Cannot send SMTP through Outlook

I cannot send mail through Outlook when I am connected to my WRVS4400N router. If I drop the router it sends fine so it's not my ISP. I can also telnet to the SMTP server. Any ideas??? I have gone back to factory defaults and still nothing. I am trying to use a godaddy relay on port 25. Someone please help.

Don't know if you resolved your issues yet , but I was having the same problem. Heres what I posted. I've been reading these forums for some help regarding not being able to send email from Outlook. I tried everything that was posted here and nothing resolved my issue. Router was configured correctly, latest firm-ware, tried disabling all of my firewalls, bypassing the router and connecting directly through my modem, changing router settings as suggested... nothing. I then deducted that because I still couldn't send emails just going through my modem, it wasn't at all a router or fire wall issue. I did some research on ISP's and port 25...the port for send/receive emails. Heres what I found out and the changes the cleared up all of my issues. Many ISP's are blocking port 25 due to being overloaded and not telling their customers...like ME! Port 25 is the ISP's front line for blocking spam. If port 25 is blocked, you cant receive or sometimes even send email. To find out if your port 25 is indeed blocked, go to this web page and let it run. It might take a few minuets but it's a free diagnostic port scan and will tell you which ports are blocked. http://digconsys.com/testdir/portscan.html If port 25 is blocked, there are a few others that you can use and they are easy to change. The other ports for email are port 587 and port 1025. Port 587 is the most common ISP's recognize and this one worked for me. To change your port in Outlook, and I ASSUME in Outlook Express, do the following. Open Outlook Go to "TOOLS", choose "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" and double click on your account(s)to open. Choose the "MORE SETTINGS" tab and then click the "ADVANCED" tab. Here, you will see the "OUTGOING SERVER(SMTP)" it will be set to port 25. Delete 25 and replace it with 587. Hit "OK" ad then click the "TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS". You should have successfully sent a test email to your self. If 587 didn't work, do it again and replace it with 1025. Port 587 works like a charm for me. I hope this helps some if not all of you out that are having the same issue as I was. I was ready to punt my laptop into the next state! Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
outgoing server - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info".

Cannot send mail through Windows Live Mail with 3rd party email address

I know this problem has been thoroughly discussed, and I basically understand it. I must change my outgoing port to 587 on my two non-Verizon email accounts that I pull into Microsoft Mail along with my Verizon mail. One of the accounts is my web site email with Network Solutions, and one is an email address through Onebox.com.
When I used port 587, neither worked to send email through Outlook Express or Windows Mail. I called Onebox. and was told to use (for them) port 465, which did not work to send, either.
I have not called Network Solutions yet. I did call Verizon Support, however, and the support person tried to find the solution. Finally, he told me I need to call Onebox again (and Network Solutions).
I am just checking to see if there is something I missed that anyone knows of. I would really like to consolidate my mail on my computer...it will be complicated if I cannot.

Cannot send mail through Hotmail on iPad, it's ok through bigpond though. I have tried deleting account and shutdowns x 2 but still nothing.
The message which appears is telling me the user name or password "SMTP: @[email protected]" is incorrect.

Yahoo's been having persistently random issues for months. You can try just waiting it out, or delete and readd your yahoo account. When my accounts were affected I just used webmail to access my yahoo accounts until it cleared up.
Chances are it's all on their end and really all you can do is wait it out.

I would start first with, do you know that the smtp setting for your server actually points to a Sun Java Enterprise Messaging Server?
what do you get on a command line when you do:
telnet <what you have for smtp> 25

Outlook 2010 address book prompt out hen trusted program try to send email through Outlook 2010

Dear all,
My program will send email through Outlook 2010(in cache mode). Sometime it may prompt the address book out and pend here, and we need to manually click "OK" to let the program run again. Although we re-write the program in
Java and send by JavaMail now, but we are interested why the address book will prompt out.
There are no pattern that we can guess the reason. Different recipient, different subject/content/have attachment or not can casue the address book prompt. But same email with same content/everythings may not cause prompt before and/or after.
We try to change to offline address book and need manual sync, problem still occur.

Firstly, there is no such thing as a "trusted program" to Outlook. It only trusts COM addins, all other applications will cause a security prompt unless you have an up-to-date anti-virus app installed (if you can control the client environment).

Cannot send emails when outlook through another IS...

When I am abroad I try to use Outlook to access my emails via whatever ISP is provided by my hotel. I can receive mails fine but I cannot send. I have tried changing default settings for outgoing mail with no success.

You may have to use webmail instead, as the BT mail server will probably reject SMPT requests from outside of the BT network, to prevent spam.

I have installed Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1) on Windows Xp with SP 2 platform. My MS Outlook has been configured.
How could i send mail through Microsoft outlook by using PL/SQL Program.

How could i send mail through Microsoft outlook by using PL/SQL Program.Nonsensical question. MS Outlook is a mail client. A PL/SQL program is also a mail client.
Both these need to talk to a mail server. It does not make sense for one mail client to "+talk+" to another client for passing it e-mails that need to be send.
The mail client talks to a mail server using the SMTP ( Simple Mail Transfer Protocol ). There are also other protocols such as IMAP (open standard) and MAPI (Microsoft proprietary).
Oracle's PL/SQL environment by default supports SMTP via the UTL_SMTP, and UTL_MAIL packages - these provide the PL/SQL developer with an interface to use to send e-mails.
MS Outlook (client) does not feature anywhere in this regard, whereas MS Exchange as a mail server will (assuming it is being used on your network).

Cannot Send Email Through Hotmail iOS 5 iPhone 4

I just got a new iPhone 4 with iOS 5. I've previously had a 3G and I own an iPad. Both of which I've activated and sync'd my hotmail account to. The issue I"m having is that I can receive emails on my phone from my Hotmail account however, when I go to send an email or reply/forward and email from my hotmail account on my phone I get an error that says " Cannot Send Mail No password provided for SMTP:[email protected]@smtp.live.com. Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password."
I do have my password saved hence I can receive new emails, however there is no section that allows you to input a password for the outgoing mail server smtp.live.com. It only allows you to select the type of authentication to use. Password is default.
Any help would be appreceiated.
