Cannot share photo through mail

iphoto gets stuck. after a long time (with the blue bar at the bottom being all the way to the right) I get a message saying the mail server is unavailable. Meanwhile I can send and receive mail through Mail without problem . . .

in the iPhoto preferences set mail as your email client

In iphoto I select the photos to send, click on share and email. I setup the email in iphoto and iphoto sorted out all the pop3 & SMTP settings all i had to do was put my email & password in. Since its gone wrong I have got an ipad but no changes to my email settings.
I have been looking at the 'mail' which is also setup for hotmail and I can't send emails from there either so i don't think there is a problem with iphoto.

Cannot share photos with photo sharing

i am having trouble rouble with shared photo streams, I'll recieve the invite and as soon as I accept I always get the message that "this photo stream is no longer shared! How can I sort this out?
I also have family sharing on but the family share album is nowhere to be found in my photos app, if I look at my sons iPad it shows he is subscribed to the family album set up by me and if I send a new photo share request nobody ever recieves it!

Bug！cannot choose photo to mail in album

I can confirm that this happens +only when in Edit mode+.
It works exactly as it should in Organisation mode.
I'm not sure it's a bug. It strikes me as intentional. After all I can't drag anything to another Album (i.e Organise) when I'm in edit mode.
I don't recall this being a feature of iPhoto 08.

Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send/share photos through iPhoto. Dropbox says "not connected to server". All other online email activities work just fine.

And again why do you think Dropbox is involved in any way? There is no connection of any sort between iPhoto and Dropbox
THis sounds like you either need to (my personal suggestion) change your email client to Mail in the iPhoto preferenceemail if you want to use the iPhoto client under the accounts tab delete your account and re-enter it

I have Windows 8 but cannot send photos in email through Adobe email service.

1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.

2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next (Mac users should use attachments)
6. Choose a contact then click Next
7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the Sender verification field and click OK. Wait for validation confirmation then click OK to continue

My Nokia 701 cannot share photo using NFC to C7

My 701 used to be able to share photo from gallery to my wife's C7 Anna. Strangely, when i tried to send few marked photos, the sending process was taking forever and i had to cancel it. After that, when i tried to share even one photo at a time, the process was still taking forever (sending via NFC unsuccessful). Even after i've done the factory reset, i still cannot send any photo via NFC anymore. Anyway, my 701 is able to receive photos from C7 (updated to Belle). Please help.

I cannot access Photos through the album app.

My Photo Album cannot be accessed through the album as it is hidden up behind the title.....I can slide it down to see it, but it won't let me view it. I have to go through my camera and view them that way. Can anyone help????

I had the exact same problem. Here is how I was able to fix it:
Double click the home button on your iPhone
Scroll over along the icons on the bottom of your screen until you see the Photos icon button
Press and hold the Photos icon until all icons along the bottom begin to wiggle
Click the red circle atop the left side of the icon and hte Photos icon will disappear
Hit the home button again
Click the normal photos icon and you should be able to access your photos just fine

Cannot receive photos through Messages

Ever since two weeks ago, I have not been able to receive any photos/images through Messages on my iPhone from any non-iPhone users. I used to be able to receive them, but not anymore. I can still send and receive if the other user is an iPhone. I tried resetting my phone and restarting. Even the MMS button is on too.

Cannot Share albums to Mail, Flickr etc if album has more than 99 photos

I created an album of vacation photos and hit the Share button, only to find that the only option available to me was "iCloud Photo Sharing". All the other options such as share to Facebook, Flickr, etc were missing. Other albums had those options.
Through trial and error, I discovered that once an album hits 100 photos, all of these options disappear. Delete one photo, to make it 99, and all of the options re-appear.
I like to publish all my photos to Flickr, so this random limitation of 99 photos in an album is problematic to me. Has anybody else encountered this and does anybody have a work around? I know I can share them from Moments view, but in some instances albums will be split across several moments, meaning several separate 'share' transactions which is not ideal.

No. still same limits. these limits were not in iphoto (you could share entire albums of hundreds of pictures). logically its a new issue related to photos then.
my work around: export pics from photos (decreased size by 50%) to finder. then use facebook to find them and upload them (and I had no issue with facebook). which also proves apple gave us really bad software.

Cannot share photos in iPhoto

I get a message saying "email did not go through because the server did not reply". I have no problem photostreaming through the iCloud but email seems to hit a road block. Any ideas on whether my iPhoto app (in both iMac and iPad) cannot find the server?

What email service do you use? Have you recently change it to require a double login for security purposes? If so that is it - if not then
in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

Cannot sync photos or mail accts since new app's installed

Hi,
I have recently installed a new app' and also updated some old ones. Since then every time I try and sync my iPhone it comes up with the message "Cannot Sync "AKs" iPhone. The required file cannot be found."
I have tried to restore it to no avail. I am loathed to try and upgrade to OS4.0 as I am somewhere where I do not have a lot of bandwidth or data allowance at the moment and so cannot do that easily. It only seems to be the photos and my mail account that I cannot do anything with at the moment.
Can anyone help me find this apparently missing 'required file'?!

When trying to share a photo via email in iphoto, i get this message
Check your Internet connection. If the connection is working properly, the email server may be down. Try sending your email again later.
Myh internet is working fine and my email is working fine. I am using an icloud email account.

What are your settings for email in the iPhoto Preferences? You may want to switch from iPhoto as an email client to Mail.app - see Old Toad's post here:

Cannot Share Photos to Web

I recently upgraded to iLife '05. When I try to add photos to my homepage, a message "Importing Themes" appears. After a long pause, an error states that a connection could not be established (even though I am still currently online). I subsequently performed all available upgrades and am now at OS X 10.3.9; the error still appears. Any advice?

Hi Tara,
I would post your post in the .Mac integration forum and even do a search for "Homepage" there. Many have been having problems and some have found solutions.
In the meantime you can manually upload your images and make your album on the web interface.
You can bypass iPhoto altogether until the situation is resolved. You can manually upload your album to your iDisk.
Within iPhoto, share/export your album. Choose how you want them named, export size should be 800 x 600.
You can choose to export to a folder on the desktop, OR you can navigate to your iDisk/Pictures folder (by clicking on your iDisk in the left column of the Export window, then highlighting the Pictures folder...wait till the files show up.
Now click the button on the bottom left for "new folder" name the folder to the name of your slideshow. Now click "ok"
Wait till all your files are uploaded to your idisk Pictures folder.
If you exported to the desktop, then open up your iDisk folder (mount your iDisk), navigate to the Pictures folder and drag your folder of exported photos into the Pictures folder.
Go to your .Mac homepage.
Go to "create a page" and choose the album template you want.
In the next window your Pictures folder will open up. Highlight the folder you just uploaded, and click the "choose" button
Now you can finish your editing, titles, etc. and you are good to go.
