Cannot set Internet Explorer Setting WarnOnZoneCrossing

Hi, I hope anyone can assist with the following strange issue I experience.
I want to disable the security popup you get when switching between http/https websites via a policy. To achieve this I setup a GPO Preference setting that sets this specific key.
The strange thing now is that even if I set the preference value to 0 (zero) it will still get set to 1 (one) after GPUPDATE. I see that two regSetValue actions are executed during GPUPDATE. The first that shows up in PROCMON is the correct seting action
to 0, immediately followed by another RegSetValue that sets it back to 1. This is in both cased done by SvcHost process.
When I watch the activities in that specific registry key using PROCMON while checking the 'official' checkbox in the popup box to "in the future do not show this warning", that the IEXPLORE.EXE process sets the value to 0, and then
when I run GPUpdate again I see that svchost sets it back to 1 which kinda surprises me because I have no policies active that set that property which effectively is shown when I run the Group Policy Admin tool and check the gp-results and winning GPo objects...
Anyone any idea how to search for the reason behind this? It's rather annoying that that setting keeps getting overwritten.
thanks
Eric
Best regards and many thanks in advance, Eric Vegter

Hi Eric,
Before going further, I need to confirm if it is only when group policy refreshes, the value will be overwritten. To check this, we can manually set the value to 0 on a client,
and then we run gpupdate/force to refresh the policy to see if the value will get overwritten.
Besides, what’s the winning GPO for this setting in the group policy result report, the one to set the value to 0? For double check, we can collect the following group policy
result to check the issue:
GPMC log
==================
1. On domain controller, click Start -> Run, type GPMC.MSC, it will load the GPMC console.
2. Right click on "Group Policy Result" and choose wizard to generate a report for the problematic computer and user account (please place appropriately). (Choose computer
and select the proper user in the wizard)
3. Right click the resulting group policy result and click the "Save Report…" => save report to save the report to a HTML file.
Once you get the report, you may upload it to the Skydrive and provide us the download link.
In addition, we can also enable group policy log to check the issue.

  • WINE: Cannot install Internet Explorer 6 on 64-bit system

    Hi everyone
I'm running the 64-bit version of Arch Linux, with WINE 1.3.2 from [multilib] and winetricks installed.
When I try to install ie6 via winetricks (which I need for both work and a game I'm trying to install ), I get the following error message:
The Windows Update: Internet Explorer and Internet Tools cannot be installed on this computer. This product does not install on 64-bit platforms.
After closing this window (i.e. clicking OK), I get another error message, which informs me that "regsvr32.exe has encountered a serious error and needs to close."
So, what gives? WineHQ shows claims of people being able to install it on a 64-bit Linux system; namely, Ubuntu and openSUSE... no Arch results, and I don't want to post "Garbage" if I'm doing something wrong here.
If anyone would help me shed some light on this (and perhaps even fix it!) I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance!

I know about wine-gecko. However, that's not it
edit: update to the problem: I've switched to bin32-wine-suse from AUR. Now I can install IE6, yay
    However, something's still bothering me.
bin32-wine-suse complains about every wineprefix made by "stock" (multilib) WINE being a 64-bit environment, and thus impossible to work with.
So the [multilib] WINE apparently makes a 64-bit Windows-like environment, whatever that would mean to them. I don't really think that's right, knowing how some apps - namely, IE6 and such - complain about this.
    Any ideas?

  • I cannot upload internet Explorer 8 or 9

My window update is asking me to download sp1 every time of the day, whats going on with Microsoft web site has it been hacked? Please help me I' loss with this problem, Thank you

    Hi,
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an important update that includes previously released security, performance, and stability updates for Windows 7. SP1 also includes new improvements to features and services in Windows 7, such as improved reliability when
connecting to HDMI audio devices, printing using the XPS Viewer, and restoring previous folders in Windows Explorer after restarting.
Installing SP1 helps keep Windows 7 up to date.
Windows Update helps keep your PC safer—and your software current—by fetching the latest security and feature updates from Microsoft via the Internet. Windows Update contains software tools that detect information about your computer, such as the make and
model and the version of Windows and other Microsoft software that your computer is running. Microsoft uses that information to install only the updates your computer needs.
If you see a message telling you that important updates are available, or telling you to review important updates, you should click the message to view and select the important updates to install.
For your convenice: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=5842
For your second issue, if possible you may upgrade to IE9 for a test.
    Hope it helps.

    Hello Antoney805:
That is easy you have the same Internet Explorer as I do. Left click on the lock washer icon then select Internet Options. When window opens click on advance tab then click on Reset and then ok. You are all set now. It should restore the Internet Explorer to orginal settings.  If that doesn't work for some unknown reason go to your control pannel some where you should be able to unstall programs on your computer.  Internet Explorer is an update so you want to look for it in  update section not programs list.  Un install and down load a nother copy. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/search#q=internet+explorer   You have to unistall the corrupted one first. Other wise the down load page will say you have the latest version installed. frrw.

I cannot get Internet Explorer to display the video in the page below.

As you can see I have tried converting the clients original Mpeg-4 into different formats for the browsers but I seem to be

  • Can't log on to my banking website(M&T) but I can in Internet Explorer. Happened within the last week or 2.

Can't log on to my online banking site, but it works in IE:
    https://onlinebanking.mandtbank.com/SignOn.aspx
    https://www.mtb.com/personal/Pages/Index.aspx
Gives me a system error(no error code)

I have the same problem and am currently using Firefox 18. I cannot sign into my bank's website. The page just freezes, Firefox stops responding and I have to completely log off my computer to get it to close out. I have tried the following:
    # uninstalled Firefox
    # reinstalled Firefox
    # cleared the cache
    # cleared cookies
    # disabled the add-ons
    # uninstalled Firefox again
    # downgraded to 17.0
    # started in safe mode
    # reset Firefox
    # cleared all personalized data
After each step I'd try logging into the bank and then after logging off my computer, logging back on, clearing the cache, and making sure the cookies were still clear I'd move on to the next step. I've tried everything but absolutely nothing works. I can access my bank site through Internet Explorer and I can also use Firefox on my Android phone! I'm getting thoroughly disgusted with Firefox!!!!!!!!!! I need to be able to access my bank account and I cannot stand Internet Explorer. Fix it MOZILLA!

  • Internet Explorer Unsupported video type or invalid file path? HTML 5

    Hello.
First I would like to salute all you people out there that answer questions in these forums. Thank you! They have been more helpful than my Web Design class.
Here is my problem. I cannot get Internet Explorer to play my video files. It says Unsupported video type or invalid file path. I have added the .htaccess file for MIME types, and included .mp4, .ogg, and .webm. I have also included a smaller resolution for mobile. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
Also if anybody could explain to me in an idiot proof way how to add flash support step by step for this site that would be great. I have searched all over the internet, read many tutorials, used the free code makers, and I still cannot get flash to work.
This is my first website, please go easy on me!

GP-IEM was deprecated when IE10 was released. It's not coming back. Migrate your approach to GPP.

  • Internet Explorer cannot download over HTTPS if Pragma: no-cache is set

    APEX Ver. - 3.2
    DB Ver. - 11.1.0.7
Problem : The apex application generates an XML file and saves it to a table. Users navigate to a report where they have a DOWNLOAD link to download the file. Over HTTPS, when the download link is clicked Internet Explorer (IE7) generates an Error Message saying Internet Explorer cannot download apex_util.get_blob from ...
The same functionality works in Firefox and Chrome.
A blog post on MSDN (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ieinternals/archive/2009/10/03/internet-explorer-cannot-download-over-https-when-no-cache.aspx) describes this problem and one of the reasons contributing to this problem is a pragma declaration of no-cache , is there a way to remove the pragma declaration in the request header?

  • Internet Explorer Privacy Site Allowed equivalent setting in OS X Safari?

I'm assisting a friend with accessing his online tax payment portal from his bank's website using OS X Safari. Under Windows Internet Explorer a site must be added to 'Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Sites>Allowed Site' before the site will load. If the site is not added, a page cannot be found error will occur. On his Mac, I tried looking for a certificate for the website in Key Chain, but couldn't find one. As suggested in another thread about Internet Explorer Trusted Sites and that setting in OS X Safari, I was going to try and change the certificate settings to see if that would help.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Navigate to the site. There should be a small gray padlock icon top right corner of the Safari window. If not, type in the user name (not the password) for the site then you should see the lock icon.
The certificate should drop down for viewing. Click the purple question mark for help.

  • No per user setting for JRE in Internet Explorer on W2K/W2K3 term. server

After installing Sun Java SE on terminal servers (both 2000 &
2003) you have an additional option within Internet Explorer 5.5 & 6.x under tools, intenet options, advanced; called "Java (Sun) Use JRE
XXX (applet) requires restart". This option cannot be set on a per user base. When a user changes this setting, it is changed for ALL terminal server users immediately. This is a big problem.
It should be able to set this on a per user base.
Current key is located at: HLKM\SOFWTARE\Microsoft\Internet
    Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_SUN\SELECT
As some websites require Sun_Java and others won't work at all
when the Sun Java options is selected each user should be able
to select or disable this option on a per user base.
    How can we accomplish this?

Hello. Sorry, don't have an answer for your issue. Just wondering whether you've experienced this issue in your Windows Server 2003 envionmnet.
We're running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) (and Citrix Presentation Server 4.0). We typically have 20+ concurrent users logged on to a server. Since JRE 1.5.0_7, we've had issues with Internet Explorer taking upwards of 15 seconds to display even though Iexplore.exe appears in Task Manager almost immediately. If we uninstall JRE 1.5.0_7 and use 1.4.2_6, Internet Explorers displays fine. We've tried JRE 1.5.0_11 and 1.6.0_3, and Internet displays slowly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any thoughts of why this is occuring? Thanks.

  • In Internet Explorer I can set Trusted Sites, how do I do this in Firefox?

MS Internet Explorer browser, in the security settings, has the ability to set "Trusted Sites". Sites that I trust that will not harm my computer and are thus allowed to open pop-ups and other features that are needed to interact with the website.
I am unable to get data feeds when using Firefox and the help desk supporting my application requested me to add their url's as Trusted Sites in my browser. I am able to do this with the MS Browser but I cannot find an equivalent function in Firefox.

There is actually a setting in the prefs.js file that you can set that will add "trusted sites" to Firefox. Open a windows explorer window, browse to your local appdata directory via "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles". There you should find a subfolder with a ".default" title. Look inside for a "prefs.js" file.
In prefs.js, look for this line:
user_pref("network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris"); then simply add the site you want to trust. i.e.
    user_pref("network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris", "http://www.msn.com");
Open Firefox and viola, trusted site is good to go.
You can also do this in Firefox. Type about:config in the address bar, tell it "I'll be careful, I promise", then look for the entry:
    network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris
Double click it and then add your site using http://<site url here>
