIL. ONE OF THE RECIPIENT ADDRESSES WAS INVALID. OK" message whenever I attempt to respond to an incoming email or when sending a new email. Sometimes "Sending" progress bar goes all the way to the end, but I still get this error message and mail is NOT sent. This is still the case after I upgraded to 2.02 HELP!

I have since removed the email account and added it again. I tried this several times and came to the realization that the Apple iPhone software was not setting the account up properly. I saved the account even though I was warned by the software that it was not working properly. I then went ahead and carefully edited all the settings and made sure that they matched EXACTLY with those in MS Outlook. I also set Authentication to Password on both incoming at outgoing servers.
I finally got it working. What a pain!!

HT4528 Cannot Send Mail

I receive mail no problem but can't send mail on my new iphone 4S. I've gone into the Outgoing Mail Server tab / Primary Server. I entered the host name, user name, password, use SSL "on", authentication set to password, server port 26 as it is set in my outlook in my PC. . . . . . .press done and a few seconds later I get a check mark on all categories and it says "account verified". . . . . . . .but always get the text below when I try to send mail.
Cannot Send Mail: A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient "______________.com" was rejected by the server.
I've tried different ports, turning off the SSL, a colon and port number after the host name, turning off primary server and used the same settings in "other SMTP servers", updated phone to 5.1.1, and many other things. . . .still no outgoing mail. Verizon is my ISP and I use Surpass Hosting as an email hosting service.

If anyone cares, after no help here, a very dissapointing call to Apple tech support which left me with far less hope, and no clues from my email host, I figured I was on my own. I deleted my email account and re-entered it as an IMAP instead of POP3 and everything is working now. Just took a shot in the dark and got lucky.
With so many clients having the same "no outgoing mail" issue, I would think Apple would have be better prepared with support for this problem. This "support" community is literally filled with iphone "cannot send mail" posts.

I try to send emails after I have recieved. They are hotmail accounts. message says"cannot send mail and error occurred delivering this message. I have tried deleting and restarting. I have tried shutting phone down completely and restarting. no help...

You may need to validate the account with Hotmail. When logged in to the Hotmail account on a computer, there are instructions on how to do this.

Cannot Send Mail

I just tried sending a email from my iphone this morning and I get the message "Cannot Send Mail, the sender address was invalid"
For the past 3 months everything has been fine and mail has been working perfectly. I haven't changed any of the settings at all. However, I did notice this morning that when I logged into my Gmail account online that they've changed they're layout. Seems like quite the coincidence that Google changed their layout and all of a sudden I can't send mail on the phone.
If anybody else is having this problem, or knows of how to resolve it, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
