Cannot sync calendar with iPad

Since I have upgraded iTunes to 10.1 I cannot sync my MS Outlook calendar with the iPad's calendar.
I keep receiving an error message stating: "_*iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPad...because the sync server failed to sync the iPad*_"
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

  • Cannot sync Calendar with iphone 3g/itunes

Not sure what happened but I cannot sync calendar with itunes.
Everything else works fine with syncing with Outlook 2007 through iTunes.
What specifically happens is everything will sync and when it gets to "syncing with calendar" the syncing process hangs, never completes.
    Any help?

Try resetting the sync history. iTunes > Edit menu > Preferences > Devices tab, click the button. Then try syncing again.

  • Imac still has mobileme, i don't get icloud, can't sync calendar with ipad

    Help!
I can't sync my ipad calendar with my imac...imac just says it can't connect...i thought i had set everything up in the beginning...

If your profile is correct, you don't have iCloud. iCloud only comes with OS X 10.7.2 or better.

  • Icloud not syncing calendar with ipad

My 2 iphones have synced the calendars to icloud but my ipad 2 does not get the calendars from icloud to it.  How do I do this???

I also had this problem, with syncing calendar events from my iPhone to my Mac.  If I added an event on the iPhone itself, the event never showed up on either of my Mac's iCals.  The reminders did not sync in that direction either.  The only way to get an event to show up everywhere was to sit there and copy it off of my iPhone into my Mac when I'm sitting at the Mac.  I did not realize this until I missed an appointment.
But I figured out how to fix it in my situation - looks like just another aspect of a sloppy rollout of iCloud.  Once you have switched to iCloud, the iPhone now has a strictly local calendar, called "Calendar" by default.  It also has another calendar with the same name "Calendar," except that one is an iCloud calendar that syncs, and is the same as your old MobileMe default Calendar.  You will see this if you tap the "Calendars" button at the top of your iPhone's iCal display, which allows you to change which calendars are viewable.
But when you enter an event in iPhone, post-iCloud, the pulldown to select which calendar will contain the event defaults to the non-syncing "Calendar," because Apple has listed the local duplicate Calendar first in the hierarchy.  This looked absolutely identical in the pulldown to my regular fully-functional Calendar except for a very slight difference in the color of the bubble, so I did not notice, and I can't imagine most people would notice that they're now entering all their events in an impostor "Calendar" which is basically non-functional. (What possible use is a calendar that doesn't sync to anything?)  I finally noticed this when I was preparing to post the issue, and I noticed that my other two calendars (named "Diary" and "Exercise") had apparently been syncing both ways just fine.  When I decided to post a new event to all three of my calendars at once, to do the test, that's when I noticed the imposter "Calendar" was overriding my Calendar of the same name.  The reason events had been syncing when I entered them into the Mac, but not vice-versa, was that iCloud did not create a similar local-only Calendar in the Mac iCal app.
So to avoid having to pull down and choose the real Calendar each time I enter an event, I made the fake Calendar unviewable. (you do this in the Calendars button of iCal, not in Settings.)  It is remarkably stupid to cause a rollout to change everyone's default calendar from syncing to local, without them having a ghost of a clue.  Even if there might be some use for such a silly-seeming feature, it should be enabled only by conscious choice and not through a rollout.
Hope this works for you too.  I assume the steps would be the same for an iPad.

  • Cannot sync calendar with outlook 2007

After a recent IOS upgrade to my iPhone 4, I started getting the following message when trying to sync -
"iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "Jeff's iPhone" because the sync server failed to sync the phone."
Everything else syncs just fine (pics, bookmarks, e-mail accounts, etc.), but not the calendar.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

try going back into the mail account settings - then turn off the calendar and then back on, then power off the ipad then power back on.   then do a check and see if that helped.

  • Cannot sync Calendar with Outlook

I used to be able to do this up until a few days ago. Not sure what changed (nothing that I am aware of but it must be something!)
I am using BBDM v5.0 with Outlook 2003 on XP Pro/SP3.  The BBDM recognises my BB and can sync the contacts, memopad, tasks with Outlook - everything except the calendar.  It even syncs an add-in just fine.  The BBDM says "one moment please..." and then beeps and finishes without doing anything.  I reset the syncrhonization configuration, I deleted the intellisync folder as suggested in some other threads - nothing changed.  The log viewer is grayed out so I am guessing there are no logs to look at.
The only thing I can see is that the CICAL lists my personal email account whereas Outlook is on my work laptop and has my work email account which is different - but it's always been that way as far as I know.
Can anybody suggest anything?  Re-install DM 5.0?
    Thanks!

Ok, after hours of reading various messages and not being willing to do a complete wipe of my phone as some people suggested, I finally was able to get my calendar back using one of the EASIEST suggestions.
When plugged in via USB, go into your iphone sync settings and REMOVE the checkmark from calendar.  SYNC.  It will ask you if you want to remove all previously SYNC'd items, (just the items from Outlook you want to have updated anyways so click YES).  After it SYNC'd, RE-check the Calendar and re-sync.
WORKED LIKE GOLD!  Hope it works for you too!

Well I have to see that as progress anyway as frustrating and and as ticked off as you understandably are. BTW - the acronym has been edited - but it would not have offended me I'm sure.
Is there any chance that you may have installed third party plug ins in iTunes - in your user account.? Did you get this far in that support article above?

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

  • HT204053 cannot sync calendar on my new ipad mini. my mac and macbook use a .me account for iCloud. How can I change this?

I cannot sync calendar on new ipad mini. My mac desktop and mac book have an old .me icloud account name. Cannot change that so how do I sync?

If you had a passcode set on your iPad your data should be safe.  The thief would have to force it into recovery mode and restore it in order to use it, which would completely erase it.
This shouldn't keep your daughter's device from accessing the iCloud account however.  If you can no longer sign into the account on iCloud.com from your computer, contact Apple support for assistance.

  • Ipad no longer syncs calendar with iphone 6

My iPad was working fine a few days  ago in syncing calendars with my new iPhone 6; however, I just noticed that when I receive invites [ics] they appear on my iPhone but do not go into the cloud to appear on the iPad.  I tested putting something on my calendar and that appeared on both devices; however, getting a test email from another person, it didn't show.  I signed out/in back into icloud on the iPad and still not syncing.  I feel the sync is broken and I don't know how to get it back. Can someone give me guidance on what to do?  I sync wirelessly on both devices and have also synced the with the cable.  NOTHING.  I use a PC.

  • TS2481 How do I sync google calendar with Ipad 2 thru the cloud. Used to work, but now I've lost it. Maybe a setting?

What setting do I use on my Ipad 2 and Iphone 3GS to enable google calendar to sync thru Icloud between my 2 devices? Thank you!

    Hey JonC84
Thanks for the question. You can definitely sync your new iPod touch with the local calendar on your computer (you won't need to setup an account like iCloud). The following article may help you achieve this:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, and Notes
You can sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and notes with other applications on your computer. This allows you keep all your information in sync across multiple computers and iOS devices. The settings for these items are all in the Info tab for your iOS device in iTunes. With your iOS device connected to the computer, select your iOS device. Then click the Info tab.
    Calendars
To sync calendars with your computer, choose "Sync Calendars" or "Sync iCal Calendars."
    - When syncing calendars, you can sync all calendars or sync specific calendars.
    - You can limit the data that is synced to only events that have occurred in the last 30 days. The option can be changed to any number of days.
For additional information, see this article (while the article refers to iTunes 11, most steps are applicable for you):

  • HT1386 I sync all songs, photos and videos between my computer and iPod classic with no problems, but when I get to sync info I get this message: "iTunes cannot sync Calendar and contacts to iPod. Try logging out of Windows adn then logging back in".

I sync all songs, photos and videos between my computer and iPod classic with no problems, but when I get to sync info I get this message: "iTunes cannot sync Calendar and contacts to iPod. Try logging out of Windows adn then logging back in".  Could you please help?

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.
