Cannot set custom print settings using mg6220

Have just purchased a new iMac running 10.8.2 and Canon MG 6220. Can print, but am not able to set custom print settings and see disclosure triangle in the Print Dialogue Window that I would click on to get to this option. The instructions and illustrations in the manual are not the same as what I am seeing in my print window.

Then I think you have selected the AirPrint driver rather than the MG6200 Series driver.
So what you can do is open Print & Scan, select the current MG6220 in the Printers list and press the minus button to remove it. Then click on the plus button next to the minus button to add but if a little sub-menu window appears showing the MG6220 under the heading of Nearby Printers, as shown below with my MP990, do not select this.
Instead, select the menu item that says Add Printer or Scanner. This will make the Default Add printer view appear. Here you should see the MG6220. Select it and if the Use menu shows AirPrint, click on this menu and select Canon MG6200 Series. Then click Add to complete. This should now give you the same Quality & Media menu that I have shown above.

Setting pdf printer settings use framemaker FDK

I am trying to create a framemaker client that will save a book as a pdf file. This client will do all the steps automatically and will be activated nightly on a build server.
My problem is that when I use the command F_ApiSave() with the arguments set so that the file will be correctly saved, I get an error in framemaker that says I must set the PDF printer property: "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." to off. This option is already set to off by default, but my client must be changing it to on.
Is there any way to change this option using the Framemaker API in C on windows?

Hi,
I am printing 12x18" images on 13x19" sheets. I find it difficult to enter the 13x19" dimensions because each value jumps to another random value when I move to enter the second dimension. For instance 13 jumps to, say, 8.5 as I type 19 into the second box. Same with the sheet dimensions.
Also, when I finally get it all correctly, the margins don't set themselves automatically - which I would I expect.
Then, even though I save the setting by clicking Save Setting at the gear below, next time I turn Aperture on, it's all gone.
Any ideas? Thanks.

For me, it is working with these settings, Raphael.
Does your image have a 12x18" aspect ratio? You may want to crop it to the desired aspect ratio before printing.
I can only test with Aperture 3.6 on Yosemite 10.1.

Transfer custom print settings to mountain lion

Hi,
I have previously transferred .plist files from one computer to another in order to transfer or preserve custom print settings (I have lots). However, when I tried this from a Lion machine to a Mountain Lion machine, it did not work. Examining the .plist file suggests there are some differences, particularly at the end of the file. Does anyone have any insight on what I want to do before I get my hands dirty trying to hack the file myself?

Is it possible to give each page within one pdf document a specific set of print settings?

I have a complex document (catalogue) that requires printing. There are several different printer settings required and each one is specific to each page within the document. For instance pg 1 is single sided in colour, page 2-3 is duplexed in b&w, page 3-8 is duplexed in colour, etc.... Is it possible to give each page within the pdf document a given set of print settings and then print the entire document as a whole?

I assume that is not feasible ...You need to give the print command again and select the respective pages and their settings !

I want to set default printer settings to be used only for a specific type of application, certain documents. All other print jobs should use a different default setting for the printer.

I am printing a specific document from a web based application. This document need to be printed in landscape. So I would like to set the default settings for this specific printer to landscape. But for all other printers it should be portrait. But this does not seem to work. The browser picks the settings from the standard/default printer and uses this for all print jobs.

Setting Custom printer to default

Printing is not work for me with Read 8.1 on Linux (Ubuntu). It only works if I set printer to Custom and give it an explicit command, e.g. "Lpr -Plp4".
However whenever I restart reader it does not keep custom as the default but goes back to the value set in "LPDEST" environment variable, anyone know how to fix this?

Clicking on the properties button does not seem to have any effect, i.e. no text is displayed.
In the Printer dialog box I have on the left:
Name lp4 (from pull down menu)
status lp4 is ready
Type Unknown
when I run "strace -s 256 -f -ff -o log1 acroread"
and using the "default printer" in the pull down menu I get this line amongst others in the main log
readv(3, [{"*acroread*lprCommand:\t/usr/bin/lpr -Plp4\n", 41}, {"\0\0\0", 3}], 2) = 44
and this line in the subprocess log

Change printer settings using print management

I have deployed some printers using 'Print Management' in Windows 2012. My users see the printer. By default, 'paper size' is set to 'letter'. I want to change it to 'A4'.
I went to 'print management' tool on the print server. There I changed the format to 'A4'. I have right clicked the printer and I have chosen 'deploy with group policy'.
Unfortunately, the paper size is still set to 'letter'. Also after 'gpupdate /force' and computer restart.
Any ideas?

Printer settings are not pushed to clients. the only way to get the default settings from the server is to unmap and remap the network printer. this allows user to locally adopt the settings to their likings. A workaround that is often impelmented is
have the logon scritp rempa all network printers.

How do I set my printer settings for a Canon Pixma MX870?

I have installed and updated the drivers.
It currently prints out coloured, one sided pages. I prefer two sided, B&W quick print settings.
I need a step by step run through on were to find these settings.
On my Brother's PC he has 'Canon My Printer' which is were he set up the setting for his computer. It was not on the instualtion disc for the printer and I can't seem to find the download on the Canon website.
Im on OS X Lion 10.7.4.

I knew that was going to be an issue. Renaming the audio files. To change the name of an audio file do it within the project. You want to go to the media bin. where your audio files are. _WITH IN THE PROJECT_. You can just double click on them and rename them. and yes be very name specific. so no audio file ever has a chance to have the same name.
The audio files in the bin are in there own separate folders. You want to rename the folder that contains the audio file to, eg, Mary had a little lamb kick drum take 752. The renamed audio file folder will reflect in the timeline and in your project audio folder. But now the audio file can have a different name than the folder, the next is least important, but you may just want your track to be called Kick. So you can double click on the track header and give it a name kick. then you can right click on the audio in the timeline of the corresponding track and select, Track names to regions. Now the track name, the region within the timeline, and the region within the Mary had a little lamb kick drum take 752 folder within the bin will have the name kick. but wait there's more, lol. just kidding.
So maybe the case is now that you don't really want to put all audio files from all songs in one folder, just all audio files from one song into one folder right.
This way each song has its own folder containing the audio. This is standard practice. Its just a given when you create a project.

Cannot Change Custom Import Settings For AAC's

Last night I changed the custom import settings from 192 kbps to 160 kbps for a particular mp3 album I wanted to convert with that bitrate. I tried to change the custom settings back to 192 kbps (the bitrate most of my mp3's & wma's are in). For some reason, the window that came up many times before refuses to pop up now. I tried the custom settings for mp3's and that window still pops up. Anyway, I tried a repair and nothing happened. I uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, and Apple Software Updates, deleted there corresponding folders in C:/Program Files and then restarted the computer. I downloaded the iTunes 9 installer through the iTunes website and proceeded to reinstall iTunes. Still, the problem exists. I'm not sure what else to do? The only other thing I can think of is to do the same except install iTunes 8 instead and then search for updates and reinstall iTunes 9 that way. Would anyone know of any other method on solving my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Microsoft Outlook 2010 & 2013 cannot set automatic reply settings

We cannot seem to set automatic reply's within outlook 2010 & 2013. We have an exchange server 2010. We
can setup automatic reply through OWA absolutely fine. The error that we receive is 'Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.
However we can setup out of office on any other office version below 2010 fine. We have run through
a number of tests and have come to the conclusion that the auto discover service is not configured correctly. I have been told to run through the following
"We need to make sure the IIS service is assigned to the certificate which includes mail.mydomainname.co.uk
name:
Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Thumbprint 62C247B3BD081D0A8B074D4A928A76E6DA3BABBA -Services
POP,IMAP,SMTP,IIS
Then restart IIS service
to apply the changes.
If the user is connect
to mailbox from external environment as your test results, it is recommended to add the autodiscover.mydomain.co.uk name in your certificate with IIS service. If so, the autodiscover
service can be accessed successfully in your posted second steps(https:/autodiscover.mydomain.co.uk/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml). Alternatively, if you don’t want to change your certificate configuration, we need to create a new SRV record for mail.mydomainname.co.uk
to make your autodiscover succeed in last steps of Srv Record lookup method".
So I followed this and opened Exchange Managemnet Shell and ran the following.....

I opened up 'Internet Information
Services (IIS) Manager to find 2 Server Certificates issues to 'mail.companyname'
with the certificate hash' 62C247B3BD081D0A8B074D4A928A76E6DA3BABBA' and '71ADF367E190E269C1036BBF4A09C55E62536791'.
I opened up the Exchange Management
Console to confirm that the IMAP, POP, IIS, and SMTP services are bound to both of the certificates for 'mail.companyname'.co.uk
I need to know if it is okay to proceed in replacing the certificate and running this
command.

We have this problem with some of our users, in that they get the server unavailable error when trying to activate the out of office.
In our case this is because the Proxy is blocking the connection from the PC to the Exchange, so we just go to Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings - Advanced (under proxy server) then just add *.domain.com into the Exceptions box at the bottom.
This seems to resolve the issue and allow them to set their out of office. The only reason this reoccurs for these users is because their roaming profile for some reason won't save the proxy settings, which is a different issue.

Want to save multiple printer settings using an OfficeJet 8600 and Windows7

I recently bought an OfficeJet 8600 to replace an old OfficeJet L7590. I'm dismayed to discover that the new 8600 does not have the ability to save multiple print configurations. Using the L7590, I was able to combine paper size, orientation, print quality, colour/B&W setting, duplex, etc. and save with a custom name. It was then easy to select from a range of preset configurations each time I printed. Now, on the 8600, I have to dig three layers into the menu and individually set each one of the options - EVERY TIME I PRINT! It seems that Mac users still have the ability to save configurations, at least in a limited way, but not Windows users. What gives?

The default settings can be set as follows: Click Start, Devices and Printers, right click on the Officejet 8600 and select "Printing Preferences". Make the changes you would like and Apply.
The L7590 driver is likely compatible with the Officejet 8600, you could also just install the L7590 driver and change the "port" settings to point at the 8600. You could then use the features you like... Post back here if you want to try this out, I could provide more details.

Unable To Set Custom Print Margins In Safari 5.0.2

Help Please!!
I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to change the "default" margins Safari uses when printing. I have selected different print drivers, added custom paper sizes, even changed monitor resolution – all to no avail. I am trying to format some web content for letter size printing and it looks as though I will have to give in to the quarter-inch top, left, right and half-inch bottom margins Safari so persistently imposes.
I am hoping there is at least one other out there who has fretted over this issue as I have. Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Firefox does seem to have a much more reliable printing engine. Unfortunately, I am using a number of webkit CSS attributes available only within Safari. Gradients being one of these. Perhaps it's time to give up on them and simply render these custom layout elements as images... It's a pity really! Webkit delivers some very promising new technology for cross-media content delivery, yet without reliable print/pdf output control, these technologies and techniques are essentially useless.
I did leave feedback on this issue. Perhaps Apple will come up with a solution before I am forced to rebuild. .I most certainly would appreciate additional ideas and suggestions.

Cannot change custom import settings in iTunes on aac

For some strange reason, my ability to change the AAC import settings in Itunes has very recently been eliminated. when i go to custom AAC it will not allow the drop down any longer? I had this ability!
using Itunes 10.5.3

Trying to set up printer sharing using WRT54G2

After reading the forum I have not been able to find a solution or very dated answers so sorry if this is already answered...
ConfigurationL
- Cable modem as internet access point
- Cisco WRT54G2 (firmware 1.0.04) behind the cable modem to host my home network
- devices attached:
    - Denon Stereo set (hardwired to WRT)
    - PC running vista SP2 (harwired to WRT)
    - Laptop running windows 7 (wireless)
- Printer attached to the PC
What is working
- I can access my PC from my TV/Stereo in the living room for audio sharing
- I can access the internet from all locations
- Printer sharing on PC is setup correctly. I am able to print when replacing the WRT
What is NOT working
- Connection from my (wireless) laptop to my (wired) PC and v.v. This means no file sharing, no printer sharing no nothing.
Some testing:
- PC: ping to WRT works
- PC: ping to laptop works on IP address and hostname
- laptop: ping to WRT works
- laptop: ping to my DENON (wired) stero set works
- PC: ping to my DENON (wired) stero set works
- laptop: ping to PC fails on IP address and hostname
Since this is basic network functionality I guess I have done something wrong but after looking at all the configuration itmes in the router, reading the forum I am not able to detect my problem.

The Workgroup in the wireless laptop and the wired computer should be same and file sharing should be enable on both the computer.The Security firewall should be set to "trust" the network.
Check this link if the computer is Window XP and Check this link if the computer is Window Vista.
