Cannot setup Official mail account on the N8 & X7 ...

Hi,
I am an N8 user and have recently upgraded to the Symbian Anna platform.
i am now trying to set up my offical mail id under the Nokia Messaging service, under other accounts.
While the set up wizard asks me for my mail id and password, it doesnt give me the option to fill in my IMAP settings etc.
As a result the mail is not getting set up.
Have tried repeatedly.
The same exists on the X7 which is also on Symbian Anna.
Please help urgently.

It's a simple and straightforward configuration (or I thought it was), but I'm allways getting an error "Cannot login. Try again later".
I tried the same configuration in Mozzilla Thunderbird and some old Sony Ericsson with sucess.
All other accounts like GMail or Hotmail are working fine. Internet also works

I've a similar problem with my Nokia Asha 302 because I can connect to IMAP server but the phone don't get the messages after the sync, the phone inbox is empty but there are a lot of new emails un the server.
I'm using an institutional email account that's work using the gmail server utilities but with a specific server address. The same account is accessible using the same IMAP parameters but in another nokia phone (X6) and also in my tablet Toshiba, so, is not a server or configuration problem.
My Asha 302 is up to date with software version 15.09.

Nokia c3-00 cannot setup "other" mail account

Hi folks!
I have the problem outlined in the topic name!
I have Nokia c3-00 and, sw 8.63 and mail 2.0.24.
To be precise, I bought it in October. It worked for some time with "other" accounts normally but then one moment it stopped. No phone updates were done in the meantime. E-mail though updates itself automatically on startup and this cannot be blocked.
So, before I had normally 2 independent my own accounts working. One moment it started asking "Authentication required, enter password" in bizarre situations, for instance, when opening another mail.
After it stoped working at all since entering password did not work. I could delete the accounts and also tried to hard reset the phone. Reset, however is not that powerful since on the first run mail insists on updates. I therefore cannot be sure that the version I had a week ago is the same as I have now. I could not block updates by disconnecting from the internet, then mail simply does not start.
SO, NOW mail program always asks only e-mail and password as the intial configuration and then tries to connect automatically, even though no info is collected yet.
There is NO option "next" in the mail account setup (as it WAS before) and there is NO request for extra data after unsuccessful login (as it was mentioned adn worked for someone in another thread).
Very upset. It was one of the most convenient functions of this phone.
BTW, the program SmartMail, which you can buy in the OviStore does not work normally either. So, jsut do not waste your 1 EURO, folks.
And just in case, the server I connect to is mine and is managed by me. I therefore sure hundred percent in the mail settings I have to enter and also sure that notheng has chanegd to the server itself in the last 2 months.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I set up gmail, hotmail, yahoo accounts without any problem.
Since one week ago I was also using 2 accounts from ARUBA (that is an italian provider) but suddendly the program asked me for the password.
I tried to delete the account but I could not put it back again because this new versione of MAIL does not let me type extra data like ports etc. (or maybe I could not find where it is...).
I am very upset about this malfunction.

I am using Google Gmail for e-mail account. Recently my brother changed Internet providers (Windstream) and for some unknown reason my (Apple) mail application stopped working.
I have reconfigured Gmail to accept IMap instead of POP service. Old previous account shown in my Apple mail service were deleting in order to reset and start everything from scratch. Changed my password in Gmail .. and when I go to Systme Preferences ==> Internet & Wireless ==> Mail, Contacts & Calendars ... entered my full name, e-mail address, and my password ... it just don't accept it ... indicating "unable to verify account name and password"
I have spent several hours trying to make it work but to no avail ...
Will appreciate if someone could give me some advise as to what should be done in order to make my Apple E-mail work again.

Perhaps you were relaying mail through SMTP without authenticating before...?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I had the same problem with iOS 4.3 but i had no email account to create as i set both up when i bought the iPhone 4. After adding a company email and a gmail account (both wok perfectly) i noticed that the option to create more email accounts had been ghosted (unclickable). This didn't worry me at the time. However, iCloud needs me to create one in here so i can access the cloud which i desperately want the ability to do. When i go into Settings -> Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud in the iPhone Settings ghosted (unclickable). I have same problem in itunes on Mac OSX. Surely restoring isn't the solution as i restored my iphone when changing from iOS 4.3 -> 5. Please help?

Restrictions, type in your Restriction Password,
Accounts, tick Allow Changes.
Press the back key a few times till you're back in Settings, you should see iCloud is now highlight able, now go to Mail Contacts and Calenders and add your email account as per norm.

It could be that your ISP wants you to use a specific outgoing mail server. Check with your ISP. Sometimes they will only allow you to use their outgoing mail server when you're on their network and not your own. For example, if you use Optimum Online they may only let you use mail.optonline.com for outgoing so you couldn't use mail.yourdomain.com.
They do this to cut down on people sending spam from their networks.

I have done as much research as I can do in regards to setting up the HP ePrint App Email Accounts. If you do not see your email information listed here, feel free to post it below or contact your internet service provider, phone or email company, or whomever else that might know this. I am certain there are many more that could be added but this is a rather extensive list. I hope you find what you need to finish setting up your email applications.
I have noticed information differs from website to website but as I have learned over time, with domain masking and companies buying out other companies, I just researched all the information I could find and that way if one of the hostnames or ports don’t work, then you can continue to view further into this page to see if that information is the same. At that point, if you can’t find what you need here, I would say you have done all that you can do before contacting the appropriate support team for your email information.
Most of the links are active and the ones listed below should send you directly the pages I pulled this information from but only a few of them were from the actual support sites themselves (Apple support was vague, as well as Microsoft, Macintosh, and commonly used ISPs). Save yourself some time by searching here first. I hope you find what you need in this one-stop-shop and if you get an email address not listed here please post it below and I will add it to this original document.
Lastly, as this information is from forum-based and other unofficial websites, I would like to add that this is a copy/paste/edit-for-easy-reading document I created in my spare time. Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. How to set up two POP e-mail accounts using the same POP and SMTP servers

I have an e-mail address based on a domain I purchased which is based on my company name. Now retired, I have purchased a new domain with a simpler, personalised name. My original e-mail account uses the incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) mail servers operated by my ISP; mail.btinternet.com.
I have set up a new account on my PC in Microsoft Outlook, and have successfully sent and received emails using the new e-mail address taken from my new domain name.
I have now tried to mirror this on my iPhone, but every time I enter all the relevant data for the new e-mail address, user name, password, mail servers etc., and then press 'save', I get a pop-up which says: "xxxx" is Already Added This POP account has already been added to your iPhone. ("xxxx" is the name given to my original e-mail account). Nowhere have I input "xxxx" in the course of setting up the new account.
I need both accounts operational during an extended switch-over period as I alert everyone to the e-mail change over. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

What targeting the Mail.app preference file, do the following:
Quit the Mail.app first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Copy the Mail folder and place the copy on the Desktop for backup purposes.
Using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist. Move the com.apple.mail.plist file to the Desktop.
Note: Moving the com.apple.mail.plist file out of the Preferences folder will require re-entering all email account information when re-launching Mail.
The only exception to this is if you have a .Mac account which will be recreated automatically and/or if you created an email account as part of the computer setup assistant when first turning on the computer when new.
Launch Mail and decline any prompt to import mailboxes. After re-entering all email account information, the Mail.app should rediscover the existing account named folders and mailbox files at Home > Library > Mail.
After confirming all mailboxes were successfully rediscovered, you can delete the copy of the Mail folder and old com.apple.mail.plist file from the Desktop.
Test if this resolves the problem.

ERROR: itunes could not sync mail accounts to the iphone etc.

Brand new iphone owner. Day two. The initial sync was fie, on the next sync I got the the following error message."iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iphone (my name) iPhone because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. Close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone then sync again."
