Hi
Did you change anything on your notebook?
I mean if your HDD recovery partition has been changed or the data o thin partition has been deleted?
To be honest for me it looks like the OS issue. I think its not a single tool issue but I think the operating system has been muddled up
Maybe you should try to recover the notebook using the Toshiba HDD recovery option and after the new OS installation on the notebook you could try to create the recovery disk again.
In order to start the recovery you have to press the F8 immediately after the notebook has been powered up. Then you should choose the first option called Repair My Computer.
This would lead to a new window and there you could choose Toshiba HDD recovery.
But note; this recovery would format the whole HDD so maybe you should backup some data before you would start this procedure.

  • Satellite L500D PSLK0A Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not run correctly

    Hi,
I am trying to create a recovery disc for my Toshiba Satellite L500D PSLK0A-00U009.
When I run the Recovery Disc Creator it begins to open then it comes up with a box with an exclamation mark then it says 'Can not open target partition'. Then the Recovery Disc Creator will open. It then appears normal then when I insert a CD to being the process it looks as though it is going to work then it says Error and stops and ejects the CD the Error is code is: 0E01B5-26-510444D9
I have already uninstalled then program then reinstalled it using a download from the MyToshiba website and this did not fix the problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Did you try different disks from different manufactures?
How about the usage of USB flash memory stick? As far as I know you can create an bootable USB Recovery flash stick too.

  • NB200-10Z: Can't make recovery disk using TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator

    Hi Folks,
I finally got round to buying a USB DVD drive in order to create recovery discs for my NB200-10Z. I got the following:
    * Samsung SE-S084C, External USB 2.0 Slimline 8X DVD Writer, Black
I have twice tried to create a recovery disc and am now left with two trashed DVDs. The error codes in the error window are:
    Error Code: 0E01B5-26-2A040803
    Error code: 02016F-3C-00000000
The first time the burning was stopped, the second time the verify failed.
Can anyone shed light on this?

    *Short version:*
Thank you to everybody who replied.
I decided to try out the USB DVD drive on another laptop to perform a HDD backup operation...and it failed as well. Grrrr. Same DVD media (I just hadn't got round to getting new media to try).
I think I shall discount the possiblility of the NB200 being at fault, and therefore shall consider this question answered on this forum.
    *Long version:*
Well, I ended up using Virtual CD to "burn" an ISO file to HDD, and then copied that to another laptop to burn to DVD (not using the USB DVD drive, but the same DVD media type). Being the curious type I decided to perform a restore using the USB DVD drive. It got part way through installation then informs me that a CRC check had failed...argggg.
So, to cut a long story even shorter, I ended up slipstreaming the Intel storage drivers into a Win XP ISO (created from a Win XP CD I had from another previous laptop) and creating a bootable USB drive. Now I have a clean install with all the NB200 driver installed. Phew.
Actually, to think a bit more about it, I could have attempted to put the Toshiba recovery ISO onto the bootable USB drive, but I've done the clean install now anyway.
For whatever reason, I had such trouble getting the NB200 BIOS to recognise the USB DVD drive in order to change the boot order (it wasn't in the option list). This was with the DVD in the tray, and without the DVD in the tray. Some investigation required on my part, I think, to determine exactly what is going on.

  • Recovery Disc's needed for Satellite A300

    Hi,
Trying to fix a mates laptop, had lots of issues so tried to put it back to out of the box state but when loading the disc's on 2nd disc fails to read and I get an error. Tried buring it at min speed but still no good.
Just wondering where I would get them from. Model number is: PSAG4A-02E00M.
    Cheers,
    Matt

    Hi,
    1. have you tried to restore from Hdd image as written in this article?
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=58
    2. but when loading the disc's on 2nd disc fails to read and I get an error
It looks like it scratched and some files can't be read. As I know, the 2nd Dvd contains drivers/utilities that you can install yourself from Toshiba driver pages. It depends on model:
    [European Toshiba Driver Page|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]
    [Canadian Toshiba Driver Page|http://support.toshiba.ca/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp]
    [Australian Toshiba Driver Page|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support]
    [American Toshiba Driver Page|http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp]
    > Just wondering where I would get them from
Unfortunately, it's not free to order recovery disk, you have to pay. For European models, you can order here:
    [Recovery disk|https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx]
For other models (country regions), you should check on above mentioned sites

  • Toshiba NB200-10z - recovery disc creator.lnk isn't available

Hello, I have a problem with my netbook Toshiba NB200-10z, when I run Toshiba recovery disc creator I get the window with:
The unit or network connection to which the link refers "recovery disc creator.lnk isn't available.
Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available and try again
    How can I fix it?

Since this is an English language forum you should post the message in English language.
I assume you are not able to start the Recovery disk creator software
    Why?? Who knows.
Try to recover the notebook using HDD recovery option:
Press F8, choose Repair my Computer, and HDD recovery.
If this would not be available or possiblewell you will need to try to order a recovery disk from Toshiba or would try to install the system using another disk

  • Satellite U400 Impossible to create recovery DVD with Recovery disc creator

    Hi,
I have a Satellite U400 (few years old), and I never created the recovery DVD.
Now I want to do it, but for some reasons, when I launch Toshiba recovery disc creator, nothing happens...
The partition with the recovery files is there, as well as the folder HDDRecovery. I did add some files to this partition, could this be the problem ?
    Thanks for your help.

It is big problem now if the Toshiba tool cannot find the files.
How it works you can read on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=140985
    Check it out please.
What you can try now is to check if HDD recovery installation will start - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm but Im afraid the same problem will occurs again.
To be honest you should install Win7 32bit on this small Satellite notebook. It works perfectly. Forget original Vista OS, Win7 works better.

  • Recovery Disc Creator does not list any discs for creation

Brand new NB200-10G (this a UK model). When I run TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator it does not show any discs for creation and the CREATE option is greyed out so I cannot create the discs. Now... when I first got it I did not have a USB DVD writer with me but I ran RDC out of curiosity to see the devices it might offer. At that time it DID list discs to be created but I cancelled out. I get the impression the program thinks it has created the discs and I believe I read somewhere that it will not create the discs more than once. I think it must have set a switch in the registry or .ini files somewhere to indicate that the discs have been created. If so does anyone know how to "undo" this? Drive D (data) and hidden partition *appear* to be intact.
If this is not possible then I guess I could try the "press key 0 at power up" method to restore to original install setting and this might then enable me to create the discs but I'm concerned that if the restore fails in a destructive way that I might be left without a working PC. TIA Ken
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    OK all fixed!
Restore using key 0 at power up worked fine and cured the ToRDC problem. It then let me produce 2 copies of the restore DVD. Don't know what caused the problem... issue CLOSED.

  • Should I get recovery DVD with brand new Satellite A300-16I?

    Hi,
Does anyone know if a windows Vista DVD should have been included in the box? If not how do I receive a copy?
    Thanks for your help.
    Martijn

    Hello
As far as I know all new Toshiba notebooks are delivered with HDD recovery image. That means there is no recovery media anymore. When you start your notebook model you will see a reminder about creating recovery DVD.
Can you find on the desktop shortcut for Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator? If yes please start it and create recovery DVD.
Can you find HDD Recovery folder on second partition? Please do not delete it.

  • Re: Recovery disc creator cannot be launched

    Hi,
I'm having problem with my recovery disc creator, an error occured "No HDD recovery area!\nThe recovery disc can not be launched." when i'm trying to create a back-up disc.
Need help. What do i need to do?
    Many thanks.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

if you have formatted the disc then you have completely removed the hdd partitions. im sure you have figured this out but im going to say it anyway. this is the exact reason your toshiba user's guide tells you to make recovery media first before anything else is done on the laptop. with that out of the way you can order recovery media from toshiba for $25 by calling 1(800)457-7777 or ordering online here csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/serviceUnitVerification.jsp?orderType=SFF

The confusion (sorry) is from Toshiba not me or you! Here is the description from the Help file:A copy of your computers applications and drivers are stored on the hard drive. You can create an application disc by using the TOSHIBA Application Disc Creator.
The other one is a disc burning utility for files. I would like to back up drivers and applications without imaging.

  • Toshiba Recovery Media Creator Error Code 020150-20-00000000 (Satallite L755-S5308)

We just received 2 - Toshiba Satallite L755-S5308 Laptops over the thanksgiving holiday from Best Buy and the first thing we normally do after powering up the laptops is to create our recovery disc sets to DVD's. However, both laptops are giving the same error message on both machines at the same point in the creation of the Recovery DVD Disc 4 when using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. Please See Eror Message Below:
Failed To Read The Following File.
    D:\ZZImages\ZZImages\Preinst18.swm
    (Error Code: 020150-20-00000000)
If you are getting this error message then you will not be able to restore your laptop factory software and operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit)

You could create an image of the entire HDD onto another drive, but this can be a headache for a lot of users and would require specialized hardware and a HDD enclosure. As such, it's not a feasible solution.
Oh,come now.  You can buy 'specialized hardware' -- an HDD enclosure -- from a widely known online computer store for $12.99 with free shipping, and a spare plain old Seagate 500 GB hard drive (nothing very special about it, except that it costs more since the flooding in Thailand) running at 7200 rpm from a different widely known online computer store for $99.99 (shipping extra).  Seagate gives away its branded version of Acronis True image for free.  It is not that hard to use.   I believe the L755 has a 500 GB 5400 rpm hard disc drive, so this Seagate may make the laptop run faster under some conditions.   Creating an image of the laptop HDD onto this 2nd HDD mounted in the enclosure may take hours, but consider the only other alternative, below:
Anyone who thinks that solution is not feasible can just wait until their one and only hard disc drive fails or develops a software problem.    Without usable recovery discs, the machine must be dropped off or mailed to a service center.  Compare the waiting and the expense to have someone else solve that kind of problem with the effort and expense of preventing it.   If you don't mind being without your computer for a few days or weeks, go for the simple way.
By the way, even the best home-burned optical discs are prone to develop unexpected failures after they are created.  I've never had a factory pressed optical disc properly stored develop a late failure.  If these work out of the box, they work a couple of years later.   The technologies behind a home-burned disc and a factory-pressed disc are different.
Getting back to my original point, should your 1st HDD fail, and should you have a 2nd HDD with the cloned image of the 1st HDD, your recovery takes as long as it takes to remove HDD #1, installed HDD #2, and reboot your laptop, involving about 5 minutes of your time and perhaps a small screwdriver.  You can test whether or not your cloned backup works the same way, by installing HDD #2 and seeing if it works.   If you only have a single HDD, there is no good way to test your recovery media, since they overwrite your original HDD.

  • DVD recovery disc creator error

    Hiya,
I have a toshiba L300 series laptop running vista, which basically just crashes as soon as I load it up as soon as I try to do anything in normal mode (it runs perfectly in safe mode). I'd like to reboot my system obviously!
Basically when I try to run the recovery disc creator, just over half way through creating the first disc I get the error message:
'Failed to read the following file.
    F:\06491XSP.swm
    (error code:020150-20-00000000)'
Any help would be much appreciated,
    thanks,
    Olie

    Hi!
Firmware updates you can get on the Toshiba website but for your Satellite A300 with Mat****a drive I didnt find one.
Have you tried DVDs from different manufactures? I use always Verbatim disks and never had problems with it.
    Check this!
    Bye

  • Cannot use created recovery discs for Satellite A350-134

Emm I really hope you can help me.
The Notebook said that you have to create the Recovery Disk by yourself and thats what I did ( on 2 Cds)
So i wanted to reinstall my Notebook and put in the first cd and booted from CD. So i came into the Menu.
Then after a while it asked me to put in the second CD and I did it. Then it said there was a error copying the last 2 files needed.
So now i cant create the Recovery Disk again because I already started the reinstalling. now i have a few questions
What can i do generally ? Because I really dont want to buy for 35 euros a new Recovery Disk :S
I thank everyone who helps me :D

If you want to have factory settings you must install recovery image from recovery disc.
If your discs dont work you must use original Toshiba recovery disc.
My opinion is that you should install Win7 32bit on this machine. I do it on friends A350 and it runs perfectly.
