Cannot start lenovo desktop Model No. H530S

I have a lenovo desktop Model No. H530S and am having problems starting it at all.
It keeps requesting the System Power on Password, which I did not set so I have no Idea what it is!
Also when I go into the BIOS setup screen, everything is completely out of allignment and pretty much impossible to read. (I have linked to some screenshots of it below so you can see what I mean.) Also is is not possible to change a single setting in any of these screens, for some reason it appears to have locked me out of everything!
I have even tried booting a portable OS from a USB key, just to try to get in, but it just locks me out when I get the System Power on Password incorrect 3 times.
Is there any help or advice you could give me as I'm totally stuck!?

Hi Jadugar,
Welcome to Lenovo forums
As I understood that you are looking for the graphics card which is compatible with your H530s desktop.
As this model is compatible with AMD Radeon HD  up to  2GB or NVIDIA GeForce GT 635 2GB.
Also you need to install the driver which supports these graphic cards.
Hope this helps! Do post us back for further queries.
Best regards,

  • Cannot start xfce4 desktop environment

    Hello all,
I have just installed a fresh Arch install. I cannot seem to start the xfce4 gui though.
I have installed the xfce4 package, yet when i run startxfce4 i receive the following error.
    /usr/bin/startxfce4: Starting X server
/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc: line 1: /usr/bin/xfce: No such file or directory
/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc: line 1: exec: /usr/bin/xfce: cannot execute: No such file or directory
    <init: giving up
<init: unable to connect to X sercer: Connection refused
    <init: server error

Have you manually edited /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc? I have just checked and /usr/bin/xfce does not exist on my system. As a workaround, you could try installing a display manager (XDM/KDM/GDM/SLiM) and try to start xfce from there. As another option, you could use a .xinitrc file with 'exec startxfce4' and run X using 'startx'.
    Edit: typo

  • Twist/S230u bug: cannot start Lenovo Solutions for Small Business after installing updates

An issue may happen after running ThinkVantage System Update and selecting all available updates.  After rebooting, Lenovo Solutions for Small Business will fail to launch.  This issue happens because of a failure during one of the updates.
To fix the issue, download and install the Intel MEI driver.  Although this software is already installed on your system, it is in a broken state.  Installing it again will fix it, and let Lenovo Solutions for Small Business run successfully.

Uploaded my iPhone 4 with the iOS 6, not my desktop Mac (iTunes 10.7) tells me it cannot start sync - can somebody help

The next iOS update won't change this.
Are you able to transfer anything else from your iTunes library and computer via the iTunes sync process such as a movie, TV show, podcast, audio or print book, apps, and photos from your computer?

  • After MS13-098 and SecurityAdvisory(2915720), Windows Server 2003 Remote Desktop(TermService) cannot start service

I have trouble with Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard. I installed the KB2893294(MS13-098) patch, and I changed the registry that is suggested actions of Security Advisory(2915720) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/advisory/2915720
    Suggested Actions:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Wintrust\Config]
    "EnableCertPaddingCheck"="1"
After rebooting the event viewer(system) says:
     Event Type: Error
     Event Source: TermService
     Event Category: None
     Event ID: 1014
     User:  N/A
     Description:
     Cannot load illegal module: C:\Windows\system32\rdpwsx.DLL
After I cannot use Remote Desktop Connection from other client.
So I check the all security patches and other hotfixies. I checked the KB2653956 and KB958476.
But TermService do not recover the error.
And then, I delete the "EnableCertPaddingCheck" registry and reboot systems.
TermService have no error. I can use Remote Desktop Connection from other client.
After KB2893294 installed, Remote Desktop Connection cannot use from other client that "EnableCertPaddingCheck" registry set to "1".
Other Windows Server 2008 systems do not effect the KB2893294 patch. But All Windows Server 2003 systems cannot use the Remote Desktop Connections after the KB2893294 patch.

    Update on this issue:
The debug team has accepted the issue and has identified it as a regression.  Right now they're targeting *June* as the release date for a fix.  I'm attempting to educate them that customers don't just install patches the day (or even month) they're
released and that the fix needs to be moved up in priority to give a minimum of 60 days to install the patch before the time-bomb explodes.
In the meantime, a workaround has been provided that will turn off the new functionality.  Note that I have not yet had a chance to test this.  It entails creating a new DWORD registry entry--UseLegacyPE--and setting it to 1.
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ImageHlp\UseLegacyPE
I will update this thread when I have further information.

  • SB Play (Model No SB1140) on Win XP Pro SP3 cannot start

When I plugged it in initially, XP immediately recognised the new device but gave "Cannot install this Hardware. The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software".
I tried installing the software from the CD. The problem remained.
I used Device Manager to force Windows to use the SB Play driver for the device. I immediately received the error "This device cannot start (Code 0)".
The problem feels like bad firmware in the device, and I am intending to ask for a replacement. However, I may just have done something stupid. Can anyone suggest an action I should take, or have seen something similar?

Hi!?It would be nice if someone of the Creative Crew could help me. I have enjoyed many Sb cards and hopefully this aint a disapointment compairing to the other ones. If you dont have any idea how to solve this, please informe me. I dont want to posses a sound card that wont work on my PC.
    Thanks.

  • USB "This device Cannot Start."

Ok so I use my T510 for work and that includes interfacing with USB data collecting tools that use 'generic' HID drivers to function. No issues till now.
Today however with my new device I am getting a Code 10 "This device cannot start." Error.
So I tried it on my non Lenovo desktop, worked fine. Tried it on my old Dell Laptop, works fine. Tried it on the secritary's Compaq, works fine. Tried it on a T510 identical to mine and it doesn't work.
Looking around the driver data and trying everything from deleting everything under USB the only difference in settings and driver files is on the Lenovo computers it uses a file "ApsHM64.sys". Tried removing the file just to see what happended and I basically lost all my USB devices, mouse and keyboard included.
Doing some google searching the file is part of the built in Lenovo applications. So I've been ripping most of them out, as I've bypassed them anyway. Still no luck!
    Any help would be AWESOME!
    Thanks!

    hey joetama,
have you tried going to the device manager and reinstalling the USB drivers using the Rollback Drivers?
If you did, was there any errors during the installation?
I would recommend doing an update of your BIOS as well as the Chipset, if you haven't done so ?

You're not supposed to execute gdm as a user, it's meant to be started as a serverce on your system before you login. It's a means by which you login.
You need to edit your /etc/initab for gdm to work. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … tab_method
If you don't want a graphical boot and want to start gnome after loging in, see startx. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Startx

  • R61: Intel 82566MC Gigabit Network Device Cannot Start (Code 10)

    Hi
I purchased a Western Digital 7200 rpm 320 GB hard drive (the WD3200BJKT) a few days ago to be installed in my ThinkPad R61 (model 773215A). After making a fresh install of Windows XP SP3 and all the drivers, everything seemed to work fine except for my ethernet device, which is an Intel 82566MC Gigabit Network Connection. I obtained the following error code: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". The ethernet device only functioned once, which was right after I installed its driver after the fresh install of Windows XP. However as soon as I rebooted, I received the above mentioned error code. By the way, the device was working fine before I changed my hard drive.
I have tried everything described in troubleshooting guides available online, including disabling and enabling the ethernet device, uninstalling and reinstalling the ethernet device and updating the drivers, but to no avail. The only way I could make it function again is by switching off my notebook, unplugging and replugging the power adapter and finally switching the notebook on again. If I were to do a restart, or switch my notebook off and on without unplugging the power adapter, the ethernet device would not function.
I have a feeling that it might be the bios. I am currently using the latest bios (version 2.26), and I noticed that this bios was 'supposed' to fix "The "New Hardware Found" message for Intel Gigabit Ethernet may appear." Looks like some problems with the Intel Gigabit Ethernet still exist. However I have tried flashing several older versions of the bios, but the problem still persists. Appreciate any help/suggestions I could get. Thanks.

    Hello
I bought my R61 beginning of 2008, and since then I had this problem - only with the LAN device, NOT with WLAN - 3 times. It did never have something to do with reinstalling Windows or installing a new device like a HD, it just happend, usually after configuering new network properties (with the tool Access Connections).
The first time when I experienced this, I tried to reinstall the NIC driver, but that didn't help.
Every time, after 2 or 3 days, the problem simply disapeard.
I have on the same laptop, on a second HD partition, a Debian Linux installed. This time, my NIC started its "time-out" after configuering new network properties on Linux, and it does not work anymore on neither Linux nor Windows (2 days so far).
It's really annoying, and because it seems the OS has no influence, I think it is Lenovo's job to fix this problem.
I belive it's - like mhafiz says - a BIOS problem, or some hardware issue, so please: Lenovo, it's your turn!
I always bought Thinkpad Laptops until now, and I think they are in quality high above any other brand, and I really hope this will continue.
    Chris
PS: I hope your (and also mine, like it did before) NICs will just resume operating after a while...

    Hi
The one thing that stands out in the crash report is:
    0x555000 - 0x555fff com.piclens.plugin ??? (0.1.1) /Library/InputManagers/PicLens/PicLens.bundle/Contents/MacOS/PicLens
Which version of Piclens are you using? - latest is 1.5.3 found here. I notice too it is a Beta version, which means not bug free.
Go to your Main Library (/Library)>InputManagers folder and move the PicLens item to the desktop, then restart Safari. If Safari starts up, you found the culprit. If not, move the items back to its original location.

  • I cannot start the Utility on a Win 7 service pack 1 machine

I cannot start the Utility on a Win 7 service pack 1 machine

    hi HaoleBoy,
    Welcome to the Forums.
I've worked with lenovo models that has an embedded Intel HD Graphics (these are units with core i3/i5/i7 CPU) but never ecountered a problem on them in installing Win7 SP1.
If you have one of these units, can you try to:
    1. Update your Intel HD Graphics driver by running the Intel® Driver Update Utility (newest driver is v15.28.15.64.3062 (9.17.10.3062)
    2. Download and install the Windows 7 SP1 Standalone Installer (choose the windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe 903.2 MB for Win7 64bit)
    Hope this helps
