Cannot submit AIR app to Intel Atom Developer Challenge

I believe Aug 14 is the first day we can submit AIR application to Intel Atom Developer Challenge, but it appears that we are still unable to submit the AIR application to Intel Atom Developer Challenge today.

We looked into the info.plist file which you had shared but there appears to be no issue with the same.
If possible, could you please PM the packaged IPA file, all 3 ANEs which you have used in your project to help us investigate the issue further?

AIR apps using Stratus - protecting developer key

How do we deploy an AIR app that uses Stratus and protect our developer key, since AIR is not encrypted?

Except that the "somehow" is really not going to happen, because the code can be decompiled, and Adobe has not provided any way to keep some protected data on the client side OR even uniquely identify a particular instance of an AIR app. Unless I am wrong and someone can explain how...

Cannot install AIR app in an existing folder

Hi to all, I'm trying to create a setup for my AIR application. I have an NSIS script that install all the files that the AIR app needs in the targer folder. The AIR app is copied in a temp dir and then is lauched for installation but the installer said that it cannot install the application because the target folder is existing? What can I do to remove this check?

Cannot install air apps

Hi,
I always get the following message tryingt to install an air
file on my mac.
The application could not be installed because the AIR file
is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application
author.
The same air file installs fine on xp or vista. This behavior
started after the update to air 1.0.1.

Cannot install LCCS Navigator AIR app - "Sorry, an error has occurred"

I am unable to install the LCCS "SDK Navigator Application" from the LCCS Developer portal. When I try to run the AIR installer, I get the following error message:
Sorry, an error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been misconfigured. Please contact the application author for assistance.
/Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework/Versions/Current/Resources/Info.plist shows my AIR "CFBundleVersion" is "2.6.0.19140".

I did try to install LCCS Navigator AIR app on the version of AIR runtime you specified, and did not hit any issues.
Can you give us more details such as OS version, are you updating or installing the app. Also can you try a clean install too.

I am working on Adobe AIR.
And now I have 3 options to develop AIR applications 1)Flex
2) Flash 3) HTML+javascript.
But can you please explain me when do I exactly use Flex Or
HTML+JS Or Flash.
One of the reason I know is Flex used for Rich UI
applications
Is there any list of requirements for which one of the 3
option is most suitable to use.

servers are "foreign" to your AIR application. An AIR app does get
downloaded from a server, most of the time, but it doesn't maintain

"Call to method "setTextFormat" cannot be defined" in Air App (help needed)

I'm following a tutorial to begin with ActionScript 3 and Adobe Flash. I'm willing to create an Air app, but I stumbled upon an issue. The tutorial is for Flash Player, so I wonder if it also work for Air apps (sorry, I don't quite grasp the differences yet).
So here is a screenshot of the issue :
The error reads : Call to method "setTextFormat" cannot be defined, via reference of type static fl.controls:TextArea
(sorry if it's badly translated :/)
What I have below is a TextArea (taken from the User Interface Components) and a button (same). I noted their instance name that you can find back in the AS block.
So since it's the exact same code as in the tutorial (in which it work), why do I get this error ? I tried lot of things to get rid of it, but I'm out of options now, so I ask you for help.

Thank you very much for you answer Ned. It's clearer now. I just would like to create the textField WYSIWYGly, but I can't find it inside the component Library. Only TextArea's and TextInput's are there. Do you have any idea where I could find this component to add it visually to my project ? Or must I create it with AS?

Cannot submit app update - "Error The submission can only contain one appx or one appxbundle."

I'm trying to submit my app update to the store and I get the following error:

The submission can only contain one appx or one appxbundle.
So I thought I should maybe utilize the "Delete" option to allow me to submit an updated appx or appxbundle (since these are the only file types that App Studio allows us to build). However, when I do, I get the
following message:
Can't delete this package
You must have at least one 8.1 package in your submission.
... So I'm basically stuck. Can't delete to upload a new one. Can't upload a new one because there's one already there. It would be nice if you could automatically sunset the old appx/appxbundle package in favor of the new
one.
Update: Solved! Solution below.

Since this is still an issue, shouldn't it be escalated for a fix so that the page works on any modern browser?
I see two independent problems here:
- Hitting Delete should work, not bash the user with a "You must have at least one 8.1 package in your submission." message (i.e. allow the developer to delete and then add a new file, if so desired). After all, when making the initial submission
we are in the same situation (no file yet), so it can't be that bad, as long as this is checked for at a later stage.
- Show that Replace button which seems to be hiding! If it is a Silverlight issue, why require Silverlight in the first place?
P.S.: I am experiencing this with IE (no Replace button, Windows 8.1 x64 and latest updates).

The air app cannot detect the new added camera

i made a desktop air-app. the problem is when i unpluged my usb camera and start the air app . the app detect the existed cameras with Camera.names.length = 2; and then i pluged another usb camera and use the Camera.names.length to detect the new camera, but the result is still 2 , not the 2 existed camera with the new added one which the total is 3. then i close the air-app and start it again ,this time the camera.names.length is 3. why ? the air-app just cannot detect the new added camera? the only way the air-app can detect the new added camera is restart the app?

Air ow flash player for that matter won't detect camera added at runtime. It will detect if you remove the camera while you were capturing images from the camera. You can try to scan for camera suing a timer and see if it detects it then.
There is also a not so documented flash.media.scanHardware() method, which should force a hardware scan. I did not used it yet so can't vouch for it.

Do I have to enroll in the developer program to submit ios apps to app store?

Yes you do. It is only $99.00 USD. You get a lot of milage out of your money with the Apple Developer Program. You have to agree to allow Apple to take 30% of your sales. That is a little when you consider that you are using Apple's advertising power and name to push your applications! They also will answer two code level questions for you. I hope that helps.

Cannot connect to App Store with my new iPad Air

REcently purchased iPad Air. Activated & tried right away to find apps. Tapped on App Store icon & received "Cannot connect to App Store" no reason given.

I had this issue too, the suggestions were to set the time to automatically, to reboot the device, to reset the wifi router - nothing helped. What I did is go to 'settings' >> App Store and iTunes >> press on the Apple ID, choose logout and renter your password. NOW IT WORKS!!!!! (found from another thread: iPad Air 2 on iOS 8.1.1 cannot connect to App Store ) Cheers.

Adobe air apps cannot be installed

Hi,
I have trouble with my PC to install any kind of adobe air app. When I start to install a Adobe air app, I get the UAC request and I confirm it but then the Adobe Air Application Installer.exe *32 is hanging and doing nothing.
When I repeat the process another Adobe Air Application Installer.exe *32 instance is started.
Here is my equipment and what I tried:
Equipment:
Windows 7 professional SP1 64 -Bit
- Reinstalling Adobe air with Revo Uninstaller(cleaning registry) and installing it new with Admin rights.
- Installing Adobe air in Windows XP Sp3 mode
- Multiple apps were tried and when I start them with the SDK, they are working fine.
- No information are available in the windows eventlogs
Any idea how to solve it or any possibility to start a debug tool to get more information?

Sadly the Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It tool does not work, adobe air is still hanging during the app installation.
This is what I have done:
1. Uninstall Adobe air with the Microsoft Tool
2. Install Adobe air new
3. Try to install the app SmartClient.air -> Did not work
4. Try to install the app DesktopiPhone.air -> Did not work
Now I have 4 Adobe air instance in the task manager(see screenshot)

Flash AIR app cannot load child swfs on publish to device

I have been struggling with this problem for WEEKS now and can't solve it. I have an flash AIR app (creative cloud, AIR 3.8) which is very simple: all it does is load external SWF movies on the click of a start button. It works FINE in test/PC but when I publish to device, the external swfs do not load.
Here is the code on the main timeline that calls the external swfs:

I am calling about 30 different movies on 30 different frames, so that's why I am using tags like "proLoader_01" so I don't duplicate them. All the external swfs are of course listed in the included files too.
