Cannot setup email account

Hi, I have had my Blackberry Torch for a while now. When I first got it I tried to setup the email account but for some reason my email address was already there, it said all I have to do is type in my password, so I did. But it keeps saying 'Sorry, unable to continue your session. Try again later'. How do I get my email to work? Or how do I delete the email completely and start again? Please help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Inside of the same email configuration wizard, you can remove any account that is already there, and thereby start over clean.
KB04620 How to delete an email account integrated with BlackBerry Internet Service
KB02189 How to associate email addresses with the BlackBerry Internet Service account
If you cannot do so via the on-device wizard, then try, from your BB Browser, this site:
www.blackberry.com/integrate
Further, from a PC/browser, you can access your BIS account (which is what this all is) if your carrier provides such an interface:
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
Last but not least, you can ring up your mobile service provider as they manage your BIS account for you.
Hopefully something amidst that will work for you!

  • Cannot setup email account always asking for password

Just got the IPad3 and setting up my email account.  I tried setting it up the same way as my IPhone.  Had  the email account and password entered but when I exit, it gives me a message saying that it may not be able to send or received mail.  I don't know what else is missing from the setup.
When I try to open my email, it always asks for the password, entered the password again but does not open my email.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

  • Cannot add email accounts, no browser no BIS, Nothing!

    Hello
I recently came back from New York (I live in the Cayman Islands) and i had bought a Blackberry Curve 8300 at an electronics store there with hopes of using it when i got back.
I went to my mobile network t get the BIS connected but i was told that it could not be connected because my PIN was still on the T-Mobiles network.
I called T-Mobile and they said that the phone is not on their system so i must contact RIM
First of all when i try to setup my internet the only thing that comes up is "I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server"> so i think this phone is registered with RIM on a BES but i want BIS for personal use.
I upgraded the OS to see if that would help but that did nothing. The browser is also missing. It shows that it is there in the applications list but its not on the home screen (even when i show all)
I tried to register on BIS via the Blackberry site but i keep getting the error message " Invalid PIN and IMEI format". I know i have the right PIN and IMEI.
When i go to Security Options> general options>Services  i see ***No Services***
When i go to Options> Advanced i see in the list Enterprise Activation (i dont have a enterprise account)
Could it be that it is still on the BES and thats what causing the problem. I think this phone is already on a account on the blackberry network and cannot be reregistered unless it is removed. I just bought it at an electronic store and everyone is saying that i need to contact the previous owner but thats not gonna happen. i am in the cayman islands and i bought it through an electronics store (i doubt even they know the original owner)
    Please help...

HI and Welcome to the Forums!
The issue is not BES at all. Rather, the issue is that your BB PIN remains locked to the original carrier (from what you posted, TMobile). There may actually be two steps you need to conduct:
    1) Unlocking the BB from the original carrier:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_unlock_my_BlackBerry%3F
    2) Unlocking your BB PIN from the original carriers BIS system. The carrier controls BIS, not RIM. The carrier must release the PIN from their BIS before your new carrier can assign a BIS account to the PIN. You must convince one of the two carriers to conduct the escalation to RIM...if you escalate yourself, there will be fees (RIM does not provide first line support...the carrier do). When you contact them, be sure they first escalate you to their internal BB support team...then if they decide they can do so, they can escalate into RIM.
Good luck and let us know!

  • I cannot edit email account info or add new account

On my daughter's iPad (iPad first gen, 32GB 3G), the lines for editing email account and adding accounts are grey/inactive.
I have reset (hard turn off/on) the unit, synced and updatet to latest iOS, but it still remains the same.
I think it may have happened after I hooked her desktop computer up to the same email a few weeks ago, and I know how to set it up correctly so the account will work on both units with IMAP - but I am not allow to edit or do anything with it on the iPad.
    Any tips?

    I   N E E D   H E L P   T O O! ! !
Problem:  I have two Apple ID's
ID# 1 was  (and still is) my primary ID which has an email account assigned to it that no longer exist, therefore any purchases whatsoever are sent to this invalid email adress.
ID# 2 - I cannot access this account to make it the priority account on my iPad (due to ID# 1 being the primary account) so that all purchases can be sent to the email address accociated with this account.
Everything would be so much easier if I could just delete ID# and just use ID # 2 which as a valid email adress.
Even if I try to change the email adress within the settings for ID# 1on my iPad, and type in my current email address it gives me the error that this email address is in use and cannot be used.  Well, no kidding! I am the user and it is used for ID# 2 where it was originally setup.  basically I want to start over but how do I get my iPad to accept a new ID with an already previously used email which is associated with another ID???

  • E72 - cannot setup email using WLAN

    Hi,
I cannot setup any email account using a WLAN connection. It keeps directing me to the network connection. Is there a way around this?

I've faced the same problem and it is annoying!
I couldn't set up my emails through my WLAN connection. I have always a WLAN access point(in home and in my campus). I don't need any GPRS(or say 3G) connection but just for that problem i purchased a weekly connection package. I checked the priority settings but I couldnt. Nokia should take an action about this

  • Cannot setup email

I'm new to using a blackberry, recieved a pre-used Pearl 9105. It seems as though its been "wiped" hence i cannot setup my email on it. I cant find the email setup icon anywhere?
Although when I go tho Settings-Options-Applications-Core there are details of the applications properties? Does this suggest that it was once there?
Please help? How can I restore email on the device?

There should be an icon that says "Setup". In there is the option to set up Email. (I think it's the same on OS 5 and 6...)
Alternatively you can go into your messages->menu->"Options"
    "Email Account Management"
This is assuming that you have a viable data plan to send and receive emails...

  • Can not setup email account on Bold 9900 with office 365 POP PORT 995

Hellow Please your support. I can not add an office 365 POP account wih SSL 995 portpop3: outlook.office365.com SSL  port 995smtp: smtp.office365.comSSL port 587On a computer the setup go throught with no problem. If there a way to set the port when add an email account ?

Microsoft told you that? Very strange. Did you even try the wizard? Oops...Oh shoot...you are on an old legacy BB device with BIS. Sorry, forgot about that. EAS does not work with BIS, but if they face OWA to the internet for this email, it can integrate with that. I'm pretty sure that Office365 faces OWA.
I don't remember about configuring POP...I gave it up years ago. Only use IMAP and EAS now, no need for ancient POP. • Can't get 8530 to let me setup email accounts.

I just got a new 8530 Curve.  When I go to setup my hotmail, yahoo, gmail, email accounts it won't let me.  Is this Verizon's problem or with the phone?  I'd like to get it done.  Thanks.

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service. See this FAQ:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for
BIS is a service, hosted by your carrier/RIM, that is enabled when you subscribe, from your carrier, to an adequate data plan (the last one described in the FAQ). BIS enables your BB to do all of those things listed in the FAQ. For email, BIS functions as the intermediary between your BB and your email service(s)...it is what enables (from the perspective of the BB) true PUSH email.
You have a BIS account, managed by your carrier. BIS accounts can (not MUST) have credentials. Credentials for BIS are needed if you wish to access your settings (email configurations, for example) from a PC/browser since there is no way for BIS to recognize you -- when you use your BB, it knows who you are and can get into your account without credentials. But, once BIS credentials are created, they must thereafter be used via the BB interface as well -- but it has a checkbox for "remember me" so you only have to enter those credentials on the BB once.
So, it would seem that someone created credentials on your BIS account. It could have been the carrier for whatever reason. In any event, you need to contact them so that you can have the credentials and use BIS...you must be able to log into BIS in order to add new email configurations, modify existing ones (when you change your email password, for instance -- that is stored inside of BIS so that it can retrieve and deliver email to you), and other things (e.g., Sending Service Books when there is a problem).
Contact your carrier. They will likely need you to tell them something so that they can validate who you are. They can then reset the BIS account credentials so that you can again use it.
    Hope that helps!

    Hello !
It seems you dont have BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) Plan activated on your device.
Contact your service provider for its activation.
Once your BIS is activated, you will see "EDGE" or "3G" symbol on homescreen.
Then try to setup your email account.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • E72 - Cannot delete email account

Had problems setting up two email accounts on my E72. Now set up ok, however I have been left with one of the failed accounts that I cannot remove. This account is in emails and is listed under settings but when I try to remove it it sitill remains. I can not open this account in settings either. Any help on how to romove this account would be appreciated.

    1. Login to email.nokia.com
    2. After login is COMPLETE, check the server name in the browser window
    3. Enter the name EXACTLY to the "settings" ==> SELECT ACCOUNT ==>  "account settings" ==> "account information" ==> "server name"
    4. Select "Back"  (It is the right key)
    5. You will see some messages and after that the account is either functional or at least you can delete.
(THROUGHT THE FORUM,  account deletion problems are most likely happening due to server changes where your account information is stored. It happened to me that when I first created the account, the server was different then what I found today (it was a different server), when I solved my problems). When email.nokia.com ACCOUNTS are not in sync with your PHONE ACCOUNTS, this is most likely the problem. I hope it will help many.
Just one more thing: You will need to enter your email.nokia.com password in "settings" ==> SELECT ACCOUNT ==>  "account settings" ==> "account information" ==> "Password"

Do you need a sim card and data plan inorder to create an email account on the E72? I don't have a sim in my e72 only wifi access most things seem to work such as sending/receiving email and surfing the internet. But can you NOT add a new email account with out a cellular data plan or sim card inserted?

Mail for Exchange and Lotus Traveler should work on WiFi, but the Nokia messaging accounts need Operator connection (at least for initial setup).
