Cannot send mail to a group if hiding addresses
I can't send mail to a group unless I show all member addresses. If I uncheck this preference I recieve the following error dialogue:
This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
Sending the message content to the server failed.
Very frustrating and infuriating for my reciepients. Any ideas?

Thank you Klaus,
In mail help, Bcc is indicated as an alternative to unchecking the box saying show names in group when sending. Any ideas as to why the preference doesn't work?

Cannot Send Mail One of the Recipients Email Addresses is Invalid
Cannot Send Mail One of the Recipients Email Addresses is Invalid
This is the error message I keep getting on outgoing mail. Incoming mail works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions to try?You mean you can receive and send messages when you are connected to your wi-fi network at home with your internet service provider as the internet connection for your wireless network at home, but you are unable to send messages with this account when connected to AT&T's cellular network?
If so, this leans toward your email account being provided by your internet service provider.
Most internet service providers block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of the ISP's network or not provided by the ISP unless the SMTP server is authenticated. Not many ISPs provide an authenticated SMTP server with the email account they provide their customers.
You can do one of two things. The iPhone includes AT&T's SMTP server to select as the SMTP server to use for this email account when you are connected to AT&T's cellular network, but you probably won't be able to use AT&T's SMTP server to send with the account when connected to your wi-fi network at home.
Or you can switch to using an email account that provides an authenticated SMTP server. A Gmail account is one, and a MobileMe account is another. -
Cannot Send Mail to Distribution Group
We are running Exchange 2013 and have a problem where users are getting NDR reports when trying to send mail with a small attachment a Universal Distribution Group. The message received back is:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
_Group ([email protected])
The recipient won't be able to receive this message because it's too large.
The maximum message size that's allowed is 2 MB. This message is 3 MB
Why are messages to distribution groups capped at 2MB and how can I increase it to at least 10?Hi Will,
Check the distributiongroup maxreceivesize parameter. With Powershell.
Get-DistributionGroup -Name <Name> | FL
It can be changed using:
Set-DistributionGroup -Name <Name> -MaxReceiveSize XXXXX
It can also be changed in the Exchange Administreative Center here:
Recipients > Mailboxes > EditEdit icon > Mailbox features > Mail flow > Message size restrictions > View details > Received messages
You can Refer to this link for further Exchange 2013 Message size limits.

Getting "Cannot Send Mail - One of the Recipient Addresses was Invalid"
Mail was working fine under version 1. Upgraded my original iPhone to version 2 and couldn't send emails. Get "CANNOT SEND MAIL. ONE OF THE RECIPIENT ADDRESSES WAS INVALID. OK" message whenever I attempt to respond to an incoming email or when sending a new email. Sometimes "Sending" progress bar goes all the way to the end, but I still get this error message and mail is NOT sent. This is still the case after I upgraded to 2.02 HELP!
I have since removed the email account and added it again. I tried this several times and came to the realization that the Apple iPhone software was not setting the account up properly. I saved the account even though I was warned by the software that it was not working properly. I then went ahead and carefully edited all the settings and made sure that they matched EXACTLY with those in MS Outlook. I also set Authentication to Password on both incoming at outgoing servers.
I finally got it working. What a pain!! -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I just tried sending a email from my iphone this morning and I get the message "Cannot Send Mail, the sender address was invalid"
For the past 3 months everything has been fine and mail has been working perfectly. I haven't changed any of the settings at all. However, I did notice this morning that when I logged into my Gmail account online that they've changed they're layout. Seems like quite the coincidence that Google changed their layout and all of a sudden I can't send mail on the phone.
If anybody else is having this problem, or knows of how to resolve it, any help would be greatly appreciated! ThanksThe user in this thread is having the same issue. I am not having any problems sending mail from my gmail account after the update.

We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is:>> Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.
About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

Why do I get the message "Cannot send mail, the user name and or password for my email outgoing server is incorrect"? I use the same account, etc. on my iPhone and haven't any trouble sending mail.
If your email requires a password for the SMTP server you can set it up in the settings in the General mail setup. Some i.e Gmail require a password for SMTP.
Otherwise you will probably get better answers in the iPad forum.

Cannot Send Mail from my iPhone 4s
I am no longer able to send out replies or new emails from my phone, this is very recent and I have tried everything I know of.. But I am not THAT tech-savvy.
So, anyways, when I go to send an email or reply to one, I get a pop-up box that says "Cannot Send Mail - The username or password for "said"-hotmail account is incorrect." So then I go to the settings enter my correct password for my hotmail account, it accepts it, and try again. Same pop-box appears, even though my password and username are both correct. I know that they are correct because I am able to receive email with no problems at all.
Is this a fixable problem or should I call Apple or take my phone in directly to them and have one of the techs look at it ?
Thanks;
OdyssyProblems with sending mail is rooted in the settings for the SMTP server. There are places in this that say the username and password are optional, but normally are required by many email providers. Go back into the SMTP server settings and check all of the areas. I also agree with Doctor9fan to check your SSL settings. If you cannot get it to work like this, then remove the account from the device and add it back. As you complete the creation, make sure the account verifies. You can also check the Microsoft site to make sure settings are correct for Hotmail.

I cannot send mails from my ipad, I have checked settings with my mail server and they tell me that everything is OK, they don't know what may be causing the problem, any ideas?
TBS2.
There is no way for anyone to know if your problem is identical to the problem reported by maria_diaz. She didn't mention anything about getting the "relaying" message. I suggest you start a new question that gives a good title to a specific problem. Then in the body of the thread describe the problem in detail, tell us what steps you have tried so far to correct the problem, what happened, and what error messages you received. -
Cannot send mail from any mail account
I have a Mac Mini, late 2014 model, running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. I have constant difficulty sending mail from any of my mail accounts; these are iCloud, Googlemail, Yahoo and a personal one which uses 123-reg.co.uk. I am currently located in Greece, but have been having trouble for ages, even in the UK. I can receive mail, but I don't seem able to send it. Error message is usually simply cannot send mail using this server, select a different server. However, when connection doctor is run, all servers appear to be connected and I am logged in. Any ideas please?

Hi, not sure why that is relevant, but we arrived at the end of January this year. Here is a screen shot of a recurring problem, although in this case Gmail is not connected to the internet, which it usually is. Hope this helps.
Your outgoing Gmail servers not working, everything else seems OK.
So, what is not working for you (other than Gmail Sending) -

I updated to 5.0 today.
Now, when I try to email from my phone, I am block, thwarted, rejected by the following message:
Cannot Send Mail
A copy has been placed in your Out Box. The recipient (enter email here) was rejected by the server.
This happens with my business address. Receiving works.... sending doesn't.
My SBC Global address on this same phone is fine...receiving and sending.
What to do? I'm stressed.
RayHi,
I had the same issue on my iPhone 5S. My internet/email provider told me to uncheck (turn off) USE SSL under Mail settings, and it worked perfectly for me.
