Cannot sign pdf form

I create a pdf form from word to a pdf fillable form.  I can sign this form.  After I save the form as reader extended pdf form.  I cannot sign the form.  How can I fix the problem?

When you say "sign", do you mean digitally sign or add an e-signature, which can be a hand-drawn signature? If a document is Reader-enabled, the EchoSign e-signature functionality is not available, but it does allow digital signatures if enabled with Acrobat Pro, as opposed to Standard.

  • Submitting a Signed PDF form in Workflow

    Hello,
Is there anyone experienced submitting signed PDF form in workflow?
We have tried to use a PDF form designed using AFD 5.0 along with AWS 6.2 to automate the approval process. But when the initiator signs the document, using the signature object, and then submit it, the next participant will get the form with empty signature filed.
Additionally, when you sign the form, you get the green check mark, then when you submit the form, it seems that the submit will change the data in the form and the green check mark will convert into gray question mark.
    You help is highly appreciated.
PS: anyone there used Biometric Signature tools (such as CyberSIGN, CIC, or SoftPro) to digitally authenticate signers/signatures in PDF forms/document and used it in a workflow or web applications?
    Regards,
    Yasser

If you have access to Acrobat, it would be possible to set up the form so that an automatically generated unique identifier is include in a (hidden) field so you could identify multiple submissions from a particular instance of a form. You could remove all but the most recent record from the response table to keep the summary reports current. If you'd like more info, post again.

  • After updating to Adobe Reader 11.0.07 on my iMac, I cannot print pdf forms off the web

after updating my iMac to Adobe Reader 11.0.07, I cannot print pdf forms off the Web

It would be great, if you could provide us with the following details:
    1. The OS you are working on.
    2. The version of MS Office installed on your machine.
    3. A screenshot of the error message along with the scenario in which the same is displayed.
    4. How exactly did you go about updating Reader 11.0.02 to 11.0.03. Was it via the updater mechanism or by downloading the patch from the Adobe site.
Also, it would be great if you could let us know if there was any other Windows or Antivirus related updates applied on your machine in the same timeframe as the Reader update.

  • Signing PDF Form !!URGENT!!

I posted here earlier regarding a couple of simple issues about file security, that although were not really necessary, were needed to reassure the client.
Now we have created a PDF form checklist that is attached to all job files and filled in by a member of the team after each process is completed, eg. design, artwork, repro, QC....
The form is digitally signed at the bottom and the fields that correspond to that section are locked, but when the form is picked up of the server by a QC for example after been signed by a member of repro, the signature has a question mark or a warning logo through it.
This is no real problem for us as it is purely internal and only for our benefit, but because of the nature of the work for aforementioned client they really want this sorting out so no warnings are flashed.
We are not really sure why it pops up and what it means, but it would be a great help if anybody could help us get rid of it.
    Cheers.

The warning pop up, because the pdf has been changed. That is what a
digital signature is supposed to do. Each new signature changes the
file, therefore generates a warning from the previous signature(s). It
is not an error or mistake! You cannot nor should not be able to hide
    the warning.

  • Cannot save, cannot print PDF form in Adobe Reader 9

I downloaded a PDF form for an application from the internet. It opened in Adobe Reader 9, where I was able to fill out information in the PDF. Some areas required a scroll bar for long lists of information. Now, I cannot save the PDF or else all of my information disappears!! I cannot print the PDF, because all of the information is not immediately visible, due to scroll bars. It only prints what is immediately visible.
I need help - I cannot save, print, or exit out of this form that I have filled out multiple times at this point from attempts to Save.

What means "cannot"; what happens when you try?

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.09 - some certificates no longer accepted for signing PDF forms

After installation of the patch 11.0.09 of Adobe Reader some certificates are no longer accepted for signing (not enlisted in list of certificates) when clicking the sign fields of PDF forms. The forms were created using LiveCycle Designer.
Is it by design or is it a bug? If it is by design, what is the change, which caused this behavior? We are facing the problem, when our users are no more able to sign the request forms using their client certificates.
The example is on the following screenshots.

    Hi Milan,
Yes, there has been some enhancements in this domain, You may check the release note of 11.0.09::  11.0.09 Planned update, Sept 16, 2014 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes

  • Suddenly cannot edit PDF form ..... ???

    Hi all,
I'm new to this Adobe forum, this is my first post.
In brief, I have been using a PDF form from my employer to enter dates, hours worked, etc. etc.  With free Adobe Acrobat, I have previously been able to consistently open, view and edit the form  (i.e. enter info)  with ever-changing dates and hours worked.
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, I cannot edit the template OR do a "Save As" from an existing file and then edit.  I have tried updating Acrobat, and I also downloaded a fresh copy of the PDF form, but nothing works.  I have gone into Adobe options etc. but I don't see anything I can change that relates to the ability to enter info into a PDF.  I can still open and view PDFs just fine, but I am now blocked from being able to enter info into the form, and at this point I have no idea why.
Any solutions, ideas, suggestions etc. greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Dave G.

    Hi, Claudio -
No changes in the OS, and the last time I updated the Reader was quite awhile before this happened.
My OS is MS Windows 7 Professional, v. 6.01.7600, 64-bit, which I have been running for almost a year.
My version of Reader is 10.1.0
    Thanks again,
    - Dave G.

  • Problems with digitally signed PDF FORM

    Hi everyone,
I am having a situation as follows:
I have a adobe form that is digitally signed. In Adobe 9 once it is signed, the two properties are set as -
    1)Document assembly not allowed
    2)Changing the document not allowed.
By saving the pdf into .ps file and reopening it with Adobe pro, I was able to put some links from the text in PDF, using "LINK TOOL" button. But if I redo the links again, then comes the problem. And also, When I merge this pdf form with another the signatures are lost!!! Can anyone please help me and shed some light on this.
    Appreciate all your help.
    rgds,
    Suma.

    Hi Suma
One thing to realize is one of the purposes of a digital signature is to provide proof of document integrity. With that in mind, although in Acrobat 8 and earlier you were allowed to make changes to the document, and thus invalidate the digital signature, beginning with version 9 we have disabled that functionality. If you need to edit the core PDF don't sign it. The signature should be applied after all of the document layout has been completed. You can fill in form fields and add comments and annotations post signing, but it makes no sense to modify the document structure when all it will do is invalidate the signature.

  • Customized Workspace Cannot open PDF forms anymore

    Hello,
I have customizaed my workspace with Flex Builder 3, Flex SDK 2 Hotfix 3. In previous months, everything is ok, and my workspace with IE 7.0 can open PDF forms inside processes. However, I do not know what is changed, my previous customized workspaces and new customized workspace can not open PDFs inside IE, but works on Mozilla Firefox. I have also tested workspace source without changing anything and deploying my server. However it still can not open PDFs, blank part is shown inside the PDF frame.
It gives an javascript error, 'undefined' is null or not an object is given
    Line: 35
    Character: 2
    Code: 0
Error Message: 'undefined' is null or not an object

    What can be the problem,
Any prompt answers will be appreciated.

PDF forms can be created using Acrobat or LiveCycle but the basic structure of the forms created are very different. If the form is created by Acrobat then Adobe Mobile Reader can open the form. If the form is created by LiveCycle then Adobe Mobile Reader cannot open the form  and I suspect there maybe no iOS app that can process the form.
As noted, you need to use a computer to fill-in the form. You also might want to inform the bank about the issue.

  • Cannot view PDF forms (with Signature) in Workspace Error : "SigDict/Contents illegal data"

    Hello,
With Jasmin's help, I am able to import a PDF form which is digitally signed >> view it in Workspace >> click Approve/Decline for archiving. Thanks Jasmin !
When I view the form in workspace, I get a "Atleast one signature is invalid" prompt on the top left corner of the window. Upon clicking the "Signature Panel", it says "The Signature is invalid" with a description of "SigDict/Contents illegal data"
Once the process is complete, I am unable to open the same form. I get an error message in Adobe Reader (within workspace).
"Adobe Reader could not open '_7358722841708390983-102[1]' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attachments and wasn't correctly decoded)"
Any help will be highly appreciated.

    For everyone's reference.
I figured out the "Signature is Invalid" message.
This was my fault as I used a Form Augmenter (insert form bridge) to a signed form which broke the PDF.
After removing that module, I no longer got that message. However, once I approve the form I could no loner view it and I would still get an error.

    Anyone know why ?

  • Cannot submit pdf form online

the problem seems to be that the interactive pdf form that used to open within the browser is now opening outside the browser (both IE8 and Firefox) as a temp file so I can fill it out but when I hit "save for later" or "submit" I get the adobe error "error opening url to submit this form". What setting has gotten set incorrectly? I have been using this site for years with no problem up until recently.

  • Cannot display pdf form with Adobe Reader 9.1.3

Since the last update of my Reader (last version is 9.1.3), I can't display pdf form in the workspace. I got a blank page.
Is anybody have the same problem?

    -  Go to the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > Software > Adobe >Acrobat> delete any older version that is older than the one you just updated to make sure it contains only the current one you have for both Acrobat Reader and/or Pro version since it did not removed when you uninstall or update.
    - Also go the installed directory where you installed the Acrobat and delete any folder that contains older version, same here with the registry, it did not remove when you uninstall/update acrobat reader or pro.
The above steps also solve the problem of can not open pdf file within Internet Explorer or browser as well.

  • Submit signed pdf form to url returns to local view of url

    Hello,
I am currently using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8, Adabe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Reader 9.
I want to make a form that can be filled and signed with Reader. I created the form with the the designer and added a submit button that sends the page to a URL. I send the page as an PDF to the url.
I can create the form so far no problem. I also can make it fillable in the Reader. Filling in the form and signing in the Reader also works fine but when I perform the submit the result page in the browser isn't the url specified in de settings of the button.
The url is something like this: C:\Users\jt\AppData\Local\Temp\A9R9D46.htm
The content of the page is the one from the web page specified in the url where de PDF is submitted to but it has to be show in the specified location and not local in a temporary html file.
Does anyone know how I can go to the url specified in the submit button not locally but on the actual web page.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

Acrobat Pro allows users to export the form data a number of different ways. For example, in Acrobat 7, use the menu item "Advanced > Forms > Export Data from Form...". There are also various JavaScript methods that allow one to export a data file (e.g., exportAsFDF).

  • Cannot edit PDF form fields

    Windows 8.1, IE 11, Acrobat Reader (11.0.10), Acrobat Pro X1 (11.0.10)
I received a PDF that contains what are supposedly editable form fields. When I open the document in Adobe Reader (11.0.10), a green bar appears above the top of the document stating that "This file includes fillable form fields. You can print the completed form and save it to your device of Acrobat.com", however, I am unable to type into any of the fields. Its document properties indicate that the file has "No Security", and that all operations are marked as "Allowed". I click "Highlight Existing Fields" and all the fields (dozens of them) appear highlighted, as expected. I simply cannot enter any data into the form.
To investigate further, I opened the file in Acrobat XI (11.0.1), and enter Form editing mode (Tools->Forms->Edit).  I am unable to directly edit the form fields by clicking on them directly. There doesn't seem to be any invisible graphic layered on top of everything. The individual fields almost seem "disabled". I can, however see the list of fields in the navigation pane, and click on them individually from there and bring up their properties and modify them that way. I have checked the field properties and they all seem to be enabled, not locked, not read-only, etc...so I am at a loss as to what is preventing this form from being filled out in Reader, or edited normally in Acrobat.
Additional info: I checked the document properties, (Document Propertied-->Description) and in the "Advanced" section, the PDF producer says that the PDF version is 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x) so I suspect this might be part of the problem. I therefore did a "Save as other...-->Reader Extended PDF-->Enable More Tools" as an attempt to upgrade the file, but that didn't help.
    Any help appreciated!
