Cannot Syn my 3gs Iphone with IOS 4.3.5 and Itunes 10.5
I have a iphone 3gs running IOS 4.3.5. I upgraded to ITunes 10.5. When I connect my Iphone to my laptop, the Itunes is not connected automatically. I need to manually run Itunes. I am also unable to sync my Iphone now.

The update to iOS 5.0 or greater is an erase/restore deal, so make sure ALL of your content is on your computer BEFORE you begin.
iOS 6.1.3 will be installed on your phone.

If you've noticed issues after updating to iOS 7.0.2, you may want to first update to iOS 7.0.3 which was recently released.

After updating my iphone 4 to ios 4.3.4 and itunes to 10.4 syncing doesn't work any longer.
While syncing pictures I get a unknown error (-50) message and syncing stops.Okay, I have a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard in which I just updated iTunes. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. I updated my iPhone to 4.3.4 and the syncing is not working. I get an error that it cannot write to the iPhone then get an error regarding some of the photos. Here is what I have done -
I restored my iPhone
I removed all photos from the iPhone and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
I unplugged the external from my mini and then it did a sync just find - course I wasn't syncing anything to it!
I plugged back in the external via Firewire which is what it was before and I get the errors.
Prior to the latest iTunes update everything was fine but of course I hadn't updated the iPhone yet - so I don't know which update is now causing the problem although I'm thinking it's the iTunes update..
Any thoughts? Beyond frustrated at this point. -

I have just taken over my son's 3GS iPhone and updated it to iOS 4.2.1 which I am told is the latest version for this device.
I have tried to install apps I want from the iTunes store and in almost every case I am told I need iphone 5 or later.
Do I just throw a perfectly functional phone away?There are actually a lot of apps and games which are compatible with your older device which runs iOS 4.2.1. You just need a tool to separate them from the incompatible apps.

Yes. You will have to update to 10.6.X from 10.6.8 you can update directly to 10.8.2 if you like. You will need to contact apple to purchase an install disct for 10.6.X.

Are you sure you have a 3GS and not a 3G? The 3G cannot be updated to iOS5. What version are you on now?... Settings > General > About > Version

I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now I cannot retreive or send my e-mails. We have an Exchange server at work. I still receive the e-mails on all my devices just fine and I can see the subject headings & a small portion of the body of the e-mail, but when I open the e-mails there is no body and it reads, "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Very aggrevating and is not helping my business at ALL!! Same has happened with both iPads we own now.
Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.

If you have iPhone 3G, the latest and greatest is IOS 4.2.1.
If you have iPhone 3GS or later, you can only update to IOS 6.0.1.
For iPhone 5 and iPad mini, you can update to IOS 6.0.2. -

I have an IMac with 10.5.8 system and iTunes 10.6.3. I recently got an iphone 5 and ipad 3 with IOS 7. Now I cannot sync them with my itunes library. It refuses to recognise them and tells me to upgrade to iTunes 11.1. but I cannot and when i try to update my Imac OS it will not let me either saying I all software is upto date. I had to update to itunes 11 and I am just getting the option of iso 6 when I select the update. It takes forever for anything to happen so I have cancelled it. It is only possible to upgrade to the most current version of iOS which is 6.0.1 for the 3GS.
