Cannot send or receive email, or quit Mail after 10.4.6 update
Updated from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6 and cannot receive or send email via Mail with POP, IMAP, or .Mac accounts. Must force quit.
Four email accounts continue to have the spinning wheel, which I suspect indicate a continuing, though unsuccessful, attempt to receive mail from those accounts. Other email accounts do not show the spinning wheel.
Switched to different user account, and Mail works fine there.

Well, I hope you find the answer there. It's strange that things work properly when logged in as another user, though. Whatever you do to try to solve the problem, be sure to start by verifying/repairing your disk (not just permissions), as described here:

I am getting the message that my email password and/or username is not correct. They are both correct! I am the only one who cannot send or receive emails...I am the only one using a mac. i use mac mail and it is my companies server. I took my computer and iPhone to the Apple store...4 hours later they said that couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Any suggestions???? I am also not able to log into the C-Panel...
Same here! Happened yesterday to me on New iPad and iPhone 4S. On iPad I managed to correct it by removing the account and activating it again as an Exchange account...I have mail and calendar OK!
On the iPhone nothing seems to work!
Facts:
1. everything worked perfectly for years!
2. I have the 2-step authentication deactivated on my google account so it cannot be this one.
3. On desktop everything works just fine, on iPad everything is OK with Exchange account added (after Google removed support for Exchange account access I CAN ONLY HAVE ONE DEVICE with Google Exchange account, so doing the same on the iPhone does not work!)
4. Tried to remove and add the account again - no results.
5. Tried to remove and add as Google, as Exchange, as Other account - I get calendar but no mail!!!
6. Tried to reboot between remove/add accounts - no results.
7. Tried to ("reset settings") reset the device - no results.
8. Tried to add as POP account and I it worked - I get mail but I do not need POP as I am using zounds of mail with labels and need to be working on an IMAP account
9. To make things even more complicated...I have another account which works perfectly!!!!!
Anyone out there having a clue? -

Try removing the account you are having an issue with and then re-add the account via settings > mail, contacts and calendars.
A lot of times this fixes the problem with sending and receiving mail.

I'm unable to send and receive email through Apple Mail 4. I've checked my settings on Preferences, and my password to Gmail is up to date for syncing with IMAP, but it still won't connect. Suggestions?
I think it's trying to open it in a gMail eMail & is losing your gMail password that it needs log into gMail, but not 100% positive.
Have you tried Right clicking or Control+click on the eMail link & choose Copy? Works on some, not others. -
I have no problem connecting to the Internet but I cannot send or receive email on my iPod

My Iphone 4 is new, and I have been able to send and receive texts, but cannot send nor receive emails. I get the message that I need to input my password for my yahoo account which I've done many times. When I type messagefor outgoing it only allows me to save as a draft. Any ideas?
Are you positive you're typing the correct password in? You might want to try and reset your password, and try again. You'll get texts because it isn't connected to your email account.

The other day I changed my password on my comcast.net email account, and everything works fine. Then I entered the new password into my iPhone email address (same email address as Comcast). Since then, I cannot send or receive email on my iPhone. Never had this problem before.
Each time I try to send an email a window pops up and says: "The user name or password for (then it gives my email address) is incorrect"

CalDAV is calendar syncing. Try going to your exchange account settings and turning Calendar syncing to Off.

I cannot send or receive email by 3G
I can send and receive email when I am connected to my wifi at home. However, when I am gone I cannot send or receive email through 3G. Instead I get a message that there is no Internet service, but I CAN connect to the Internet through Safari. Frustrating!!

Wow, 1yerdua. That's far too long to be having this messaging trouble. We want to find the resolution fast! If you turn off your Lumia's WiFi (Menu > Settings > WiFi), are you still able to access data-oriented applications like Internet Explorer? Have you been to other areas of the state/country and experienced the same trouble?
