Cannot Share/Send Photo with MDM Managed Device

When using any device that has an Exchange (ActiveSync) account created through an MDM product (in this case Barracauda MDM, but had the issue with Absolute's product as well), you cannot share (attach) any photo via email in the Photo app.  What appears is the Setup page for Mail requesting you to create a email account as if one doesn't exist.  (We do not allow any other accounts (i.e. Gmail, iCloud, etc.) to be created on our company owned devices).
One can though "Insert Photo" when in the creation part of an email in the Mail app, but this allows only one photo to be inserted at a time.  As well it is not very intuitive as the user must know how to do this and it is on the part that is usually hidden on the contexual menu that you get to select/insert/etc. items in Mail.
Not being able to send/share from the Photo app is very difficult and confusing for our users, any recommendations, fixes, etc.?
Note:  It does work fine if you use an Exchange (ActiveSync) account manually setup on an iOS, but just not thru an MDM managed/setup Exchange (ActiveSync) account.

A Pop up came up and asked if I wanted to share my photos with my other devices? I clicked yes and now all my camera roll and photo stream pics have all disappeared!! Well over 1000 pics??

What 'pop up' what did it actually say, and what were you doing when it said it,

  • How do I share edited photos with other apple devices.

Photo Stream does a great job of sharing photos between your mac, your ipad, and your iphone UNTILL you want to edit them. How do I edit a photo and then be able to see the edited version on all my devices?  If I edit on my Macbook, the changes are made in the iphoto library.  If I edit on my phone the changes are in the camera roll.  But the Photo Stream image remains unchanged yet it is the only version that can be seen by all devices.  Very frustrating when you edited a bunch of photos for better viewing, but can only see those changes on the device you made the edits on.  Also, trying to remembering which photos you edited on which device is impossible.  Any ideas on how to keep ONE editable photo database accessible from all your devices?

If you edit a photo in iPhoto on your Mac and then use the Share button at the bottom and select iCloud ➙ MyPhotoStream
the edited version will be added to the MyPhotoStream on all devices.  It has to be manually added. It's not automatic.
If that edit is removed in iPhoto, i.e. Revert to Original, the edited version in My Photo Stream remains.

  • Cannot share aperture photos

I can no longer share aperture photos with apple TV using home sharing in iTunes. This happened just recently, probably since 05/01; however, only notice a few days ago that this is happening. I have aperture since Jan/11 and shared photos normally. I can select aperture from drop-down menu in iTunes, but the total photos shared shows 0 (I have at least 9000 photos in aperture database). Please help!

I also had the same problem, but was able to resolve the problem by creating a brand new Aperature library, and then importing my old library into it.  I made sure that the Aperature preferences were set to share everything, and when I went back into Apple TV it could see all my photos.
This could be a real pain if you don't have enough disk space, to copy your entire library, but I didn't have this problem.

  • Issue Sending Photos with iMessage

I try and send photos with iMessage, and it will deliver successfully. Then a few minutes later, it will tell me that my message was not delivered. Every time I say "try again" it will deliver successfully, then say later the image was not delivered. All text messages are delivering normally. I have tried restarting my ipod and it did not help. Any suggestions on how to fix the issue?

No that's not possible with iCloud, however there are ways of sharing photos, but first could you confirm your OS, iCloud doesn't work with OS X 10.4

  • How can I share my Internet with my other devices

I have been assigned a temporary home for the next few months. The only Internet available is via a USB Dongle. The family uses iPads for their daily pleasure. Is there a way to create a shared network from my Mac Book Pro running Mountain Lion OS?

    Hi V3LV3TP0RKR1ND,
You can use Internet Sharing to share your connection with your iOS devices:

  • Sending photos with Entourage

Using Entourage as default 'share' option when emailing photos from iPhoto. Recipients receive photos with a 'play' feature underneath each photo, as if it's a video clip. Cannot see how to get rid of that in any preference setting.

Attach the pictures via the File -> attch files
and make sure that in the bottom line of the panel "send windows friendly attachments" is selected.
    Hope that helps

  • I'm trying to send photos with iPhoto.  I have to sign into "messages" but can't find that on my Mac.  I never had a problem until now.

How do I sign into messages?  I can't find it on my mac.  I just want to send photos like I used to and it's been changed.  Argh!

Care to share which OS you are using as well as which version of iPhoto?
It would help us to know which computer model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
This will help in providing you with the proper and/or correct solutions.

  • Sending photo with yahoo - please, Mail is not good.

How do people manage with Mail to send several photos?  It is taking me hours to send just 2 to New Zealand.  Any help as to how I can send photos from my iPhoto section through Yahoo would be most helpful?  Thanks.
Another question is that the Apple store advised me not to enter a password for my iMac Snow Leopard.  So far I have not - but I want to know if this is good advice - it keeps asking me for one?!  But for the moment I don't want to get into the keychain situation which Ifind complicated - oh so many passwords to remember.

You can send multiple photos on Yahoo by sending them as attachments.  You can also provide links to your photos by using photo sites like Photobucket or the software Dropbox.  If it is taking you hours to send photos, what type of internet connection do you have?
You do not need a password for your Mac if you do not want to.  Most users have one if others have access to their computers or to protect sensitive information in case their computer is stolen.  Keychain should not be asking you for a password if your computer is set up to not have one.  Is it?  It is not clear from your post.
To remember passwords, use a password manager.
