Cannot Sync Apple TV get firewall error 3689_HELP

I'm having major syncing issues with my apple TV since the move to Leopard. Everything was fine in the world but now every time I launch iTunes my Apple TV is there in the devices list but every time I try to sync I get an error saying that the Apple TV is not responding firewall software must allow 3689.
Ok here's the killer, itunes is allowed incoming connection in my leopard firewall, I can see my Apple TV in the devices, (it's connected with Ethernet to my network), I can browse the items that have synced, but it stopped halfway through after a complete restart and now won't allow any syncing. I'm pulling my hair out here! Anybody who can help?
I've reset my machine, my airport extreme, my apple TV got the new version of iTunes today but nothing will allow it to sync

No other ideas yet. I found this morning the sync had not completed, but some items did get copied to the Apple TV. I shut down my computer and rebooted, then opened disk utility and ran a repair disk permissions, it does take longer since upgrading to Leopard, but it completed and repaired some permissions. I then restarted the computer and opened iTunes. Was able to start syncing again, it's still running and I can see items being added to Apple TV.
I'm running form a Power PC G5 Dual 2.3 GHZ.
Leopard upgrade was an erase and install with a migration of all data and applications from back up disk.
Before installing Apple Tv I had already upgraded to Leopard and iTunes 7.6, never tried Apple TV before, therefore I might be less frustrated than others for now.
Changing the Firewall settings to "set access for specific services and applications" and adding iTunes has taken care of the iTunes port 3689 error message and allowed syncing to proceed. However I have received a couple of pop ups asking to allow access to iTunes and Entourage and have had to answer Yes to continue operating, I'm sure I'll see more of these messages as I open other applications. Other than this reminding me too much of a Windows computer its workable for now.
IMO This is definitely a Leopard problem Apple needs to address soon, look forward to next upgrade.

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

La solución para los usuarios de Windows.. busca todas las canciones *.m4a que se han modificado en tu compu durante el día del incidente.. toma nota de los nombres de las canciones.
En itunes busca estas canciones y deselecciona las canciones.. (con suerte veras que las canciones están seleccionadas dos veces.. deselecciona todas las canciones que fueron modificadas en ese día. Al final asegurase que tienes seleccionado la opción de solo sincronizar las canciones que están seleccionadas en tu lista.) y trata de sincronizar con itunes..

I tried to use an external hard drive from my windows computer that was formatted in NTFS Windows format. Mac Pro sees that hard drive as "read only". Itunes works on existing media on the hard drive to play music or movies, but when you try to purchase from itunes store and download you get the above message. You need to move your library to a library that is formatted in exFAT format (which can be used both by "windows" and mac computers.

I have followed ALL instructions for Firefox Sync and keep getting "Unexpected Error" when I try to log in on desktop.

1) have refreshed Firefox - doesn't help
2) have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox - doesn't help
3) have updated ALL other machines to current version Firefox - they are syncing fine, doesn't help this machine

No. I cannot log into an account. I cannot create a new account. I cannot Sync anything. I get the same sequence of events on two different machines: 1) I enter my info and hit return, 2) the little circle spins like something is happening, 3) within 10-15 seconds a red bar appears that says "Working", and 4) within another 10-15 seconds the red bar reads "Unexpected Error."
This same sequence also happens on a BRAND NEW laptop I just brought home from work yesterday and installed Firefox for the first time.
Could this be something with my home network settings?
p.s. I am the question originator... somehow in the process of implementing previous suggestions my old profile was deleted

This HAS to be something with my network settings at home. I am now at the office where Sync is working just fine on my work desktop and the BRAND NEW work laptop where I was getting the error messages when I tried this at home.
Any suggestions on where to look?

When syncing iPod I get an error that says items can't be found

More specifically, the error message says "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because they could not be found." Then it gives a list of certain songs in my library that couldn't be synced. Anyone else get this error? Any known way to fix it?

I do not have the folder finder exclamation point of any other question mark or other finder ability. Now what? I was having an issue with my computer and my internal drive was so full i could not import more photos to edit them. I moved my catalogue and its contents to an external drive but the problem i was noticing is that it appears i have way more then one catalogue and lightroom instances spread across several drives, so i consolidated all these files into that external drive and now lightroom is unable to find its components to do crop or any changes to newly imported photos. I wanted to just wipe out LR and reinstall from my previous downloaded product but now i can't find my that install executable and i also cannot read my perpetual license, and even though i did register this product with Adobe it does not show it in my account. ARGH!!!

Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and select the iPod backjp and click on delete and try again.

- Reboot the computer

When I try to sync photos to i pad from my pc the photos are not synced and I get an error message "could not sync 113 photos see i tunes"

When I try to sync my photos from my pc (windows 7) I get an error message that could it could not sync 113 photos of 1170 or so and that I should see itunes. Many of the the photos that are synced are mixed intothe wrong albums. I have deleted the ipad cache numerous times; meticuliously reorganized my albums, tried to add albums both individually as well as sync all. I am beside myself.

You have to go to SMTP settings for your email account and enter a password there. Sended and receiving are two different activities managed by 2 differet servers, and each may require a separate user ID and password.

Then that means that the user that you are trying to reach has not setup and registered Messages on their iDevice. They have to set it up first before you can reach them. And you can only message with other iOS users, not with Android devices or other cell phones.

Hi, i have a ipod classic 120GB. Have had it for a while now. And this is the first time i have come across this syncing error message.
attempting to copy "connie" failed. An unknown error occured [-69]
I tried to restore it , but it won't allow me to do that either.
My daughter could sync hers, but i have tried a few times and get the same message. PLease help........

I can't sync music and get an error message when I plug in my iPod

I've had my iPod for a year or so, and mostly things have been fine. The battery-life was dying more quickly than usual, so I went to the Apple Store and got one of the salespeople to help me. They told me to Restore the iPod and see how it went from there. After a complete fiasco with that, I keep trying to plug in my iPod to update my library. However, when I plug it in, the iPod only flashes the charging button, and iTunes is unresponsive and sluggish for several minutes. Then a message pops up that says "The iPod 'iPod' cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found."
I have repeatedly gotten this message and really don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated......

You can also try out few things >
1) check if the ipod constantly appears in mycomputer section .
- if it does try changing the drive letter of the ipod and try to format the ipod drive(Right click format)
2) if its not comin up in mycomputer then.. there has to be problem with the USB drivers in your computer
