Cannot start CS:GO on my alienware 17 windows 8.1 (there app crashes before start)

I have the CS:GO installed on my new alienware 17 (june 2013) but when I try to run the game the game crashes and nothing shows up. it is note worthy when I disable the mSATA acceleration from Intel rapid storage technology (disabling Intel Smart Response
Technology) the game loads without any problem.
Either RAM and mSATA has been checked and are working correctly and have no errors. Other apps and games are working correctly. The system has the following Specifications:
Processor: 4th Generation Intel(R)Core(TM)i7-4910MQ processor
Memory : 32GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
HDD: 80GB mSATA Staging + 1TB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GT 880M with 8GB GDDR5
Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit
And here are event viewer results of the game crash:

  • LR 3.6 App Crash at start (Win 7 64bit Pro)

    Hi,
After updating to LR3.6 I have (several times) experienced "a crash" when starting Lightroom: The screen gets greyed out, and application is not responding. This happens after I have selected the catalog during startup, and application starts to draw it's main view. Windows reports the following:

Before updating to 3.6 (64bit version, naturally) I have been running previous version without any issues. Today, after crash Windows stated the following: "To try and fix the problem, Windows has applied compatibility settings to this program. Windows will use there settings the next time you run the program." With compatibility setting the program seems to start ok, but this should run without any tweaking, right?
Now, I'm concerned what has changed, as I have done no changes to the workstation, except windows security updates. Any clues on how to trouble shoot? Any help would be appreciated.
Operating system is Windows 7, 64bit Pro.

Add that I have also tried to clone the HD in question on a firewire HD, connecting it to another G4 and launching the application from it, premiere starts slowly, then, on the same computer I booted from that firewire Hd cloned and gives the same error, summarizing the hd firewire connected to another g4 ago as a secondary launch the application, but booting from it thereby making the primary application does not start anymore, so I suppose it is a problem of any extension that goes on in conflict that specific disc, thus excluding hardware problems ... any suggestions?

I don't understand. I tried to uninstall ans install again, but don't work. What I have to do?

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Lion or Snow Leopard? If Lion, boot into your Recovery partition (hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and use Disk Utility to verify and, if needed, repair the boot volume.
If Snow Leopard, use the installation disc and use Disk Utility in the same manner.

  • Apps crashing on start after update to 6.1.3

I recently updated my iPhone 4S with the latest software version 6.1.3.
After the update I tried to back up my phone, and then restore it, due to some glitches I was experiencing. All appeared to go well until I tried to back-up restore. Whether I try to back-up from iTunes or the Cloud, it tells me my bak-up is corrupt or not capitable with my phone. I know the latter is not the case.
I gave up trying to restore from the latest back-up and used one from 10 weeks ago. That also seemed to work fine until I tried to open my apps. They all crash on start -- all of them.
I have since done a hard restart (holding down the top-left button and the home button to restart the phone), I've reset to factory settings, I have tried syncing my apps from iTunes, I've even tried deleting the apps and re-downloading them from the App Store and nothing is working.
This is insanely frustrating. Is there ANYONE who can help me solve this really annoying issue?
Even more annpying is I am still getting notified when I am sent a message via the "Viber" app or a new "SnapChat" ... yet when I go to open the app to retrieve the message, it crashes before it even opens... WHAT is happening and HOW do I fix this?! PLEASE HELP!

I tried your suggestion, but no such luck! I feel like I've tried everything. I just don't understand it. Everything was working as per usual up until I updated the software, but that can't possibly be the problem, can it? And if it is - what now?! ... This is a seriously annoying first world problem..

  • I just downloaded Firefox 4 and I run Windows 7 Ultimate and it crashes before it loads up I double click the link and it brings up the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" everytime I try to start it.

Basically I downloaded Firefox 4 when it was a beta and now after it's been released and everytime I double click the shortcut or the direct link in the start menu and it shows my mouse with the loading icon and then it pops up the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" and I've submitted multiple reports and got nothing back and I now can't revert back to pre-4.0 Firefox to even just use it while the problem is rectified.

Your best bet would be to uninstall the BETA and install the actual release, instructions as follows.
    * Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file to the desktop. If necessary, download the file with IE8 or 9, but choose to save it to your desktop when you see the prompt.
    * Hit '''CTRL+SHIFT+ESC''' to bring up '''Task Manager''', go to the '''Processes '''list and see if you can find '''firefox.exe''' running in there. If you do, right click it and choose "'''Kill Process'''".
    * Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to '''Mozilla Firefox''' and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
    * Then reboot and delete the folder called '''Mozilla Firefox''' at this location: ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
    * Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
If you prefer to install the previous secure version which is v3.6.16, use the following link, otherwise the procedure is the same: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16]

  • Premiere Pro CC App Crashing at start up

I just downloaded the Adobe Premiere App as a Trial Version and every time i start it up it crashes. Troubleshooting on the website hasn't helped.
I also installed Photoshop which works perfectly fine...
    Any Help?

    Hi Sumit Singh,
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-Bit Version
This is the error message I am getting, the standard window that pops up when something crashes...
I have never used Premiere before, that's why I wanted to try it out for a project and no I cannot get a crash detail.
Other Programs like Sony Vegas work just fine on my Computer, so I am not sure if the problem lies with my computer or with the downloaded Trial.
    Thanks for your help

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 crashing before starting 5.0.2.4

    Hi there,
Adobe bridge is crashing for me before even starting.
I'm running as an Administrator on Windows 7x64 and using the latest version of Bridge, 5.0.2.4
It came with Adobe inDesign 8.0.2 which works perfectly, the only problematic app on the workstation is Bridge.
I do have a version of Adobe Photoshop CS2 also installed. I understand this was an issue that was supposedly patched by Adobe a year ago reading up on the forums but this problem still obviously exists.
Even uninstalling all CS2 products and running CCleaner to wipe out all registry references to CS2 does not fix Bridge CS6.
Adobe, please advice on what to do next

  • App Crash - just started

Because I already have a lot of things I like very much about PV2012, I've been processing a weekend event's pictures and publishing to my smugmug with no issues whatsoever the past 3 days (almost 3000 images published so far, and yes, I have the originals backed up separately - I know this is BETA - but this is the best way for me to evaluate the program AND get work done at the same time).
I've been working in LR4 for 2 solid days on this particular event - and I am down to the last 3 groups of photos - and this morning for the first time - LR4 has crashed twice during the upload to smugmug. I notice from the crash details it is specifying CameraRaw as a problem area - but I'm not working with raw files at all - everything from this event was jpg.
I'm not running anything else out of the ordinary (actually I don't have as much open right now as I have the past two days since it's early and I'm having a hard time getting motivated this morning LOL). What information can I give that might be more helpful? I'm going to go ahead and do a reboot after I post this and start again fresh - but basic info - I'm on a Sony Vaio Laptop, Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2, Core 2 Duo CPU 2.0 GHz, 2 GB ram, 32 bit. I worked in LR4 at least 12 hours on both Sunday and Monday, almost nonstop, and this morning is the very first time it has crashed since installing.

Jao - I realize all of that. Nothing I am doing in LR4 is impacting any of my originals and as I said, as of this morning I am having to go back to 3.6 to finish up this particular production work. I could have done so at any time - but there are DEFINATE and SIGNIFICANT improvements in PV2012 for the type of action photography I am in the middle of - enough to have made it worth diving in for the last 3000 images that are successfully published. Just wish I had finished the last several hundred last night before it got buggy LOL.
Now I have to figure out how to get as close to PV2012 as I can - with the PV2010 version in 3.6 for these last 3 schools. I miss it already.
For the record - everything I have worked on in the BETA is imported as clean new images, straight from the card so to speak. No crossing over from the previous version on files already worked on in 3.6. No changes to default metadata. No external plugins - just the bare basic BETA 4 on untouched images.

  • Photoshop CS 5.1 Crashing Before Start

Hello, I have a bit of a problem and I'd appreciate any help.
I recently had to put in a new hard drive and reinstall Windows. Photoshop worked fine until two days ago when it stopped. When I try to start it, it will start going though the routine, but when it gets to initializing, Windows tells me that Photoshop has stopped working and is checking for a solution, but it can't find one. Some system information:
    Photoshop 5.1 12.1X64
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Geforce 230M
    6gb of Ram
I have the admin rights, and Photoshop isn't set to recognize only the admin.
Tired that trick of starting it while holding ctrl+alt+shift but it didn't do anything.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling it a few times, even redownloading it, but that didn't do anything either.
I'd really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

If you got no prompt from Photoshop when holding Control - Shift - Alt, perhaps you didn't get the keys down quickly enough.  You have to be VERY quick to get them down after cold-starting Photoshop.  It will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences if your timing is right.
Also, since you have a new system setup, check with nVidia.com to see if they have an updated GPU driver for your hardware/OS combination..

  • Firefox crashes before starting in Win 8.1

Was using Firefox then shut it down. Opened PhotoImpact Pro 13 and was using that when about 10 minutes later I reopened Firefox. It crashed without opening. Couldn't get it to start. Other browsers worked fine. Searched internet, tried resolutions like: Restarting PC, refreshing FIrefox, troubleshooting PC, starting Firefox in Safe Mode (wouldn't start), deleted Firefox, did clean reinstall, nothing worked. Even replaced wifi net connection with cable, in case wifi adapter was interfering somehow.
    I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Hi, we're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#On the keyboard, press [Windows] [[Image:Windows key]] + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, type '''%APPDATA%''' and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!
You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the [[Firefox crashes]] article.

  • Windows 7 64 bit apps crashing, dde server error

Hi, I am having problems with a new Windows 7, 64 bit system. Acrobat 9 frequently crashes programs when it's invoked, for instance when trying to print a web page to PDF from Firefox, or making a PDF from a Word document. Firefox or Word will crash, with no errors. Acrobat is also giving these errors freqently: "Fatal error: failed to connect to dde server"
Other installed apps include MS Office 2007 and Symantec Endpoint Protection, SAS JMP, Endnote.
    thanks for any suggestions.

  • Tom tom app crashes on start up

I purchased Tom tom western Europe app. As app start up is attempted, the tom tom logo appears and the app then quits. I have tried reinstalling, deleting, and re-purchasing and reinstalling the app, but nothing seems to work. My 3GS is fully up to date and Itunes is also fully up to date.

If you haven't already, update to OS 3.1.2.
If needed, restore as a new iPhone, not from a backup, and install TomTom without any other 3rd party apps. If it works, add your other apps one by one, testing after each addition to see if there is another app interfering
If that doesn't help, and this is the only app giving you trouble, contact TomTom - there may be a bug in your version.

  • Windows 8.1 - Revel App Crash - Initial Photo Upload

Hi, i'm a recent subscriber for the unlimited storage plan. I've installed the revel windows 8.1 app. It lauches fine, but when I select the network drives i want uploaded, the app begins to traverse the folders. After a few minutes of query pictures to upload, the application crashes. I restart the app and it's as though i've never configured the monitored picture/video folders. I've tried it a couple times. Including a reboot and two other windows 8.1 64bit machines (and one windows 10 machine). Nothing seems to work.
I've got ~600 gig of photos to upload. I really need the upload portion of revel to be bullet proof. Please advise.
    Revel version info: 1.5.101.6
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Seth,
Based on your last post you are using Elements with Revel. I am going to move this post to the Elements Forums as they may better assist in how Elements works and if there are better cloud services to suit your needs.
    Best regards,
    Glenyse
