Cannot send or receive e-mail?
Hi, I have a new Pearl 8130, Sprint provider. I've had it for 2 weeks now. Everything has been fine up until today. I'm suddenly not able to receive or send e-mail. Everything else is fine. Any suggestions on where to start?

A simple battery pull reset is a good start to remedy that...
With the device powered ON, remove the battery, hold a few seconds, and replace it to reboot.

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password. On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo. -
Cannot send or receive e-mails
My boss has a Blackberry Bold. He is in Chile on business (from SOuth Africa) and we cannot communicate with him via e-mail. When he sends an e-mail from his blackberry the message goes into the outbox with a little red box sign next to it.
Sometimes he can phone and not sent e-mails and sometimes he cannot phone and cannot send e-mails. Is this a network problem or do we need to change some settings? He is very frustrated as this is the only of communicating between him and the office.

Does he see GPRS, EDGE or 3G? -- This is important and is case sensitive. If he's not getting capital letters, it means he's not getting a data connection. Without a data connection, email will not work. -
Suddenly I cannot send or receive e-mail
My phone is working properly as is my wi-fi. Whenever I try to send something I get a message 'User account is in invalid mode. I cannot send or receive on Mail or Thunderbird
I have an ATT DSL wireless account and I followed all the steps in setting up my email with both Mail 3.5 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.16. I keep getting messages that the SMTP has timed out or in the case of Thunderbird it doesn't recognize the STMP. I use port 995 for incoming and port 465 for outgoing.
I would think that if I can't get setup on Mail then I should be able to get setup with Thunderbird.
What am I doing wrong? When I called ATT for help they told me to call Apple. You think I need to talk directly with Apple for merely setting up email?I reset the preference on both Mail and Thunderbird per your suggestion. I got this message on Mail when I hit 'Get Mail' :

Thunderbird just flagged a message saying that connection to fpostoffice.isp.att.net has timed out. That is also the message I've been getting all along.

Did you reboot the phone by holding the home and sleep/wake buttons together at same time for 10 seconds?

I can access the internet with WMP5AGS, but I cannot send or receive e-mail using my Comcast.net address through Outlet Express. Message says can't make a connection.

Hello. I cannot send or receive Yahoo mails on my i-pad. G-Mail is OK. All Apps are OK. Wi-Fi is OK. I-Cloud is OK. 3G is OK. All OK except Yahoo Mail. The message on i-pad is "cant receive/send mail. the connection to the server failed." My Mac Computer is fine,mails sent and received. My i-pod is fine. Mails sent and received on both.. Only the i-pad has the problem. Should I delete the Yahoo account on the i-pad and set it up again? Will I loose anything in the i-pad? Help.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

All email accounts are still fine and not lost but ever since I installed iOS6 I cannot send any new email and I am not receiving either. That includes my Exchange, Yahoo and Hotmail. I didn't loose any old email in my Inboxes.

Now I have zero emails in my inbox on my phone when there is new email sitting in my Hotmail inbox on my laptop. I've tried to delete and add the account multiple times now while rebooting the device and nothing changes...I've looked into other fixes mentioned here that say to change the settings on cellular date, airplane mode, push vs fetch, etc. and nothing is working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanx a lot. It seems my domain name ran out, and I didn't get a 'renew soon' email cuz the auxiliary address they had had changed over the years.
That said, even tho I renewed I'm still not getting service. Pair mentioned it'll take up to an entire day to get reconnected; so I'll wait until tonight.

Some Wi-Fi hotspots, especially free ones, block all ports except those used for web browsing. If that's the case, you should be able to check your mail in a web browser, if the account has a web interface.
