Cannot Send Maril

I have the 8gb iPhone with the 2.0.1 software in it. Ever since my iPhone upgraded to the 2.0 software, I have been unable to send email. Everytime I attepmt it, I get the message "One of the recipient addresses was invalid." This message occurs when I am replying to a received message too. This issue did not exist prior to the 2.0 upgrade. I have checked the addresses, typed them in manually, checked them in Outlook 2007...and none has helped.
ADVICE????

Does the error come immediately (from the phone) or after a delay (from the server)?
If it is immediate try removing the email account from the phone, then adding it back.
If it is a server error you may have the wrong SMTP server configured for the account. V 2 allows you to assign any defined SMTP server to any email account. Go into Settings and the Outgoing server settings for the account to see which ones are enabled for the mail account that is having this problem.

  • Cannot send email from non .mac server

I am only able to send/reply emails using my .mac address. My 2 other server addresses keep giving me the following message.
"Cannot send mail. One of the recipient addresses was invalid".
    How can I fix this?

You should be able to send email from Safari, however I do wonder why you wish to do this and whether there is something inherently wrong with using your mail app and your iCloud address.

  • Cannot send email from Mail through .mac account

I have recently opened a .mac account and started using the email service. It works fine online however I am having difficulty sending messages through the Mail application in Tiger.
Whenever I attempt to send a message, a dialog box appears saying "Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com".
I have tried looking at the setting in preferences. I have deleted and .mac a/c setting in Mail and re-set them up, all the problem persists.
    Please help!

    Hello David.
Who is your ISP used for connecting to the internet and are you accessing an email account snd SMTP server in Mail provided by your ISP?
If so, can you send messages with the email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP?
Most, if not all ISPs now block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network (or not provided by the ISP used for connecting to the internet) on Port 25 which is the standard port used for SMTP servers. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only (such as the .Mac SMTP server) that is outside of their network on Port 25 but some block its use regardless.
These restrictions are part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from the ISP's domain.
    Something to try.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
Test if this resolves the problem.
If not and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server in Mail that is provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet, select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients.

  • Cannot send email from promail.ptd in iPad Air

Help, I have deleted the accounts, rebooted the iPad & nothing has worked. My gmail is working fine but these other two from ptd.net cannot send. And, when I try deleting emails, they flood back into the account.

    Hi,
Check if you have the Accepted domain settings are correct.
ECP->Mail Flow->Accepted Domains. Make sure that your default domain is the domain which is having the AD name (eg.domain.local)

  • Cannot send email from icloud on web.

I use icloud in Safari to manage my email.  Since yesterday each time I attempt to send an email, I receive the following:
"Cannot send message.  This message cannot be sent at this time."
I am receiving emails, just cannot send.
I've tried both Safari and Firefox.  I've tried restarting my computer.
I tried sending from both my @me and my @icloud addresses.
Lastly, I am able to send from my iphone 5.  So this appears to be isolated to the web version of icloud.
    Thank you!

I have been having the same problems for the last two days now.  It won't let me send, but it will let me save it to my drafts folder.  I even tried opening the e-mail form my iPhone 5 and it won't let me send it there either.  The last two times i ended up copying the contents from my failed e-mail on my phone and pasting that into a new e-mail and that works.  I normally use the icloud web app to reply to e-mails when i'm at work (using win 7) and it is very frustrating.

  • Cannot send email from my 4S on my ISP account (essex1).

I recieve an error message that tells me that the recipient (email addy) was rejected by the server.  My ISP provided the required settings; still cannot send from my iPhone.
I recently upgraded to the newer IOS.
    A bit of help, please!

First you have to find out on what PORT the SMTP your "College" is allowing through there firewalls. Then in Mail go to the Mail menu item name "Mail" and in it's drop-down select Preferences. Then click on the account for your "College" email servers. Then in the right-hand pane use the SMTP drop-down to edit the SMTP server settings to the SMTP server port your "college" is allowing through.maybe port 587.

  • Cannot send email from outlook 2011 (Mac) on public networks but can send via  Mac Mail

I cannot send mail with Outlook from anywhere other than my work or home network, will not work even when accessing 4g with my phone hotspot; very frustrating. I am using Yosemite & Macbook Pro (2012). if i use the Apple Mail everything works fine so I can only assume it is a setting on Outlook?

Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
    outgoing server  - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info".

  • Cannot send email from sbcglobal account

Does anyone from Apple take what's discussed here back to a department that is useful in getting bugs fixed? I hope so. I am making this post although I know that NONE of you have an answer to my question that is satisfactory. I will come back to this thread as often as possible in hopes that the next update my finally fix my issue. For the love of all things, I just want to send email via IMAP like this article says I should:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306074
To be clear for you all, I've set up my sbcglobal account as detailed above...ie, using yahoo. This worked great for me until I applied the 1.0.1 update. Since then, I cannot send an email to save my life. Though receiving has worked just great.
I am well aware that I can set up my sbcglobal account using pop3/smtp. This is an annoying work around to me, not a solution. If I set it up using pop3, I loose all kinds of ability I had with IMAP. This is a documented feature that is supposed to work on the iPhone, and it doesn't. I see no reason I should have to go back to an older technology/protocol.
I've submitted multiple comments on the iphone about this. I just pray that someone at Apple fixes this soon. I'm so frustrated, and of course way past my point of returning the dang phone.

Here's the response I received from Yahoo following the link you posted. As usual, nothing that moves the problem closer to a solution. First, there is an attempt at deflecting the problem by pointing out all the other great services Yahoo offers. Note the operative word "some". That's the whole reason I am writing the note. I already know that "some" of the services are working. I'm wondering about the one that doesn't so this doesn't help. Next comes pass the buck. Go talk to Apple about it. No comment on that one, it speaks for itself. And finally, if none of that works please give me more information. I'll call that reflection. So now its back to me. I think I'll take the ball and go home. For what its worth the response is below:
I understand that you are having issues with the Yahoo! Mobile service.
I understand that your sbcglobal.net accounts are not working with the

  • Cannot send email from iPhone5--calendar syncing issues also

I have an iPhone 5 and am not currently using iCloud.  I have 3 email accounts.
The first is a yahoo email account--and it both receives & sends emails just fine.
I use Outlook for the other two email accounts (one is an IMAP and the other is a POP).  Both receive email, but I cannot send out emails from my iPhone.  When I try to send an email from either account, I get this message:
"A copy has been placed in your Outbox.  The sender address "[address I used]" was rejected by the server.
Also, I don't know if it is related, but my iPhone calendar isn't syncing with Outlook.  I add an appointment on my iPhone or in Outlook, and it won't appear in the other location (Outlook/iPhone).
    Thanks for your help.

Check your settings, maybe the mail index is at fault.

  • Cannot send email from Treo 800w

I just bought a new Treo 800 yesterday from Sprint.  I have set up my home email, and I can receive messages fine, but I cannot send them.  I have been into the store, they cannot figure it out.  I had a Blackberry before this and I could send and receive my cox.net email with no problem.  I have set the account up 5 times at least, but still cannot send or reply to anything.  HELP!
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

I recently started having the not being able to send but receive works fine problem. I finally got fixed when I checked the "Outgoing Server Requires Authentication" box in your email Account options.
The weird thing is I had checked that box in my initial setup and then a couple days ago my email started acting up. I deleted the account and set it up again as new.

  • Cannot send email from ipad?

I can receive, but cannot send emails from my iPad. Always get message that I have wrong user name or password.

Then make sure that the settings are correct in your email account.
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

It should now work. O noticed the default server name is different.
    Hope this helps.
