Cannot Sync/Apply Settings or Transfer Purchases with Restored 3GS 5.1.1

Two days ago I replaced my broken 3G with a 3GS. I restored the new phone successfully (Not from a back up of the old phone, fyi), but when I go to Sync/Apply my sync, the button is greyed in and unclickable. I only have the option to "Revert", but that does nothing anyways. I also noticed that it only gives me three choices when I right click over my phone name - none of which are "Transfer purchases". Those options also aren't available in the top menu of iTunes. The phone also makes iTunes significantly slower and freezed it up. My 3G does not do this when connected.
If I connect my old 3G to itunes, it still gives me the option to Sync/Transfer, etc. so I'm not sure what's gone wrong with the new phone.
Both phones are connected to the same Apple ID, I can download my previous apps, etc onto the new phone successfully. Everything else works completely, with the exception that iTunes won't sync it.
I've already gone to the apple store (they were horrible help), so I'm reching out to you guys. Let me know if you have any solutions - I've already tried restoring it/using a new computer and it has the same symptoms.

I just tried to Sync to a different laptop, and it works like any other product. Now begs the question, what's wrong with iTunes on the computer I normally sync from?? I'v already tried to re-install it, etc.

Using the latest version of iTunes and iOS5 on my iPhone. Backup of the iphone seems to work fine. My old PC died and I want to transfer my apps to my new PC. Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks back when I switched computers and migrated. Here's what worked on my iMac, so maybe it'll work on your iPad, too. Go to User(your home folder)/Music. Select/highlight your "Music" folder. Then do Command-I ("Get Info" from the File menu), click on the padlock icon in the lower right of the new window. Enter your user password. Click on your username just above the now-open padlock. Select "Read & Write" if it's on "Read Only," "Write Only," or "No Access." Now having your user account with "Read & Write" privileges (it may have been this way already; still do this next step), click on the gear on the bottom-center of that window. Click on "Apply to all enclosed items." When the pop-up says "Are you sure?" (or the equivalent), say "yes." This will grant access privileges to your user account for all the music files inside your music folder--all your iTunes stuff included). Then you should be good to go.

How do I get the songs from my iPod to my new computer if they wont all sync when I do "transfer purchases"

I am trying to sync the purchases from the old iPod onto my computer. I purchased all of the songs on it via wifi and do not have them backed up. I need them on my computer to place them onto my new iPod 4th generation. I also have recently created my own account seperate from my parents due to the fact that I am moving out soon. Is there a way to set a new iTunes up on my computer and how do I transfer my old songs on my old iPod to the new account? Thanks!

Connect the device to the computer, do not sync.
In iTunes select File > Transfer purchases.
This will transfer all content purchased via iTunes from the iPod to the computer.
If you have not done so already, you will also need to authorize this computer for your account.
Store > Authorize Computer.

I have a new laptop and have just downloaded itunes and want to add my music to it. It has only synced some of the music. Itunes prompted me for sync and erase or transfer purchase which i chose but it hasn't downloaded hardly any of my tunes.

Prior to Family Share we had devices sharing a common account for purchases
We setup Family share an switch the App Store account on some devices to those shared accounts
Now when we try to update existing apps it refuses stating that they were purchased with a different account
Well yes they were, but it is a shared account.
Do we really need to un-install all apps, loosing any data, then reinstall using the shared account ?
If so I think Family share is a non-starter.

How to turn your computer into a Virtual (Personal)Router.
Our hotel the Grand Oasis Cancun provided internet for only 36 hours and you could only use it on one device which comes to my next option as using your Laptop as a Personal Router to broadcast WiFi to any devices near your computer. Our room was on the Second level of the Pyramid at Grand Oasis and I was able to access it while at the VIP lounge below our room. Before our supposedly free internet service ended.
I attempted using the hotel next door since I was getting a good signal from the Omni Hotel. They offered complimentary 24hr internet access using your browser as a way to track your use. Once you find the signal of the Omni it will open your browser I used Google Chrome, after it opens you go threw a few simple steps and your ready.
I learned that after the 24 hours are up all you have to do is disconnect from their network, just run Ccleaner(free program) then find the Signal of the hotel and you will be given another 24 hours. What Ccleaner(<--download there) does is clears anything attached to your browser ie cookies temp files etc. it cleans your browser history giving you a way of not paying for the hotel fee of internet and giving you free WiFi. this is only if you are next to the Omni hotel :).
What you need to download to turn your computer into a hotspot need to say is this little easy to use program Virtual Router. Once it has download test at your home to make sure it works with you devices. This will work with Tablets, Phones and other computers that cant find the Omni WiFi signal. Your welcome. To use it, is simple. Open program>make a password>select WiFi and start VR.

Transfer purchases from iPhone 3gs error

My wife and I both have an iPhone 3gs. We've created separate users on our iMac to manage iPhones/iTunes. We both have admin privileges. It's worked brilliantly until today. I recently synced/updated to OS 5.1.1 (last week)...no problems on my end. My wife tried today, but unfortunately gets an error message at the end of the transfer purchases/syncing process: "Attempting to copy to disk "Macintosh HD" failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
Any ideas?

I too had this issue on my Vista 64 machine--I have since upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. The solution I found was to open TCP Port 3689 on the computer as well as the Multicast DNS for Bonjour: UDP 5353. You might need to reboot and should be all set after that. My Apple TV worked for almost a year without these settings. I suddenly started having these issues around a month ago. All is now well.

Cannot sync music without losing my purchases. Very frustrated. Is there a solution?

I would give apple a negative one-hundred out of five at this very moment. Ugh. Okay, so a while ago, I left my ipod in the possession of my friend while I was away, and she synced it to another itunes account. Let's call that account A. I got it back about four months ago, and synced it with a DIFFERENT account, erasing everything that was on it. Let's call that account B. Since then, I have made several music purchases that are currently on my ipod. Now, a couple weeks ago, my computer totally crashed and was unable to be repaired. We just got a new one and I re-installed itunes. Let's call that account C. I put a recording (mp3 file) in the new itunes (account C) and attempted to sync with my ipod so I would be able to listen to it. It then proceeded to tell my ipod cannot be synced to two accounts at once. Now, normally this wouldn't surprise me, but the name it listed that my ipod was CURRENTLY connected to was my FRIEND'S account (account A!!) What in the WORLD?? I got rid of that a long time ago! Not only that, but it will not let me keep my current purchases on my ipod- I have to erase them if I wanted to sync to account C. Oh heck no, I paid money for those! I mean, really? It will not let me put those files on itunes account C at all, nor will it let me transfer those files onto my computer so I can transfer them back to the ipod after I sync accounts. I understand it was probably set up this way to prevent illegal distribution, but didn't they consider people who's computers crash? Is there any way to keep my music without doing something illegal? I have googled solutions for this but they are all on outdated versions of itunes (so they will not work with mine) or the solution is illegal. I would much appreciate any solutions you guys have

Either the iPod freezes and crashes, along with iTunes freezing or my iPhone syncs, but I cannot play the music that is synced to the iPhone. I updated to the new version of iTunes a few days ago, and this is the first time syncing so I think there may be a problem with iTunes. I have tried to disconnect and sync both devices three times and I still get the same result.

I should also mention that all of my files on the iPod were erased and now I have nothing on there.

Cannot sync multiple iphones on 1 computer with multiple accounts

I have had no problems until recently. I have 2 iphones that I sync with two different users on 1 Windows 7 PC.
I was always able to sync the respective iPhone with the iTunes on each individual account without any problem. Now, it freezes up on 1 of the accounts, but works on the other.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. One sympton I noticed while troubleshooting is that it seems like iTunes is getting corrupted because even without syncing, if I select Edit/Preferences iTunes starts to hang.
. Here is the sequence of events after uninstalling / reinstalling the last time:
- After verifying the install, I made sure that on both user accounts, iTunes was operating normally. I did this by starting it up and playing a few songs and going to the Preferences, which it did quickly on both accounts
- On account 1, I synced iPhone 1 without any problems. Exited iTunes. Repeated a couple of times
- On account 2, verified that iTunes was working properly again
- Attached iPhone 2 on account 2 and it hung. Also gave me this error: "iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services"
- Now whenever I try and run iTunes on account 2, it plays songs but as soon as I try and access Preferences it hangs
- Running iTunes on account 1 and syncing account 1 is still no issue
This is very frustrating because I have not been able to sync iPhone 2 for a couple of weeks now.

Any help? If I unistall and reinstall iTunes, which ever account / phone I sync to first works, but the other account / phone will not work.
Is there anyone else out there who is successfully syncing 2 phones on 2 accounts on one computer? Why isn't this working anymore - it worked fine for over a year until now?

Cannot sync mail settings from macbook to iphone using itunes

hi. i am another new mac user. i have one problem with syncing my iphone through itunes. i can select contacts, calendar and bookmarks, BUT the mail options are shaded grey and not available to select.
i'm guessing that somehow i have selected that mail be synced with mobile me, but i don't want to do this!
can anyone please advise how i revert to syncing with itunes?
also, don't know if this is related, but my iphone doesn't seem to be backing up to my macbook when i try syncing or updating in itunes.

For the email account syncing issue, try restarting the iPhone and your Mac. You can restart the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 34 of the iPhone User Guide.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

Cannot get Motorola S9-HD to pair with iphone 3gs

I get the solid blue light to show that the S9 is in pairing mode.
I turn on Bluetooth on my iPhone 3GS.
The iPhone "sees" the Motorola S9 HD, but that's as far as it goes. The display shows "Not Paired" no matter how many times I try.
Thoughts? Hacks? Tricks?

Got on the phone with Apple tech support and cleared up the issue.

I cannot sync my CC Photoshop settings....

I cannot sync my settings my email address does not even show up under "manage sync settings". My email DOES show up under Help>sign out. So it knows I am signed in on my account but does not allow me to sync at all.

This is what it shows when I try to sync. However - I have the CC app open and logged in, as well as logged in on Adobes website. Even under the Help tab in Photoshop it shows the option to Sign out with my email address that I use CC for (implying I am logged in). But for some reason I still cannot get the option to sync my settings. I just synced them a few days ago and it is not even showing that I did that as seen in the screenshot.

New iTunes: cannot sync calendar with iPhone

I just installed the new itunes and cannot sync my lokal and exchange calender with my iphone and ipad. No problems with the icloud calendars. I must have a solution for my exchange business calender!

Try resetting the sync history. iTunes > Edit menu > Preferences > Devices tab, click the button. Then try syncing again.
