Cannot stream Spotify through Apple TV

Hello,
I cannot seem to be able to stream Spotify via Apple TV from my iMac.  I have tried selecting Apple TV speakers and also mirroring but there is no sound.  When I mirror the screen works fine mirroring only TV set, but there is no sound coming out.  Am I missing something in speaker set up ro something?  Have rebooted, restarted, no joy.  Please help.

ATV 2, latest update, latest Mavericks, all apps properly updated, 27"inch iMac latest generation.

only with spottily or all audio absent when you mirror?
when asking putting in very specific info such as stating the app can be confusing if the issue is general
personally my first step would be the disconnect the router for 30sec

  • Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV?

Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV? I use Keynote and Apple TV to stream my Keynote presentations at work and the Picture does not look great and does not put the presetation in widscreen mode. Would the Apple Digital Av adapter fix that?

The size on the screen should remain, but the quality should be better.

  • Streaming photos through Apple TV2

Hi,I am able to get audio from Macbook through Apple TV but not photos. Whilst audio will go through and play, the ATV2 will not recognise photo or audio library even though both Macbook and AppleTV are addressed alike. I have selected photo albums and all appears ok -- any ideas??s .

All used to work well but not I cannot see any photos from iphoto on my Apple tv 2.  I have home sharing on in both devices and as well I have selected "photos to share" in my imac itunes; interestingly enough is only iphotos that would not show; if i select "aperture" as the source then those will appear.  Also of interest is that I can stream from itunes on my imac, music and videos but not photos!
I have restored my apple tv2 to try and solve the problem but it sound like maybe iphoto is the problem?

  • Streaming videos through apple tv

Since the upgrade to iOs8 I cannot stream videos to my tv through appletv. If they work, it crashes a few seconds into it.
Also, the little icon on the bottom right corner of the video where I would choose which device to play the video on (phone, and other apple tvs), is gone. Do we have to go to settings and enable air play every single time?
    I want that icon back.

I am having the same problem.  Since the IOS8 Upgrade,I have been unable to stream videos without it crashing every few minutes.  Nothing else has changed. Same router, same devices all with the same wiFi connection.  Most of the time when it crashes and I finally get it to start again, the video always starts from the beginning again, very annoying.  Before the upgrade.... no problems at all.   I also checked out the link to resolving issues with airplay etc.  and nothing there has solved this problem.   I hope Apple will address this problem and come up with a fix.  I love my Apple products, but love them even more when everything works properly

  • How to eliminate subtitles when streaming Netflix through Apple TV?

When streaming movies from Netflix through Apple TV, sub-titles appeared and we canot find a menu or symbol to click to eliminate the sub titles.  They carry over to our next item.  How can I eliminate the sub titles. (This is only a problem with Apple TV.  Able to eliminate them on computer or I Pad.

Push and hold the menu button while the content is playing.  It will bring up a menu for captioning if the content has an option to chang it.

  • Streaming netflix through apple tv using airpot extreme.

I am having trouble streaming netflix through my apple tv using airport extreme router.  How can I fix this problem?

    What kind of problems?
Accessing Netflix from AppleTV or Airplaying Mirroring via iPad (which would be pointless as it's available on AppleTV direct even if it worked)?
Does other stuff like movie rentals, iTunes previews work ok?

  • Can I stream Spotify through my iPad speakers and a Bluetooth speaker ( Amazon Echo) at the same time?

I Liste to Spotify through my iPad via an Amazon echo via Bluetooth. I'd like to be able to hear the music through my iPad speaker as well if I carry it to another room. Is this possible?
    thanks

bluetooth only support bluetooth keyboards on the appletv
    Wireless
    Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n)
Bluetooth support for Apple Wireless Keyboard (requires Apple TV software version 5.2 or later)
    http://www.apple.com/appletv/specs/
if you can find a device which take in optical audio from the Apple TV and make it bluetooth to the bluetooth speaker then suppose it would work
but since it would need to be configured it would need controls or a webserver like a router has so very expensive

  • How to stream music through Apple TV?

Just learning the uses of Apple TV. So I know it mirrors devices & can turn tv into a huge monitor, but what else can it do? How to play music through it, since it's not connected to home stereo?

The Apple TV will not act as a computer in any way.
It connects via wifi to your home network.
Home sharing allows it to show your iPhoto pictures, iTunes content, Apple radio and more through the TV
You can play your Netflix or Hulu membership with Apple TV Apps.
Movies or TV shows purchased or rented can be shown with Apple TV
Many people use a sound bar or are connected to a home theater which improves music quality.
I prefer my Roku to the Apple TV because it has more Apps (Amazon among others)
If you have a Windows PC, rather than a Mac, you should consider Roku not Apple TV

  • Cannot send fax through Apple modem

In Tiger I regularly sent out faxes through my external Apple modem. However, after upgrading to Leopard, I can no longer send out faxes. Instead I get a "Preparing to send the fax document" message, but it never sends it out.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a known bug in Leopard?

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by "/var/log/cups/error_log". I typed it into Spotlight, but nothing came up.

  • Streaming Netflix through Apple TV

My question is simple: will I be able to stream Netflix 'Watch Instantly' films thorough an Apple TV, to watch on my big screen?

In the future, I wish there would be a standard streaming system which any piece of hardware could connect to. I have Netflix and use a Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player to stream Netflix to my HDTV. I unplugged my AppleTV as Netflix subscription-based service offers much more in terms of price to content ratio. For $8.99/mo I get unlimited streaming over over 12,000 titles.
For Music, I think people would like to own the material, but for most people, owning movies isn't as important. A song is 3 minutes, a movie 2 hours. How many times will you watch a movie vs listening to a song? I feel Subscription-based services are the future, and Apple should get on the wagon soon. I'd be paying Apple rather than Netflix if they offered it to me.

  • Streaming ESPN3 broadcast through Apple TV

I can view some college sports that are not part of my cable package on ESPN3 via the internet on my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to stream that through Apple TV to my 55"?

at it stands right now, no.

  • TS2972 I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?

I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?
I have a mac and wireless internet.

Because you've got music and movies streaming to your Apple TV, I know you've authorized Home Sharing under the file menu of iTunes.  But under that same iTunes file menu you must also go to the "Home Sharing" pull-down and select "Choose Photos to Share With Apple TV". You can select All photos, or just specific albums. Maybe worth saying again that this is done from iTunes and not iPhoto.
If you've already done this and still no photos on AppleTV, check to see that your photo file names (previously imported into iPhoto) have valid suffixes (such as photo.jpg).  Without that valid suffix, iPhoto on your Mac will show the photo just fine (courtesy of the hidden Type Code embedded in the photo file), but AppleTV will not.
Good luck and let me know if either of these worked.

  • I have an Ipod Touch (model MC011LL).  Is it capable of streaming video to my TV through Apple TV?

Ipod touch model MC011LL - Apple TV.  Will I be able to stream video from my Ipod Touch to my TV through Apple TV?  The source of the video is a Slingbox.

You'd need to check the Slingbox app write up.
Your iPod Touch can perfor Airplay streaming of pre-rendered compatible video but cannot perform Airplay mirroring of the Touch's screen (5th gen needed).

  • When trying to add music to a slide show from my PC to TV through Apple Tv the photos are fine but I get an error message that says the music cannot be downloaded.

When trying to add music to a slide show from my PC to TV through Apple Tv the photos are fine but I get an error message that says the music cannot be downloaded.

Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive.  If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down.  You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes.  Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked.  You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library.  iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
    Shouldn't have any more problems...

  • Lightroom 4 purchased through Apple App store does NOT have a serial number - cannot upgrade to lightroom 6

I am trying to upgrade from Lightroom 4.4 to Lightroom 6 on a Mac running OS X (Lion).  I have purchased Lightroom 6 as an upgrade (as I am running Lightroom 4).  The Lightroom 6 installer continues to indicate that it cannot find a "qualifying product" and asks for a declaration of the Lightroom product installed and its serial number.  I am currently running Lightroom 4 purchased through the Apple App Store in 2013; according to all the information I can glean regarding this product... it does not have a serial number (if it was purchased through the Apple App Store).  Does anyone have an idea on how to supply a valid serial number for the Lightroom 6 installer?
    iMac running OS X 10.9.5
Adobe Lightroom 4.4 (purchased in 2013 through Apple App Store)
Adobe Lightroom 6 (purchased online as an upgrade from Adobe Lightroom 4.X)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

As I said in the post, a serial number was not necessary to install it; the Apple downloadable version doesn't seem to be serialized.  I have not uninstalled Lightroom 4; it is still running, but apparently in its present form it doesn't provide a serial number for the Lightroom 6 upgrade to use.
