Cannot send on behalf of user

We are using exchange 2010 SP1 in our environment. I have one user no matter who you try to setup so she can send on behalf it always comes back and says you do not have permission to do it.
We set the person up with full access to the mailbox, with send as on mailbox that did not work. Next we set the person up with send on behalf using the mailbox properties still same error. i went on the AD account and went to permissions and added that
person to the AD account with send as and full control and still nothing is working. Any other users you allow send on behalf for any mailbox is working just fine.

Hello,
Do you mean when you grant one user full access permission or send as permission on any other mailboxes, the user still has permission issue? If so, besides DareDevil57's suggestion, please use get-adpermission cmdlet to check permissions on the Active Directory
object.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125183(v=exchg.141).aspx
And please make sure whether you check "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent".
Please make sure whether there are multiple DCs in your environment.
If I have any misunderstanding, please free let me know.

About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

  • I have an iphone 5 and cannot send email, server refused user...

I have an iphone 5 and cannot send email away from home. It works fine at home over my home WiFi. But when away from home on Verizon wireless if I send an email I get an error: "the server refused user >Personal email address deleted< your message has been added to drafts". What do I need to do to fix this? My wife has the same problem with her iphone 5.

        Hi Jwhitt
Rats! Emails should work on our network!  Let's get this fixed. It may be the way the email is set up on your device. Here's an awesome link on apple's site to help you: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1288908?start=0&tstart=0 If that doesn't fix the problem I would recommend reaching out to road runners site. They normally have email set up walkthrus.

  • Cannot send from one sunjes user to another after initial email

This is most annoying I have installed a sunjes 5 install , did a test email e.g. fgrom jdoe@xxxxx to jdoe@xxx, received it and though that was ok , however since then I cannot send anything else I can send to an exchnage adddress no problem but sunjes to sunjes - no way.
Email shows up in the sent items but not i the inbox where I want it , I have rebooted the zone, stopped/started services , no joy and do not have any error messages.
Nothing has chnaged since th einstall and there are no space issues.
Does anyone have any idea as sunjes/ communications express is useless in help messages etc

    hi Shane,
thanks for that a) there i nothing held in the queue , b) this is the output from the logging - any ideas?

  • My ipad3 gives me this message about once a week: Cannot send mail. The user name or password for "yahoo" is incorrect. Mail will send after I enter password. But it hasn't changed. What gives?

    Cannot send mail

I have an occasional glitch like that (not using Gmail). If I were you and it is that infrequent, I would NOT try anything to "fix" it.

  • Cannot send mail to another user of my mail (v2.1) application.

i have 3 users (accounts a,b & c) in my mail setup. when i send a mail from account a to account b, the mail does not arrive in the mailbox of account b. i know that the email is being sent because if i check the mail for user b on my windows pc (outlook) the email has arrived there.
all 3 accounts in my (mac) mail system share the same incoming and outgoing servers, @ verizon.net.
    any ideas . . . . . . . ??

evidently a mail file was corrupted. resolved by recreating the mail files.

  • HT201320 CANNOT SEND MAIL

I reset my Comcast password today.  As a result, I am able to receive email but am unable to send email on my iPhone and iPad.  I receive the following message. Cannot Send Mail.  The user name or password for SMTP. etc. is incorrect.  I went into Settings, Deleted my Account, and readded it, but still receive the same error message.  Help.

Thanks for the quick response.  I input my new password in the outgoing mailserver (SMTP) however I'm still unable to send messages.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 The delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

I am trying to assign delegation to a user and I receive the following message.
The delegates settings were not saved correctly.  Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list.  You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.
We are using 2010 for the server and client.  There are only specific mailboxes that this is happening for after being migrated from Lotus Notes.  The user can use their mailfile fine however it is just the delegation that appears corrupted somehow.
I'm not sure how to fix this.  I have checked the access through the security tab in ad and that looks fine.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I did some more digging and I solved it.
    This would be the solution:
In Active Directory Users and Computers
    -Click on VIEW
-Click on ADVANCE FEATURES  (this is important otherwise you won't see
the complete list in the next steps)
    -Click on the USERS container
    -Find the problem user's account
-Right mouse the account and click on PROPERTIES
    -Click on the SECURITY tab
-In the top box, click on the SELF account
-In the bottom portion of the screen make sure the READ PERSONAL
INFORMATION  & WRITE PERSONAL INFORMATION  should both be checked for
    ALLOW
If you can compare the permissions for 'SELF' with another user you probably should set them accordingly to be safe. I noticed that for the user where setting delegates (SOB) did
not work, more than those 2 permissions were missing.
    Good luck!
    David

  • Outlook error "The Delegate settings were not saved correctly. cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list. The operation failed"

    Hi,
Re: "The Delegate settings were not saved correctly. cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list.  The operation failed"
I have a client who is getting the above error when attempting to change delegate permissions in Outlook 2010.
She is also getting this error when she tries to remove a delegate.
I have tried recreating her mail profile.
I have also tried kb2593557. The auto fix didn't work at all and the registry fix only removes the error message and not the problem. This client would like to be able to edit her delegate permissions.
    She is on Exchange 2010
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

The article you provided is not related to the error message that the user is getting it.
Can you please provide better solution? I know this answer and this post is old but I am having same issue.
The error message is only (The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list. The operation failed) I was not able to attach screen shot.

  • Federated user can log into mailbox, but cannot send email

Hello. Of several dozen federated users with mailboxes in Exchange Online, I have one user who suddenly cannot send mail from his own mailbox, always receiving a, "you do not have the required permission to send from this mailbox." He used to be
able to send, and I've reviewed and compared his mailbox properties and mailbox permissions with other federated users, and I can find nothing to explain these errors. The "NT Authority\Self" identity is listed in the Send-As permission, just as
it is on every other user's mailbox. I even tried explicitly adding the user's account to the Send-As permissions, which made no difference, so I removed it again.
As I said, the user can successfully log into his mailbox and can read his mail, but all attempts to send anything out fail with the same error. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Turns out the problem was caused by two things:
    1) the user has a K2 (kiosk) license
    2) in Settings, the user checked the box to "always show the From field"
Apparently, despite the fact that this user had access to no mailboxes other than his own, when you turn on the From field, Exchange apparently does some sort of check for Send on Behalf of rights whenever the user hits Send, even on his own mailbox, and
the Kiosk license excludes the ability to Send on Behalf Of any mailbox.
The bottom line is that, unchecking the "always show From field" checkbox resolved the issue and allowed the user to again send mail.
I'm a bit annoyed by this. If the Kiosk licenses limits a feature like this, then it should remove or deactivate the GUI element, to prevent it from causing this sort of error from occurring.

  • Cannot send email user name or password is incorrect

I have an iPhone 3Gs with 6.1.6 iOS software and gmail. Until last week I could receive and send emails on my phone. Last week I tried to email a photo from my iPhone and received the following message "Cannot send email the user name or password is incorrect".  About 30 minutes later I received an email message from google accounts with a sign-in attempt blocked message.  Since then I have not been able to send an email from my phone.  Every time I try to send an email I get the "User name or Password for Gmail is incorrect" - message.  I changed passwords but that didn't help. I can receive emails on my phone but I can't send them. The only way I can send email is by clicking on the less secure apps button on the google accounts settings page..  Why do I get this message now and how can I get gmail working on my phone like it used to?  If I delete my gmail account does it just remove it from the phone where the same account can be reinstalled or is it completely gone for good?

    Hey YodaObi,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are not able to send emails but are able to receive them. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • TS3276 Cannot send mail from my iPad...."user name and or password is incorrect"......mail can be sent from my iPhone

Why do I get the message   "Cannot send mail, the user name and or password for my email outgoing server is incorrect"?  I use the same account, etc. on my iPhone and haven't any trouble sending mail.

If your email requires a password for the SMTP server you can set it up in the settings in the General mail setup. Some i.e Gmail require a password for SMTP.
Otherwise you will probably get better answers in the iPad forum.

  • I had a power failure 2 days ago, have power now, but cannot send email from my iPad. Everything was fine before that. The box says cannot send mail, the user name or password for Gmail is incorrect. I haven't changed anything. I need help. Thanks

    Hi
I had a power failure 2 days ago, my computer is running again, but now I cannot send email from my iPad using Cox or my gmail account. I am receiving mail in my Cox account but not my gmail account. It was working fine until the power failure. It keeps telling me, the user name or password for Gmail is incorrect. I have not changed anything. I don't know what is wrong. Can anyone help me? Thanks

I agree, unplug and replug your router, then reset your iPad by holding down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red power down slider, and wait til you see the silver apple. let it reboot and then try your connection.
Chances are rebooting the router will help. You may also need to talk to cox. They may need to reset something on their end.

  • Cannot send email via ActiveSync when user connect from Internet (Exchange 2010 SP3 RU5)

    Hi All.
This is the first time I encounter this kind of issue, whenever user connect from the internet they cannot send email from their Phone or Windows Mail App, but they can retrieve email
But when they connect from Internal Network they can send email. I already test ActiveSync from internet using www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and it pass all tests.
I also check the Firewall and all the necessary ports already opened (we even open all ports) , the default TTL on the firewall 3600 second.
From what I read ActiveSync use some kind of HTTP POST or in MS terminology "PING" command, but still have no idea what kind of configuration that should be made to the Firewall so it can pass this "PING" command. Because from what I
see in Android Logcat the problem always related to this PING command
