Cannot sign in Skype 7.4.85.102 with windows XP Se...

Dear Skype team,
I recently updated my skype to version 7.4.8.102. However, when I signed in Skype again, the text "signing in" rotated for about 6-7 seconds then nothing appeared, I couldn't see the usual Skype chat screen. Then, I uninstalled Skype with Your Uninstaller and reinstalled my old version 6.16.0.105 and I signed in successfully (Of course, I had to turn off automatic update function). However, upon receiving file like jpeg or gif, I saw a message asking me to log in another site like this "to view this shared photo go to https //api.asm.skype"....
Then I had to login that site with skype account and downloaded the file again (The image was resized ( => The question is:
1. If I want to use latest version 7.4, how can I sign in? I tried to follow steps in this topic but it didn't help (http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-archive/Skype-not-working-on-Windows-XP-as-of-today/td-p/20124...
I also tried to rename SkypeTM folder into Skype_old, delete Db temp folder by going to %temp%\skype but it didn't work. (http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Problem-with-signing-in/m-p/3973941)
2. If I continue to use older version 6.16.0.105, how can I receive files without logging in another site to download low quality file?
(I've been using Skype for 7 years and never encountered this problem before).

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

I'm using desktop Skype version 7.3.59.101 for Windows 8 and everytime I attempt to sign in with my Microsoft account I get the spinning wheel of death for a few minutes before a connection error comes up. i was online on skype 2 days ago then suddenly i got sign out by itself then i cannot sign in anymore. it said that it didnt recognize my sign-in details. i tried to sign in from skype website but it said that both my skype name and password are wrong. i've installed the newest version, changed my pasword, tried to contact the community and the customer service but its useless. i made a new skype account, and it works well with the same laptop. but its weird becos i cannot find my old skype account with the new one. im using windows 7. please help me. i dont wanna lose my friends in my list. thank you.

Skype does NOT start up with Windows

When I boot up Windows, Skype refuses to load with it even though it is enabled to do so in the Skype settings.

Solutions tried: removing and reinstalling Skype and checking/unchecking the Start Skype with Windows checkbox.

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Browsing History" if Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
If you use CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

I cannot emphasize enough how ridiculous this is. No matter what I do, I cannot log into my account anymore, skype keeps making me change my pw like that's the only thing that could be going wrong - I know my blasted pw, I don't need it changed, MS needs to stop changing skype!! This is downright inexcusable and embarrassing. MS has all these smart people working in the Win7/8, and Xbox departments, but apparently not in the Skype team...!! This has me wondering if the Skype team is a bunch of interns still learning basic programming language and concepts. Prove me wrong by fixing my account, MS...I'm waiting...

After this update from the pervious version I was logged out of my account. I killed all the apps open on my phone and attempted to login again.
Tap "Skype Name"
Presented with new screen to enter my name and password.
tapping anywhere on my screen causes it to reload the startup screen.
Killing the app and retrying seems to have the same problem. For me this is repeatable 9/10 times. (Got it to work once...)

Sorry to hear that. Can you confirm you had a typo in your first post sharing your device setup details since you wrote
"Android version: 4.0.1". Should that be "Android version: 5.0.1" instead?

I cannot sign in to icloud because of problems with server

I have Lost It All!
I cannot find all of my iTunes info.
I tried signing into iCloud due to a message "problem with server".

I have used the solution below to fix mine and others that have run into this issue.
Start --> Programs --> Accessories (Right Click on Command Prompt) --> Run as Administrator
then type in: "Netsh winsock reset" (-without the quotes-)
Hit enter, restart PC, iCloud For PC should now connect without any server errors
(This solutions will work in some instances when trying to fix errors associated when you are unable to connect to iTunes also.)

Skype 7.4.0.102 on WIndows 8.1 keeps crashing

Skype seems to crash at random, at least twice a day. Can anyone suggest how to fix this? I've seen lots of reports but no solutions that seem relevant to me. I've attached a copy of the latest event log. Many thanks in advance for any help.

I Cannot sign in to my Microsoft account from within Windows Movie Maker

I have recently installed Windows Movie Maker (Version 2012) and when I open it, it gives me a chance to sign in to my Microsoft account. I use the correct email address and password combination (I know they are correct because I tested them on other
Microsoft services) and it returns an error of "incorrect email or password." I do not understand why this is happening and I need to be able to sign in to Microsoft to utilize certain functions of Movie Maker. Is there any way
to resolve this issue?

Cannot upload pictures on Ebay when using Firefox with Windows 8.1 - but works with IE 11

Problem with uploading Photos on Ebay only when Firefox is my Browser - -
Just recently I have noticed I cannot upload pictures anymore using the option STANDARD. I have to use their BASIC option, which is one picture at a time.
When I select STANDARD I find that BROWSE does not respond. My configuration is Windows 8.1, 8gb memory and using the latest Firefox.
Rather oddly it works fine with -
8.1 + Internet Explorer
XP + IE
XP + Firefox
Just this combination - no go.
Any ideas ?

Had same problem since I updated FF26. Always same old answers that don't work: reset FF, reinitialize, try "mode sans echec" (forgot english name for this), cut off addons, AV & firewall, check in config:about etc.. Think posts concerning this same problem are skattered all around because it has many different issues. And that's why FF has not yet digged to the genuine cause.
My facts: 1) can't browse to send an attachment with an email (but I can with IE); 2) In tools/options if I check "ask where to record" browse doesn't work either. 3) In tools/options if I check "download in such or such file", then it does download in file named "telechargement" ( in french) but I can't choose another file because here again "browse" doesn't work.
I saw a post somewhere talking about problems related to avast (it's my AV). Know if it's true?
I'd be really glad if this could be solved cause I don't intend to change. FF is the best!

Skype problems on XP mode with Windows 7

Running XP mode on a Windows 7 computer, Skype freezes xp mode with every incoming call. Works fine in standard Windows 7. Any suggestions for Skype use with XP mode?

Current OS: Windows 7 (legit copy)
1. After upgrade to Windows 7, audio was the 1 thing that wasnt working.
2. Trolled the boards, found someone's Real Tek Audio Driver Solution
3. Installed the Real Tek, worked perfectly for 3 days
4. Wihtout warning, mid session, suddenly the audio disappeared
5. Never came back, even when deinstall/reinstalling driver
6. -- GRUMPY
Same issues as OP....according to device manager, everything is fine. Driver does not need to be updated. Control panel solution does not work.
Caveat: It is possible that I did some weird keystroke...was experimenting with keystrokes for a multi monitor set up (Windows + shift + left, windows + up) to send windows to different monitors. Is it possible I triggered some "audio kill switch" somewhere?" Doubt this is the cause based on the other postings, but cant rule it out 100% at this point.

We cannot get firefox installed on our new laptop with windows 8, what do we need to do?

I have a Windows 8.1 platform on a new computer. When we try to download firefox the button comes up to push run. After that Norton scans and states that it is safe but a new program with very few people using it. I click on the spot saying that it is safe, and it goes away, but the program doesn't run. I've also tried to download it and then run. it will download but when I try to run it Norton comes up and the same thing as above happens.
I've also tried turning off Norton for 1 hour and tried the same 2 things as above with the same results.

In case Norton is objecting to the "stub" installer (the download has the word "stub" in the name) try using the full installer. You can download it from the following page, just scroll down to your preferred language:

Cannot make Canon PIXMA MX922 fax to work with "Windows Fax And Scan" on Windows 7, 8.1

I have Canon PIXMA MX922 multifunction printer installed wireless on iMac OS X Mavericks. It works great but there is no fax drivers for Mac. I have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 installed on Parallel Desktop. I am able to print and scan on these machines. I can scan using "Windows Fax and Scan" and other programs including My Image Gardens but no luck with faxing. I can send faxes using print function and chosing a Cannon MX920 series fax driver. The problem is to recieve faxes. I've connected MX922 wireless and wired with no help.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas?

In case this is going to fix itself in 25 hours I will check for the issue then. I'm gonna let you know whether the issues has disappeared.
But it sounds to me a little bit, like you have been expecting that behaviour? Have you? Especially within a Lab it is very confusing to have test clients which appear fully functional 25 hours after the setup has been succeeded.
I've followed your annotation and posted the log files on the Connect portal.

I cannot get my Palm Vx to work properly with Windows XP; especially the HotSync.

I have tried everything I can think of. I even went through the online chat assistance, and uninstalled Palm and then reinstalled a clean version. It worked a couple of times, but would not load any of my data, and now all my data is gone, my Palm still does not hotSync, and is essentially a very expensive paperweight. Why can't Microsoft and Palm get this right? I was so attached to my Palm for all these years that I bought them for family. Now, I have lost mine and all my data. Has anyone figured out how to get a Palm Vx to work with Windows XP and a new computer with USB ports?
