Cannot setup Exchange email in windows 8.1

Hi,
I've just installed windows 8.1 on my laptop and now wanting to setup an email account through the control panel but when I get there I click on the Mail (Outlook 2013)(32-bit) nothing happens.  it will not take me to the next screen to let me start
setting up a new mail account which is an exchange account by the way.
is this a problem with windows or mail?
i'm not sure if I am in the right forum to ask this question.
thanks,
ted.

Hi,
First, please check if you can setup an email account on another computer.
Besides, please check the following path to see if you can click the cpl file.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\MLCFG32.CPL
And please check the registry path below to see if the path is right.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\Cpls
If the above is ok, I recommend you check the installation of Office 2013: Click-to-Run or MSI. If it is Click-to-Run, I recommend you switch to use an MSI-based Office edition to check the result. For more details about this, you can refer to the following
article.
Click-to-Run: Switch to using an MSI-based Office edition

If the issue persists, in order to resolve it more efficiently, I recommend you post to Office forum which is staffed by more experts specializing in this kind of problems. You might get a better answer there.

  • Default email app cannot setup exchange email account, but Touchdown app can

Hello, I have been trying for two days to setup an exchange email account (my work's account) in a Xperia Z3 with no success. It works fine with my iphone and it also works fine in all my colleagues Android phones. In my Xperia I go to add new account --> put my email account and username --> select exchange activesync --> and I put my doman\username, password, server, SSL and also leave the 443 port (though I have tried many aleternatives), but it can never connect.
I was thinking about returning my Xperia as I need my work's email and calendar in my phone, but then I downloaded the Touchdown app whic is an email app for exchange accounts. I used the exact same setup configuration and it worked flawlessly.
The issue is that I still would like to use my default email app for all my email accounts, including exchange. Is anybody having the same issue? Is it a bug in the Xperias Z3 email app? Will it be solved? Now I am using the Touchdown app (it costs 20 $) but in my opinion Sony's email app should solve this issue.
Thanks in advance for your help

I am having the same issue with my Sony Xperia Z3v. This is now the second Sony phone in as many weeks I have tried neither functions properly with exchange email. My corporate email is with rackspace.com and while I can go in and set up the account the phone does NOT recieve emails via push. I only get emails when I manually have the email application refresh. Calendars and tasks also DO NOT sync automatically via push. I really need a fix for this or I'm going to have to send this device back to verizon for a Samsung phone. I like many of the features of the sony device over the samsung but Email is a major problem for me this being a company phone.

  • Cannot setup work email using SSL on non standard port

    All,
I've been trying now for a few hours to setup a corporate email account.  I've tried via the curve and via the bb internet service but in both cases since the service cannot detect the settings since a non standard port is in use I cannot use the the service and am considering returning the device to go with another easier to use device.  I love the hardware design but if I cannot setup my corporate email this is no good to me.  I'd appreciate any tips anyone has.
    Thanks,
      Frustrated.

Your corprorate email account is an exchange server or what?
You are on a personal BIS plan?

  • Cannot setup personal email; missing icons and setup options

OK, I just recieved a used (although wiped) Blackberry Curve 8310. I'm super frustrated with trying to set up my personal email address. I'm college educated and pretty intelligent, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get my Gmail account to run directly from my **bleep** smartphone, without having to resort to Google's Gmail app.
I've tried to follow a lot of the online documentation, the user manual, etc., but the contents of my phone deviate from that of the intructions. For example, Google's instructions for setting up IMAP on your Blackberry instruct you to go into the Blackberry Setup >> Personal Email Setup. Personal Email Setup does not exist on my Blackberry, only the option to set up enterprise email. Fail.
Blackberry's own site instructs the user to either click on the Email Setup icon on the home screen (don't have said icon) or run the setup wizard and select "I want to create or add an email address" (no such option exists in the setup wizard, just an option that reads "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server.") Fail x2.
Further, I've set up my Gmail account through the Blackberry site, but apparently that didn't do much of anything. Fail x3. I've also then sent "service books" to my device in desparation. Fail x4.
I've also gone into Advanced Options >> Host Routing Table >> Register Now, and I've waited over an hour to something... anything good to happen. Again, I've been disappointed. Fail x5.
I'm running the Blackberry OS 4.5. I'd like just like the ability to use native, basic email.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
As per the above, you likely do not have an adequate data plan from your carrier. Contact them to find out about gaining a data plan from them that will enable the Personal Email option on that screen. Or -- if you indeed already are setup by your company for Enterprise email, it may be that they restrict the use of personal email accounts on corporate BBs.
    Good luck!

  • Help: iPhone 3G 2.2 cannot setup Exchange

    Hi Hi,
I can't seems to setup Exchange on iPhone but certain that the settings are correct. The settings are as follow:
    Server: https://webmail.company.com/exchange
    Domain: serverID
    Username: userID
    Password: userpassword
    SSL: On
The above settings are the same settings I had for Entourage and the same information I entered for OWA.
    What am I missing?
    Pls help?
    Many Thanks

    Hi!
I don't want to make a new thread, there are a lot of them...
    My problem is the following:
I'm trying to set up an Exchange account on my Iphone, but it won't work. I mailed myself the corporate .cer certificate file and installed it, but by the Mail Account generation it could not verify the server.
Now I'm trying to make a config file with the Iphone Configuration Tool, but during the installation I get this message:
"An error occured while concating server.
Without verifying the account no information will be downloaded when the installation finishes."
What should I do? I checked in the Settings/General and the Profile of my company's cert exists as Unsigned!

  • Setup icloud email in windows 8 issue

I've just upgraded to Windows 8 and am having an issue adding my iCloud account to the mail app. I've added the mail with the following settings:
    Username = <my email>@me.com
    imap.mail.me.com
    SSL = on
    Port = 993
    smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL = on
    Port = 587 (also tried 25)
Outgoing server requires authentication = yes
Use the same username and password to send and receive email = yes
I seem to be receiving email fine, but when I send an email it takes a long while to 'sync', then it notifies me that <my email>@me.com is unavailable. Using the same settings on other non-Win8 devices seems to be working.
Anyone have any clues as to what I'm doing wrong here (aside from upgrading to Win 8; haha)? Thanks.
    Cheers,
    me

I am having the same problems, but the thing is none of the said settings work. I've tried different settings from different threads regarding this problem. Removed my account and setting it up again almost every day now. I'd get lucky once in a while the one email gets sent every time I reinstalled my account, but then it won't send again. Its soooooo stressful! This problem has left me stressed out since I got my computer 4days ago, because I cannot send emails to my clients. my ***@me.com email works fine in all my devices except my pc which works on windows8.
if any one can help me with the settings, I would very much appreciate it.
I can receive mails through my IMAP settings, but not through SMTP... my SSL is turned off and tried ports 25 and 587 already, but none of the ports are working for me.

  • Cannot setup exchange with apple mail

Here is the situation. I am trying to setup apple mail to the exchange system at work.  When I enter the password (which I know is correct), I get the following error message:
Logging in to the Exchange server “mail.bus.msu.edu” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages.
Consequently, I cannot access the mail system.
I have been able to setup my other various mail accounts but this one persists in not working?  Any suggestions.

Is the autodiscover information properly set up?  Generally this should "just work" automatically if stuff is set up properly on the Exchange side.  You may need to check the setup instructions for your educational institution and contact them if the autodiscover records are incorrectly set up.

  • Cannot setup new Email Account.

Hello all, I am new to this forum, so forgive me if I am in the wrong area and feel free to point me in the right direction.
I tried sending a message to [email protected] but of course - in the bit bucket it goes. Don't know why they post this email address on their site if they have no intention of HELPing...
    So here is the story:
I am a consultant and have a client that has a BB Curve. He has been using a certain provider inet for his email. He has now changed to a different provider (for technical reasons). I have tried to setup his new email account for the new provider – I also use a BB curves and have performed this operation for over 50 of my clients. However in this scenario, the Curve keeps asking for his account id and password. We have tried to enter it and it says that the Username cannot be blank. If we exit and re-enter the setup tool, and then enter the same info again, it says that the username and/or password is incorrect. His credentials have never - ever changed.
We cannot get his password (or acct info) sent to him by BB (RIM), because he no longer has the email address of record. Of course I tried entering a different email address to send it to, but of course it doesn't get to his phone as there is no eamil address setup (except his old one). The provider here in town (TELUS) has been quite useless in helping and have been quite specific that we need to talk to RIM, well of course this seems to be the only avenue available.
Can someone direct us to the appropriate area or resource in order to proceed with setting up his new email account.
Please feel free to reply to me directly at [email protected]
    Thanks everyone.

    You're welcome...

    2) When we do this, we do not get them email account setup screen, instead we get the login to email settings screen,
    3) When we enter this user's email address and password, the device says it is incorrect (or the username field cannot be blank). It depends on the mood of the device as to which message we receive.
The user has a "BIS Account' login username and password. This username is NOT an email address, (but it could be the first part of his email address... it's whatever was created -- does that make sense?). If his email address is [email protected], his username could be anything else, like "RobertSmith50". There's no relation.
Telus is being absurd. They can give the customer his username and reset the password.
Or, they can simply delete the previous BIS account, and add it back to his plan and then he can set it up fresh with the username and password he (or you) will now remember.
Anyway, I'd try one more time with them, and this time, perhaps using the correct terminology might peg their memory. Tell them you want to reset the the BIS data account -- either reset or delete and re-add. ONLY they can do this, RIM can't.
This dude IS Telus' customer, not RIM's. He pays Telus his monthly fees. You really need to ask for a manager or supervisor, and I'm sorry for all the bouncing back and forth... but you just gotta find a sober Telus rep.

I cannot set up a particular email which is  a yahoo email. I was successfully able to setup other yahoo emails. I remember that this particular email was linked to a former blackberry which was stolen about 19 months ago. Now I have another blackberry on another network service provider and it keeps saying update failed. I am starting to suspect that perhaps the email is still linked to that blackberry .... please help me with suggestions to sort out this issue. Thanks

  • Brand new Galaxy III S - Cannot setup Yahoo email - 80201: Getting Token Failed Error

I got my brand new phone; logged in/set-up account with gmail.
I added my corporate email just fine.
Adding a yahoo email I get the following error: 80201: Getting Token Failed Error
    I've tried over wi-fi and on 4G.
Also, it doesn't matter what email and password I put in - same error.
Note: I had a Galaxy S previously with Yahoo email - this isn't the first time I've configured an account.

Same issue cannot create email accounts using the Email app - 80201: Getting Token Failed Error with Yahoo, AOL and Hotmail. Any Verizon support people here? Can you help?

  • Cannot add exchange email on ipad mini

Just got an iPad mini retina 64 Gb with iOS 7.1.2.
After ADDING EMAIL ACCOUNT, choosing EXCHANGE and entering the email address + password of the Exchange account, nothing happens even after 60 minutes (only the small circle sirling for ever).
I did the same procedure with my iPad and it works fine...
    Any thoughts ?
    Pierre

The process for adding an e-mail account for iPad Mini is the same as for the iPad. Have tried re-setting the iPad Mini? Hold "Home" and "Power/Sleep" button at the same time until the Apple goo appears. After the restart go into mail and delete the account you tried to set up if it is there and then re-add it.

  • Cannot load exchange email on Imac

    Hello,
I am new to mac computers but have an Iphone and a ipad, both of which i have no problems connecting to the exchange server.  My IT guy said Imac cannot connect to the exchange server for mail.  Why would this be?  Seems like it should be able to do it.  I've tried every which way but nothing works.  Is my IT guy right?  Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Maybe yes, maybe no... probably no.
    But...
What version of Exchange server does your organization use? Are you using Mac Mail (what version of OS X) or Entourage, or Outlook (what version of MS Office is installed if any)?

I think I need to mess with the Port or SSL settings. How can I get to the "Advanced Options" before completing the email setup process?

  • Setup apple email on windows 8.1

having issues setting up me.com on a Windows 8.1 laptop

This was great info.  On the original download of iCloud it updated my Outlook which I really did not want.  I have removed that as it caused conflicts.  So I utilized the Win 8.1 mailbox but did not enter my Username or actually I shortcut it without the "....me.com" and had the smtp SSL still checked on (default).  Thanks again!
