Cannot sign on due to "Disk I/O error"

I cannot sign on due to Disk I/O error. I followed wht Skype recommends: Deleted my user folder under C:\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming twice, does not help.
What else can I do?
Would reinstalling help?

that does not sound good to me, the message is that the disk is stuffing up, in that skype can not read information from it, at leat that is how I read it, I would suggest you use a program that comes if a free cut down version http://www.hdsentinel.com/ it was so good I paid for it, not expensive and does not expire, so the key lasts as long as the company keeps updating, not like MS windows where you have to pay and pay, or ithis one may be good but I have not tried it but it is free http://download.cnet.com/HDD-Health/3000-2086_4-10804806.html
another thing to also do is is check the hard disk sectors with something I would recomend http://www.partition-tool.com/ which has a free version with all the tools you want.

When working to convert an open PDF to WORD I am getting a request to sign in and then get a message that I cannot sign in due to a "network problem"?

Can anyone help me with this issue? I try to convert an open PDF to WoRD. When I am asked to sign into my account I get an error message that says I cannot sign in due to a Network Problem.

A software fluke or hiccup perhaps. Try closing the mail app completely, reboot the iPad and see if the message goes away.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Directory cannot be rebuilt due to Disk hardware failure (-36, 2286 )

Hello everybody,
my macbook was running slower and slower until it became unusable.
I have restarted the macbook with system DVD and run harddisk utilities from the DVD :
- First diagnostic : directory damaged, error on knot, cannot be repaired by this program.
I tried to put the disk in target mode but it was impossible to mount it on the desk.
-Then I tried with DiskWarrior utilities and got the message : Directory cannot be rebuilt due to Disk hardware failure (-36, 2286 )
Does anybody knows what it means ?
If disk has to be changed what brand would be the best suited.
Any advice on this issue will be more than welcome

I am going to replace the disk but all the work of the last four days will be lost, kinf of hard to swallow on a machine bought a little more than a year ago !

Ok, so I cannot sign into my iCloud account on my Windows 7 (32bit) PC. I have done the "winsock" reset in addition to a "bonjour" reset... whats next on the list aside from reinstalling my Windows OS?

Why can't I sign into iCloud from my pc? I get en error message saying there is a server error.

Start with the basics. Force close mail and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't help, you might want to consider resetting your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds. That can help at times even if all of your other devices are connecting to the Internet. I suggest this, because the message that you are getting may be due to a bad connection to the Internet.

Project cannot render again due to disk drive name change

Recently I installed a new motherboard and processor. When I came back up my drives all have different labels, except for the C: drive. My encore project which rendered successfully before now gets this error in the middle of rendering and burning to bluray.
Blu-ray Error "device not ready", code: "3", note: "File cannot open. (G:\encorework\sequence 9-10-11\AuthorScriptHDMVSessions\Silence.ac3.11_29_50_18.3.2010_UTC_04_00DST.ves) - ERROR: Error locating.
The new drive is M and no longer G. When I go into encore and check the project all looks well. What file is still looking on G: ?

Cannot sign in due to internet connection problems - why?

I am trying to open my photoshop elements program which I have done several times since purchasing. Now it is requiring that I sign in. When I click sign in, it can't connect to the internet even though I am on the internet and so it won't sign me in or let me go around and use the program without singing in. Help!

Try these suggestions.
Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.

How can I back up my important files when I can't sign in due to disk utility?

I've made a big mistake of putting off the start up disk full. Now it's bit me in the foot and I don't want to restart my whole mac when I know there is important items to be backed up. Can I somehow access my user files before repairing/erasing the disk.

I see. That sounds as if the internal HD can't be accessed at all, & you were automatically started in Recovery mode.
You're unable to mount (select it; Right click - Mount) then use verify/repair ?

Cannot access time machine, backup disk not available error code.

My time machine stopped backing up. It is a 2TB. I get error code -6584. and says backup disk not available. Coincidentally, I had to reset my time machine for a forgotten password about 6 days ago. Wi-fi works fine, but a few days later when trying to access old files throughout the time capsule I could not. Said my last back up was the day the time machine had to be reset. I have 1.79 of TB used..which is weird my computer is only 4 G and have only filled up 2.4 G of it.
ANy ideas?

We haven't seen report of problem with 6584 for a while. It generally means a corrupted backup. You need to do a verify of the back.

This will take a very very long time if the backup has almost filled the TC.. so at least use ethernet connection.
You do have a problem.. the formatted capacity of a 2TB disk is 1.8TB.. If you have used up 1.79TB then sorry but you really need to erase the TC and start over.
The TM can fill up huge disks if you use parallels or dropbox or any dual boot system that has a virtual disk file.. TM will backup 20GB for every 1KB change. That file is hidden btw so you might not see it but I assure you it will chew up space.
I don't know what you mean by computer having only 4GB. That would make it rather ancient.. Surely even smallest SSD must be 64 or 128GB.

Cannot open Mail due to java application stub error

I'm running OS 10.3.9 and I tried to download and install Mac OS 10.4. Obviously, it did not work, but now when I try and open Mail and a couple other applications I get an error message saying "The application JavaApplicationStub has unexpectedly quit."
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me! Thanks!
