Cannot set up AOL mail for iPhone

How can I set up AOL mail to receive on my iPhone in the "All Inboxes" location. I have deleted my old AOL account and added a new one with same user name and updated password but I receive the message that "wrong username or password for imap.AOL.com"

Hmm... looks like this is an issue for that email provider for some reason.
A user in a bt.com forums recommends turning off Push Emails settings.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Turn Push Off.
Coudln't hurt to try it and see if the issue resolves itself.

I cannot send an e-mail for my 3GS iPhone using port 110; how do I find the right port? I have always used this port but now it does not work. I can send e-mails from my iPad using this port.

The port is determined by your Email Service Provider. So first off, who is your email provider?
Port 110 is not a standard port for sending. 25, 465 and 587 are the standard SMTP ports (sending) and 110, 143 and 995 are the standard POP/IMAP ports (receiving).

Reset your password. Be sure your new one meets the requirements for length (8) and characters (at least one upper case and one number).

Unknown error when trying to set up aol mail

AOL just stopped working as of 10am today! I sent mails this morning and now I cannot get AOL to work. I deleted the account and tried to set up AOL Mail again and I keep getting an "Unknown Error" message! HELP......

Check your spam folder to be sure it isn't there. If not, try going to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and Manage your account. There should be a link there to resend the verification email.

Since FF 3.6 was installed I cannot open my AOL mail on FF. BING Search page blocks ALL mail. I go to old basic method for AOL. BING is annoying and obstructive!

Is Bing the chosen search engine for FF.? How do I get it from essentially blocking my AOL mail which cannot be read using FF?

Cannot set up POP mail - only IMAP?

For some reason, I cannot set up my iPhone to retrieve mail from a POP3 server. There's no option to choose to set up a POP account specifically, and it keeps failing, telling me that "The IMAP server pop.myisp.co.uk" is not responding. It also seems to insist on trying to connect over port 143, which is IMAP, not POP.
What do I have to do to set up a POP account? Has POP support been discontinued for IOS4?
This all worked perfectly well before the IOS4 'upgrade'...

Problem was the POP/IMAP button at the top of the screen was not displayed, as the screen was partially scrolled - in other words, the button was only visible by dragging the screen downwards to see the button at the top. Very odd, but at least I got it sorted out.

this is the way apple mail works for iphone...
can i configure it this way on mac OS X leopard ?

You can set it up to not download any message until you click on one in the list to read. This is done in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced by selecting to not keep copies of messages and their attachments, or can limit it to keep with the attachments. However, Search of the entire message depends upon having these temporary copies on board you Mac.

Cannot set field in mail rule

Hi - I have been trying to set the following rule in Mail:-
For any email older than 30 days then move mail to mailbox XXX.
I set the parameters correctly and save the rule, but everytime it reverts the value from 30 days to 7 days, i.e. if I rep-open the rule in the preferences then it says 7 days rather than 30 days.
Any idea what's wrong?

Keep in mind that most of the code for all the apps was re-written for Snow Leopard, so I am hoping things like that were just overlooked and will be corrected eventually as people point them out. But, that might be getting too close to speculation, so that's as much as I'll comment.
