Cannot start AS Java
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade my SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 EHP1 (32b) to SP05.
Unfortunately, during deplyment, just after the one of JVM components (from 5.01.24.0 to 5.01.53.0), the procedure is trying to restart AS Java unsuccessfully. Result is that the deployment cannot proceed properly.
I tried to restart AS java by myself, but from log (down here) it seems the start of java.exe is exceeding the whatchdog timeout, then it is skipped:

Maybe, my server is very slow, where I can configure Watchdog timeout? (it's not depending from the timelimit prompted after pressing start option).
What can be other reasons to my issue?
tnx
best regards
Hi,
Possible reason: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1537078
< I031257 NOV/19/08 >----
Phase DEPLOY_ONLINE_DEPL: Timeout During AS Java Restart
On slow/loaded systems, the DEPLOY_ONLINE_DEPL phase might fail due to a timeout during AS Java restart. This restart can take several hours as during this time portal applications are updated. If this restart takes longer than expected (3h), the Software Update Manager stops with an error.
To complete the update process, wait for the AS Java restart in SAFE mode to finish and then resume SUM. If the system is still in SAFE mode after the update process completes, apply SAP Note 1267123.
Also I recommend you to check free space in database.
Best Regards,
Aleh

Netbeans 6.9.1 'cannot start java.exe'
Hello,
I've installed the JDK and then Netbeans 6.9.1 (Windows 7). When I try to run a JavaFX application, it fails ( saying 'cannot start java.exe' ).
Just found [http://www.netbeans-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4220|http://www.netbeans-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4220]
But locating the JDK on a different place ( using a path without whitespaces ) also didn't help.
What could be the problem?
thanks
Edited by: Lichti on Sep 4, 2010 1:17 PMYou can also specify which JDK Netbeans uses (as the default JDK and thus as the JDK used by the JavaFX module) by modifying netbeans_jdkhome in C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.9.1\etc\netbeans.conf

I am not able to start the java server installed on my machine. NW CE 711 is installed on my machine.
Details:
Database : MaxDB
OS Platform : Windows Vista
SID/Nr : CE1
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start MaxDB.
2. Open SAP Management Console.
3. Go to the instance INLN50090788A 0 and then Start.
4. Mention the windows login and then start.
5. After around 01:09 minutes, click 'Process list'.
6. You will see that jstart.EXE is stopped and igswd.EXE is running.
7. The trace file shows the following entries:

Urgent: cannot start the shadow instance at phase STARTSAP_TRANS
We are upgrading to NW2004s (ABAP only) from 640.
<u><b>How to re-start the shadow instance?</b></u>
At this point, <b>anyway we cannot start the shadow instance.</b>
At SAPMMC, the disp+work
1) first show "running but the dialog queue standstill"
2) then show" running but not connected to the message server"
3) then the disp+work dies.

Your system is configured as a non-Unicode SCP (Single Code Page) configuration.
If you plan to perform a Unicode Conversion after the upgrade, you may choose to perform a combined
Upgrade and Unicode Conversion.
In this case, several of the migration preparation steps can be done already on the start release
or on the upgrade shadow system.
For further information, please refer to OSS note 928729.

The PREPARE module Import will be started now.
During this module programs, structures, and table entries
required by PREPARE are imported (the socalled "tool import").
Note: This can cause a loss of performance in R/3
In rare cases, a concurrent transport via the transport directory
may disturb the tool import. Please avoid any concurrent import
during this PREPARE module.

J2EE Engine cannot start after applying SP11 on WAS 6.40
Hi SAP
I am upgrading my WAS 6.40 SR1 java instance from SP9 to SP11. At the last stages of the installation the Java instance is stopped & started,at the step where Java instance is started, the 'server' process of the Java instance is not coming up properly. jcmon shows the dispatcher & SDM with status 'running' while server0 is with status 'stopped'.
Since I'm using ABAP as data source to the J2EE, appears to me that the problem is occuring due to password mismatch for user SAPJSF in R/3 client 168 & between user SAPJSF in J2EE though I'm not sure why the password might change in J2EE after applying SP11.
Please advice if my reasoning is correct, if no please advice how to solve this problem.
If yes pls advice how can I change the password for user SAPJSF in J2EE. FYI I already tried changing the password for user SAPJSF using the offline config tool, Under cluster-data-> Instance_ID87066 I select the
services com.sap.security.core.ume.service, then I select the ume.r3.connection.master.passwd, then the problem is inside the value option I'm not able to input the new password, neither I'm able to delete the old password, so the best thing I can do is Click on Set which opens a small window without any description with 2 options OK & Cancel, here I put the password same as R/3 password & save, after this I re-start the J2EE, but the same problem persists. Please advice on solving the problem.

Cannot start Solaris Management Console in Solaris 9
I cannot start the Solaris Management Console in Solaris 9. The splash screen appears for a few seconds, then nothing else.
There is a error: "Assertion Fail: Offset < fFileSize ..." something like that.
Please help me~~~~~~~Java Bug 4838130:
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4838130.html
suggests to trace the problem by running the java application with JAVA2D_DEBUGFONTS defined, so try

The bug report also documents a workaround: Set the environment variable JAVA_FONTS to

I can ensure that all of these connection pool has configured to run on 9093 port already. Then I view the DOMAIN_NAME/pointbase.log, it said:
Unable to start the server. start server error: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
I cannot understand what's run on pointbase address ?
All of these error make me angry, because I've configured with the same way on other system and It's work. I've spent all of week to fix these bug, but I'm having nothing :((
Please help me.Thank Jay SenSharma.
I've looked for these JAVA_OPTION values you said, but I cant found them. That value is content of JAVA_DEBUG option, not JAVA_OPTION. In my situation, JAVA_DEBUG=" " (it's not set by default).

Re Post: Http server cannot start after running the following JSP
Hi,
I have 9iAS 1.0.2.2 and it has been working fine.
My http server was running fine until I ran the following Jsp. Now I cannot start the Http server at all.
I check the Oracle home and the path and make sure they match (i.e. if my Oracle Home is iSuites, I have the PATH variable: c:\oracle\isuites\bin as the 1st one. And I reboot the system after I changed the Oracle Home, check the PATH variable etc.)
I also check the oci.dll files, and I have the oci.dll file in the following directories:
c:\oracle\ora81\BIN 87KB
c:\oracle\806\BIN 38KB
c:\oracle\iSuites\BIN 87KB
I check the Registry (regedit) and found that I have ORACLE_HOME_KEY for ora81 home, iSuites home, but not
806 home. And there are oracle.key files in c:\oracle\ora81\bin, c:\oracle\806\bin, c:\oracle\isuites\bin .
The contents of oracle.key in c:\oracle\ora81\bin and c:\oracle\isuites\bin are correct (i.e. "Software\ORACLE\HOME0" "Software\ORACLE\HOME2" respectively.) However, the content in c:\oracle\806\bin is "Software\ORACLE" .
Will this be a problem because there is no corresponding ORACLE_HOME_KEY for 806 in regedit?
OR
the OCI.DLL file is corrupted in one of the above directory.
Below is the JSP code that I ran. Before that, my HTTP server is started correctly.
I really appreciate if someone could give me some pointers about this.
I also suspect that when the HTTP server was brought down for some reasons and it was not a clean shutdown.
So how can I shutdown the http server cleanly before restarting that?
Thanks;
Kelly.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/GNOME/Accessibility/JavaBridge (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
It turned out that something (I suspect the patch) had replaced my java1.5.0_06 binary with a java1.4.2_03 binary - but left the java1.5 directory structure alone! i.e. looking in /usr/jdk would have indicated that java1.5 was installed, but when I ran jdk1.5.0_06/bin/java -version , it reported java version "1.4.2_03". I was unimpressed.
I ended up removing all the SUNWj5* packages and reinstalling them and then I could start the admin console.
Now to find out what other damage this patch might have caused..... -

JMXConnectorServer.start() causes java.rmi.AccessException
Hi all,
I've already posted this message to the tomcat mailing list as well as to the jmx forum, but without any result.
I've a web service running inside tomcat which
creates the jmx stuff needed to manage resources:
LocateRegistry.createRegistry(port);
String localhost = InetAddress.getLocalHost().getCanonicalHostName();
MBeanServer mbs = MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer();
// it is the same with getPlatformMBean
JMXServiceURL url = new JMXServiceURL("service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://" + localhost + ":"
+ port + "/qosp");
JMXConnectorServer cs =
JMXConnectorServerFactory.newJMXConnectorServer(url, null, mbs);
cs.start();The problem is that I get a java.rmi.AcessException -- see below -- when the cs.start() call is executed (on linux machines only -- it works fine on Windows)
The problem seems to be the following:
Caused by: java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in
server thread; nested exception is:
java.rmi.AccessException: Registry.Registry.bind disallowed; origin /
128.240.229.70 is non-local host
However my machine does not have that address, and actually I have no idea what it is.
Any clue?

InetAddress.getLocalHost().getCanonicalHostName() is
returning a bogus name? Could you replace it with
.getHostName()?Yes, I did it, but nothing changed, so I tried to hardcode the 'localhost' when I create the JMXServiceURL instead of using the value returned by InetAddress.getLocalHost().get* and it worked.
Could it be because of network settings (I'm running behind a proxy)?

Cannot start JNLP applet on IE 9 64 bits (replicated)
Hello,
I made a post on the "Applets" section of the forum, but after further search I think it should have been here, so I leave the link
Cannot start JNLP applet on IE 9 64 bits
Ty
Cad
To any moderator, feel free to delete this thread and move the one posted above to this section1) Make sure you have correct version of JRE installed. Need 32 for 32 bit browser and 64 bit otherwise.
Check list of installed plugins in IE to see if java plugin is listed.
2) Make sure java plugin is enabled for IE in the Control Panel.
If UAC is on then you need to run Java Control Panel as administrator for settings to take effect.
3) Create small bat file to launch IE:
set JPI_PLUGIN2_DEBUG=true
<path-to-ie>\iexplore.exe
Close IE and launch using this file. Try to open any applet, you should see window with trace log. Does it mention any errors?
Please paste content here if you need further help. -

When I remove boot.properties file from $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/dummy_domain/servers/AdminServer/security
I am able to start AdminServer, however, the ManagedServers do not start. When I try to use boot.properties file for AdminServer it will not start neither will Managed Servers.
If anyone has idea how to resolve the issue, please let me know. I have tried using the following commands to change the passwords for ManagedServers to no success:
cd /weblogic1033/oracle/user_projects/domains/dummy_domain/security
java -cp /weblogic1033/oracle/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.jar:$CLASSPATH weblogic.security.utils.AdminAccount newuser newpassword .
It works but fails to change the password. I also tried changing settings for LDAP and security in the admin console to no success in resolving this issue.Take a backup of ldap folder under servers/managedServerName/data folder and delete those and thn restart managed servers,

I request everyone that if any one has idea on the above error then please throw light on me , this issue is really annoying me.
Also to make sure i tried starting startManagedWebLogic.cmd and sucessfull can see soa_server1 in running state.Note that it is saying that it cannot the file
" Cannot run program "E:\Oracle\MiddleWare\wlserver_10.3\common\bin\bin\startWebLogic.cmd" (in directory "E:\Oracle\MiddleWare\wlserver_10.3\common\bin"): CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified"
What is somewhat strange is that it is expecting startWebLogic to be present in ${WL_HOME}/common/bin/bin. The second /bin/ does not exist (well not in normal installations). Also the location of startWebLogic is odd, usually this should be present, in the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/bin directory. Could be there are some paths incorrect in JDeveloper.
