Cannot set ringtones for people in my adress book

i have wiped handheld twice and still cannot set individual ringtones for people in my adress book that is different than the general ring was able too on my last phone and it was exact same phone

I want to have a ringtone for people one my contact list and a different tone for people not on my contact list, which for me is always commercial that I do not even want to pick up.

To do this, you would have to assign the ringtone to each contact individually, and then set the default tone to something different under the Sounds menu in Settings.

No way to set ringtones for whatsapp

Cannot Set URL For Report Server SSL Binding In SSRS 2008R2

Hi,
I have an SSL certificate that has a number of subject alternate names and I need the SSL binding for the report server and the report manager to be against one of these names, not the certificate name.
However, while it is possible to set the host header for a non-SSL identity and therefore control the URL reserved, it does not seem possible to set this for an SSL identity - the edit dialogue box simply generates the URL when you choose the certificate
from the dropdown box.
How do I set the URL for a report server SSL binding?

You are correct, i am configuring SSL connections on a native mode report server and i want to configure a custom URL for it.
However, my issue is not that I cannot see the certficate - it is that I cannot set a custom URL for SSL connections. Apologies, I should have written up an example of what I am seeing:-
I have installed a certificate for a.company.com. It shows up fine in the certificate list/dropdown for configuring the web service URL SSL certificate.
I can set a host header for non-SSL traffic for a.company.com and the binding succeeds. I can also set an SSL identity in the same Advanced Multiple Web Site Configuration window for a.company.com and this also binds correctly.
However, the certficate is like a wildcard in that it supports 4 more URLs in its subject alternate name property. I would like to set an SSL identity for b.company.com which is one of those entries.
As an aside, the certificate is also installed in IIS and succeeds in binding to b.company.com. I mention this as it shows that the certificate appears to be installed correctly and is working in its wildcard-like capacity.
I can also successfully set a host header for b.company.com for the report server for non-SSL traffic. It is b.company.com that I would like to host the report server and manager under.
The issue I have is that if I try to add an SSL identity for the report server web service for b.company.com using the Advanced Multiple Web Site Configuration window, there is no editable box for URL and so it does not allow me to set the URL/host
header - it therefore always binds to a.company.com.
I have scoured the boards for answers and there have been a couple of mentions, but neither has worked for me.

is the same as without the configuration:-

Another suggestion (for which I have lost the link) was to amend the URL config in that file directly and add the required entry. Both posters claim it has worked for them so I am sure that using a wildcard certificate with SSRS does work! I think in my
case I am missing some extra steps as it is fine to amend the config file directly, but I don't think this actually kicks off the SSL/URL binding process which is what the dialogue window does.
Hope this helps in explaining further. I am sure this is resolvable as I cannot believe the only option for SSRS is to bind to a single domain name and ignore the other wildcard/alternate options.

How do I set ringtones for specific people on my iPhone 4S?

I recently upgraded from my 3GS to a 4S. I remember when I set the ringtones on the 3GS is was quite easy and intuitive being a selection off of the contacts page iirc. The interface seems to have changed adn I can't figure it out now.

Select a contact and open the info for that contact then tap edit and godown to ringtones and tap that and then select from the list that appears and tap save

Cannot set ringtone!!

I have had my Palm Pro for a while now, this is my second one actually and my first one had the same problem. How exactly do you change your incoming call ringtone? I put my ringtones in the My Ringtones folder. I long select and choose "set as ringtone". A confirmation box even comes up and says "ringtone changed". yet my ringtone is still the default ringtone. I had this same problem on my other Palm Pro so I know the phone isn't buggy. I even go to the Sounds and Notifications section under settings, go to manage, and I see all my ringtones there. It shows all the sounds that are in my phone and when i click them it only gives me options to beam or delete, etc. It wont allow me to assign any of these sounds, only listen to them or beam them to another device.
Am I doing something wrong here? Is there something I am missing?

MP5 and WMA. I DLd them directly from Microsofts web site as well. None of them were too large in size either.

Unable to set ringtone for each contact

After upgrade to the 5.1.1 iOS I was not able to set individual ringtone to each of contact anymore.
All my contacts are using the same default ringtone when ever anyone calls.
When I go into contact and hit edit I can see the different ringtone already setup for each contact and when I click it I can hear it play just fine. Then I exit and went back to main screen and try to call the phone and it still using the default ringtone.
Any idea how did this happen or how to fix it? I am trying not to reset the phone.

When you call your phone from another, is your iPhone picking up the caller ID that is in your Contacts, or does the incoming call just have a number (or maybe "unavailable")?
Also, there should be no harm in Resetting your iPhone, that is not the same as Restoring it (even if you did Restore it, you could back it up first and re-load the backup as long as your Contacts and Camera Roll are backed up somewhere).

[SOLVED] cannot set keyboard for X clients

I just set up Arch on my Samsung NC20 a few days ago after a couple of years on Ubuntu. I'm enjoying it so far, but I've run into the following problem. I've tried to set my keyboard to 'uk' but I only get a UK keyboard at login time. As soon as I launch an X client, I am back with a US keyboard. (In case it matters, I've mainly been using wmii, LilyTerm, and Firefox. I have no desktop.)
My /etc/vconsole.conf file reads
KEYMAP=uk
and I set up a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-keyboard-locale.conf that reads as follows:
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "Keyboard Defaults"
MatchIsKeyboard "yes"
Option "XkbLayout" "uk"
EndSection
The option 'uk' is indeed present on my machine (although I tried 'gb' too, to no avail). When I look in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty I find uk.map.gz; and I get a UK keyboard when I log in, as I said.
One weird thing is that if I run
setxkbmap -layout uk
from the command line in LilyTerm, I get the following:
No protocol specified
Cannot open display ":0"
I don't know if that's relevant.
Can anyone help? How can I set my keyboard to 'uk' for X clients?

As far as I know, there is no uk layout for xorg and keymap ≠ X keyboard layout. Always check /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst.
cat /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst | grep UK
gb English (UK) # keyboard layout (following lines are variants)
extd gb: English (UK, extended WinKeys)
intl gb: English (UK, international with dead keys)
dvorak gb: English (UK, Dvorak)
dvorakukp gb: English (UK, Dvorak with UK punctuation)

Try adding setxkbmap -layout gb to your .xinitrc file and see if it solves the problem.

Cannot set border for JPanel

I am not able to select any border for a JPanel, except <default>, in the property window of the visual designer. I can insert a statement by hand to get the border (e.g.: jPanel1.setBorder(new javax.swing.border.EtchedBorder());
), but I would like to do it with the visual designer. Is this a missing feature or do I do something wrong?

You first have to make a Border object in your source code, then it will allow you to select the border.
example:
import javax.swing.border.*;
public class MyFrame1
// Create a border object in your class
// Add this next line, and change it to
// create the type of border you want.
Border borderPanel1 = BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder();
after this, you can use the inspector to set the border property (you should see borderPanel1 in the combobox of choices)

N97: Can you set a ringtone for all unknown caller...

I just moved to a Nokia N97 from a Palm Treo Pro. So far so good, but one thing I cannot seem to find any information on is whether or not you can set ringtones for all unknown callers, like you can on a palm? This was one of my favorite features for palm phones.
If you cannot set a specific ringtone for all unknown callers on the handset itself, does anyone know of an application I can download that would enable this?

While you're waiting for that application. You can put everyone in a group and set specific tones for each group then the default ring tone will sound when unknown people call you

MMS (setting a ringtone for text messages)

Is there an option or way that allows you to set a ringtone for text messages. I previously had a Samsung Instict with another carrier and you could do that as well set ringtones for your contacts. Perhaps this will be in a new software update?? Thanks

Set defaults for contacts

HI,
Can anyone tell me how to set the defaults for the contacts. Right now when I save a number in the contacts it is automatically set as a "work" number. I want it to automatically be a mobile number. This will save a lot of cut and pasting. Thanks.

Hello, i have the 11.101 version and I imported all my contacts via PC suite and I CAN use the defaults option and the ringtone can be anything I want (apart for video ringtones-they don't work).

Ringtones for callers to listen to

In the older version of the operating system you could buy ringtones for people to listen to when they called. With the newer verisons, I cannot do this. Is there a way to do this on OS 4.3.4?

I don't recall any version of the OS that let you use ringtones as music on hold. Well, I do but only if you jailbroke your iPhone. Perhaps this is what you did? Or you can call your cell provider and see if they off a music on hold service.

1. Set any of your songs on your SDcard as a phone ringtone:
Touch Apps > My music
While the music is playing, touch the phone Menu Key > More > Use as ringtone
The ringtone is set as your default incoming call ringtone and copied to your Phone ringtone list.
Note: The above instructions are for the My music player and not for other players such as Play music.      2. Choose Phone ringtones through settings menu:
Press the Menu key
Touch Settings
Touch Sound
Touch Phone ringtone (If option is greyed out, make sure handset volume is not set to Silent Mode)
Select a Phone ringtone from the list. Press OK to set. (Music files you have set as Incoming Call ringtone from your SDcard will be included in this list along with downloaded and preloaded ringtones.
3. Customize the text message ringtone
From the homescreen or from within the applications tray, touch Text messaging
Press the Menu key (On the left with 4 squares)
Touch Messaging Settings
Touch Select ringtones (if option is greyed out, make sure Notifications is turned on / actived)
Touch on any Notification ringtone to select and hear a sample.
Press OK to set as notification ringtone

4. Assign a ringtone to a specific contact:
Press Contacts icon on homescreen or tap on Contacts application from the Applications Tray
Touch and select the specific contact
Press the menu key
Touch Options

Choose a Phone ringtone from the list and tap OK to set.
Note: To assign a music/song from your memory card as a ringtone, first follow step1 above and follow step 4 again. 5. Download ringtones from the Play Store
