Cannot sign into Creative Cloud... again!

Trying to run Adobe Muse to finish a project.  It says there is an upgrade, but I don't dare try that now.
It then says I need to sign in again, but when I do I get
"An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.  I-2".
This is incredibly frustrating -- this is the second time in as many weeks I've been unable to work because of a problem with Creative Cloud.
The last time, deleting this file
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\opm.db
solved the problem (althought I still had to reset my password twice).  But I can't delete this file now because it says
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
There are four processes called "Adobe CEF Helper.exe" running. Three can't be killed (and yes, I'm an administrator); the fourth can be killed but comes back immediately.  I have a lot of stuff open (Visual Studio sessions and text editors) and I really don't want to reboot.
Why is this so terrible?  This software costs a lot of money and it's inexcusable that legitimate customers get hassled on a regular basis because Adobe can't keep their database straight.
<sigh...>

Finally rebooted.  Tried deleting this file again:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\opm.db
and it was still locked.  Hunted down and killed every process in the system with "Adobe" in the name or path.  Then I was able to delete this file, and now, lo and behold, Adobe Muse was able to sign in and now runs again.
So far all the other Adobe apps also seem to be working.
Grrrr... I wish Adobe would stop treating all of its customers as thieves.

CM_Martketing and MikeBanks are correct, but I think what is confusing some people is that they are mistaking their Mac HD for the user name. I kind of had to mash up 2 posts to get it right:
1: Open Activity monitor from spotlight and end all Adobe related processes. You may find processes like AAMupdater, AAMupdater notifier, Adobe Crash demon process.
2: Open Finder and navigate Macintosh HD/Users/[your user name]/Library (the library folder might be grayed out, just right click and select open)
3: Now navigate to Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/.. folder.
4: Delete opm file under OOBE.
    5: Rename OOBE to OOBEold.
6: Check if you have AAMupdater in the adobe folder.
7: Please rename it to AAMupdaterold.
8: Click on gear icon on Creative Cloud desktop app and choose Quit Creative Cloud.
9: Then launch it, sign-in and click on Apps tab.
It worked perfectly! Thanks everyone, I've been trying to figure this out for a month!

  • Signing into creative cloud with a different account?

I was previously signed into creative cloud under another ID, I do not have access to that account/email anymore. I'm attempting to log in with another ID and it doesn't give me an option to sign in with a different account. I've even uninstalled and re-installed several times. Help.

Lindsay.havens1 where are you choosing to log out?  I would recommend going to your Creative Cloud Desktop application and signing out in the preferences.  They can be located in the top right hand corner under the gear icon.

  • Can no longer sign into creative cloud much less work with LR CC.

All this started yesterday when I downloaded LRCC, opened it and it crashed. And kept crashing. Signed out and back into CC about five times and, when I went to bed around 10p.m. it appeared to be working.
This morning I opened LR and it crashed. Deleted CC cloud and downloaded latest vision of software. Now I can't sign in even after following instructions on what to do if you cannot sign into CC.
This is a real mess and I have no idea what to do?

    Michael,
You are not alone in this issue! I've been running into this problem for months with our company 10 gig network and the CC desktop application.  Just today I had to change the MTU from 9000 to 1500 just to get the CC Desktop application to run an update.  2 edit bays in one of our other offices running on a 10gig network all the sudden stopped being able to see the CC desktop application because of the jumbo frame issue. Only way to fix it, turn off jumbo frames on the computers and watch the Adobe CC Desktop application come to life instantly!  Why if every other application we run under jumbo frames that hits the web does not have a problem, but the CC desktop application does?  Also, I too have asked for a specific Creative Cloud product listing to be included on the feature request page.  How else are we supposed to make these issues known if its not even a product in the list.

  • Signing into Creative Cloud on Windows 8.1 hangs after I enter my password?  I can't sign in, please help.

On Windows 8.1 machine when I enter my password in for Creative Cloud Sign In and hit enter/next I just get the 4 square hour glass, it never goes through and I cannot even close the window without canceling it using the task manager.   This is my creative cloud subscription on my home computer I am having the problem with.  It may be related to one of these two following issues:
    1. Last week I got a new computer at work and had to reinstall creative cloud on it and deactivated all my computers in the process.  I was able to install and sign in fine at work.
    2. On my home computer (Windows 8.1) which used to be fine until I deactivated it is the one on which I am having the problem signing in.  At home I also just installed a new router (Linksys AC1600) two days ago as my old one crapped out, so maybe that's my problem?  I'm not sure, but everything else on the Internet is working for me with the new router.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
