Cannot setup credit card for purchase - defaults to U.S. as country

I want to purchase some TV shows from the itunes site. I have never purchased anything from itunes before. I have an apple ID, which I have set up with my canadian address. I click to purchase the show, enter in my apple id (so far so good), itunes recognizes that I haven't purchased from the site before and prompts me to enter in my credit card info and address... which I do. However, the address defaults to United States for the country and only gives me US states to choose from... but i live in Canada. Needless to say my credit card info does not match up and I get errors. I have retried this numerous times with the same result. I even tried changing my apple ID but still no luck. How Can I fix this?

Max, unfortunately the reason why you are having so much trouble is TV content is only available in the US store at this point in time. This is not Apple's fault. Until the copyright holders in Canada for the TV content license Apple to distribute, TV content is unavailable. Sorry!

I have registered a credit card for purchasing apps from the app store. My bank has issued a new chip based card and now the 16 digit numbers have changed. How do I register the new card for flowless purchases?

Go to Apple Menu > App Store > View my account > sign in and then edit the payment details with the new card details.
I am assuming that your card and supporting bank are in the same country as your residential (billing) address and that you are using the App Store of that country.

  • TS1646 I use and overseas credit card for purchases but Itunes is insisting on a credit card issued within NZ where I live.?

Why can I not use and overseas credit card for purchases?  My account information is insisting on a credit card issued within my country of residence..?

iTunes doesn't allow a credit card that was issued by a bank in another country (possibly because it's a way of confirming that you are able to buy from a country's store) - you will only be able to use a credit card issued by a New Zealand bank. Or you could use iTunes gift cards as your payment method, as far as I can see they are available in New Zealand.

  • I share a an apple id with my kids. We all use the same credit card for purchases.  Is it possible for only me to use the icloud online storage without making this available or visible to the kids?

My kids and I all use the same credit card and password for app and music purchases.   I'm assuming we all use the same apple ID too. (not sure) We can share apps and music although we all have our own itunes libraries. Is it possible for only me to use the icloud online storage without making this available or visible to the kids or do we all have our own storage?

I just checked and they have already sucked up all my online storage.  Ahhh techy teens!  I think I will just leave it at that and back my own stuff up on my computer. Less confusing
Thanks for all the help!  I am definitely more educated now and I'm off to check that cc bill too.

  • HT3702 I continue to be charged on my credit card for purchases I am not making on itunes. I have switched credit cards and this contines to happen. I have reported the problem on each specific purchase. What else do I do?

I continue to get charged on my credit for purchases I am not making on itunes. They are all small purchases such as $4.99, $1.99, $6.99 but have added to almost $300 in total. I keep clicking on them as report a problem. I have switched credit cards but this continues to happen. What do I do? Seems like there is no number to call. Wish I could talk to a person rather than trying to navigate this through the internet.

How are they showing up on your account e.g. are they auto-renewing subscriptions that you haven't stopped : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
Does anyone else have access to your account and/or devices that might be making them ?
If you can't work out where they are coming from then you could contact iTunes support and ask them for help (we are fellow users here on these forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If they aren't showing on your account's purchase history then you should also contact your card issuer.

  • Can I use a friend's credit card for purchasing Creative Cloud?

I tried, but the screen kind of hung when I pressed the continue button after pressing the Continue button.  See the image below:
I tried the customer care, but let's say that they just suck.
I was wondering if anyone has purchased Credit cloud using someone else's credit card?
    Thanks.

That's what I thought. But, it occured to me that, like for Apple Developer program you need to have a credit card in your own name, maybe Adobe has similar restrictions.
The credit card is functional, the friend is using it for purchasing stuff on iTunes.
In that case, is it normal for the transaction page to hang after filling in all the credit card info? I did wait for around 15 mins before closing the window. I've even confirmed that no money has been deducted from the friend's account. So, that means the transaction was unsuccessful. I just need a confirmation from someone who has purchased Creative Cloud using someone else's credit card, before trying again.

  • HT204053 change my credit card for purchases

Would like to change the credit card I use. When I log in and use my ID, purchase goes through the old card. Now I know I can chabge the cards, just can't find the links???

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to view your account's details via the Store > View My Account menu option, and on the top part of the page that you are then taken to there should be an Edit button/text to the right of your current payment information.

  • HT201209 Why is it still using credit card for purchase?

We have 2 devices, a new mini iPad, and an iPod touch, one is my sons but both are registered in my name and account info. We put 2 $15 dollar codes in and it says $30 credit. When my son buys a song on his iPod, It still takes it out of credit card.. Why is it not using gift credits?

I have this question too. I have plenty of credit, yet it still shows a pending transaction on my credit card. I'm guessing/hoping it show the "pending" until its actually taken from the gift card, which may take 24-48 hours...this is usually the delay before receiving the email that states the transaction was made.
Can anyone confirm this? Or let us know what is really going on???

You edit your account and add the credit card as a payment method. See:

Hello, I have changed my location and credit card for my apple id. All purchased apps I had before are lost. How can I get back my purchased apps? Thanks.

If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

  • How would I use a credit card for In-app purchases instead of my gift card credit?

I have a gift card credits linked to my account, but I do not want to use it for an in-app purchase.  I want to use my credit card for the purchase.  Is there any way around this?

You can't for in-app purchases, when you have a balance on your account then that will automatically be used for your purchases.
For other types of purchase you can try gifting the item to yourself so that your credit card is charged (gifting can only be done via a credit card), but you can't do that with IAPs.

  • HT204088 I've noticed a charge on my credit card for $8.49 each month.  I looked at my Apple iTunes purchases and don't see it in my purchase history.  How do I find out what this charge is for?

I've noticed a charge on my credit card for $8.49 each month.  I looked at my Apple iTunes purchases and don't see it in my purchase history.  How do I find out what this charge is for?

If it's happening every month then it's likely to be an auto-renewing subscription - there are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098

  • HT2731 i used debit card for purchasing i dont have credit card now its showing your payment method is decline use another payment method what shoul i do i dont have credit card

i used debit card for purchasing i dont have credit card now its showing your payment method is decline use another payment method what should i do i dont have credit card or any another account

I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. You could try contacting iTunes support and see if they can help, but I don't think you will be able to use a debit card : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
Are iTunes gift cards available in your country ? They are not available in all, and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue), but if there you could possibly use them as your payment method.
