Cannot sync i5 to 10.6.3

Hi all, cannot get i5 to sync with macbook pro 1.1 running snow leopard it says i need itunes 10.7 but i cannot get it as the itunes 11 needs os 10.8 can you help

iTunes 10.7 is the bare minimum needed to support iOS 6.x. According to this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 it needs 10.6.8. You won't get iCloud support though.
OTOH, iTunes 11.0.2 is running quite happily on my 10.7.5 MBP. ML is not necessary at all.

Iphone 5S is no longer recognized in ITunes so it cannot sync. I am not seeing the driver listed and therefore the recommendation to repair the driver does not work for me. Have rebooted, deleted Itunes and reuploaded many many times. I have read and tried all the "Apple" fixes listed. I use Kasperasky Anti-Virus and wondered if that could be blocking the driver needed. I have added the Apple programs to Kaspersky's exclusion list but that did not work. Seems ridiculous to spend any more money to download songs in ITunes if I can never sync my Iphone 5S to get them on my phone. Apple techs, please help - just recommending the standard fixes I keep reading has not helped at all. Anyone else have a different suggestion? Thanking you in advance as I've spent so many hours on trying to find a fix.

Thank you for your suggestions but I still have the problem. The Iphone 5S is not recognized and I have deleted Kaspersky off my computer (and still have not put it back on yet). I still do not see the Apple Mobile Service USB Driver listed. I had done this process previously (several times) but went through it all again in your order just in case I missed something. I am wondering if there is a way to go back to the previous version of ITunes in case it was the ITunes update causing me the problems. I do not think I can blame it on Kaspersky since it is not on my computer now and I have the same problem.
I also notice that the Iphone is not listed in my devices in Windows 7 - not sure if it was before or is suppose to be for sure - but just noting it is not. I tried the option to add devices but Windows does not find the Iphone 5S. Just thought I would add that information in case that should lead to a solution. Again thanks for your time - would appreciate any other suggestions. I don't think you can use Apple Support without paying money so would like to find help from someone else having the problems. I think it is odd so many people are having problems with their phone being recognized or sometimes just it syncing - and various steps have helped others (like uninstalling and re-installing). Cannot sync voice memos after reinstalling Snow Leopard

Hello - I cannot sync to my same ipod - my computer is treating it like a foreigner. I've already accepted the fact that I had to erase my photos, music, videos. I've finally decided to restore my ipod to factory settings, but I can't do that until I backup my voice memos!
I absolutely refuse to let go of those, I have almost 9 months worth of voice memos. iTunes will not sync them, regardless of whether I checked the "Sync voice memos" in the Music section of the sync section of iTunes. What should I do?

I'm pretty sure that if the iTunes is refusing to sync the files, the files are not in the backup. The backup process goes too quickly for that to be so.

And backing them up by email is not an option, since some of the files are over 30 minutes long.

Tried downloading itunes version 11.4 and received an error code 2324. Now itunes will not work at all and I cannot sync my phone, ipad or ipod. How should I proceed?

I have tried several times to load version 11.4 and keep getting an error code2324, now I cannot sync any of my apple products. I set my machine to a previous recover date, now iTunes will not work at all. I get a message stating I do not have the administrator rights to download. Any thoughts on this issue?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I ended up smashing my phone and could update all other stuff on restore but cant sync any music. It is all grey at the top of the screen. Ive re installed itunes and cleared all phone data. Now when i bought a song on this computer from the apple store, i have just been sent an email that says Your Apple ID, was just used to purchase (a song ) by a computer that had not been previously associated with that apple id. I'm having a similar problem. I had previously (over a year ago) purchased 2 episodes of Law & Order. Then about 2 months ago, I purchased the 3rd season of Sons of Anarchy. When I downloaded these episodes to my iPad, about a dozen full seasons of various shows popped up, too. No money was removed from my iTunes account & theses particular shows aren't in my iTunes library on my desktop. I've tried every which way to delete them from my ipad, but can't. I went to the Apple store & they suggested I contact expresslane.apple.com for help. I submitted my problem, via email Friday, as they asked, but have not received any response. Any suggestions on how to get rid of these "phantoms?".

I recently got an IPhone 6+ a few weeks ago. The 128 GB version. So far, I've loved it. I love the screen size, I love being able to put as much music and movies on it as I can. At least theoretically.
For whatever reason, I cannot sync and put music and movies on my phone. No matter what I do, what settings I change, or how many times I Google it, I keep getting a message that says
"1(Or just) Items failed to sync. Please see Itunes for more information"
Every time I try to sync my phone, I get this message. I have a library of 1300 songs and entire seasons of shows that play just fine through Itunes but for whatever reason will not sync to my phone. It doesn't matter if the songs were ripped or bought from Itunes, I cannot get more than a handful of songs onto my phone anymore.
Has anyone had this problem recently? Most Google searches only found information from 2011-12. And again, every "fix" I've found from Googling has not fixed this problem.
What's the point in a 128 GB Iphone if I can't put anything on it?

Ok....so I have found a work around....if not a complete solution.
I'm not sure if deleting your music, uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling and adding your music back will actually affect it but I tried it again. Started from scratch.
I checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos"
Then I moved my music to phone via drag and drop, usually just boxing a row of albums at a time.
I went back into my Iphone and began the sync. The message popped up, "1 Item could not be synced" and the sync stopped. At that point, I just clicked sync again and it started back up again. It took a few go's but eventually I got all my music on my phone.
Ironically enough, the only songs that wouldn't sync were songs that I had actually purchased from Itunes....kinda odd

I downgraded iTunes to 10.5.2 and now my iPad cannot sync

I downdated my iTunes from 10.7 to 10.5.2 in an attempt to solve the homesharing problem with my ATV2.
I had to uninstall iTunes to do this, and during the re-install I was told that iTunes Library.itl was created by a later version, so I hid it.
Now iTunes has installed ok but I cannot sync my iPad because iTunes says my iPad is registered to a different computer.
How do I overcome this ? I presume it must be possible to start-over after a total system failure.

My colleagues and I have a similar type issue after upgrading from 10.9.1 to 10.9.2.
We all use mid-2011 Macbook Pro's and also use a sapphiretech Vid-2x displayport to dual DVI adapter. This adapter essentially bonds two additional external displays into one large monitor. i.e. two 24-inch displays now become "one" supporting 3840x1080 resolution. The only caveat to using this adapter is that both monitors need to be of the same model. There are no drivers needed to use this hardware adapter.
We don't have displayports per se, rather we use the thunderbolt port. The Vid-2x adapters have worked fine for us from 10.7 - 10.9.1.
Since some of us upgraded to 10.9.2 we've all experienced the same issue in that the Mac no longer recognizes the Vid-2x as being capable of the proper 3840x1080 resolution we require. The best we can get is 3200x1200. Another interesting note is that there are at least three different model pairs of monitors being used by us (Samsung, Asus, Dell).

I have recently had to reimage my computer and installed a new hard drive - I had apple deauthorize all of my computers however now that I have installed Itunes everytime I hook up any of my "I" products it says that it cannot sync them because they are already attached to another Itunes LIbrary - The library was the one that was on my computer which had the Hard Drive crash so it does not exist anymore- Any thought on what I need to do? It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just this occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

I installed the latest itunes 10.6.1. I get the error -42404 message saying a component was not installed anf I cannot sync my itouch. The last version worked fine...........any suggestions?

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall as per the following documents?

I just updated my iphone 5s to IOS 8.1.3 and I cannot sync (error -54) and my "other" takes up 6.69gb of my space

I just updated my phone to IOS 8.1.3 and I'm having troubles.
None of my music is syncing as well as anything else I try to sync. As for the bar at the bottom of the iphone summary screen there is no Music photos, app or anything its just a big yellow "other" bar even though I have photos and apps on my phone..

I have the 5s and am still using iOS 8.1.3 and cannot sync anything! It's driving me crazy. My iPad won't sync either which made me think it was my wifi but that is not the issue.
Is anyone able to troubleshoot this problem? I've tried to look on here for days now. Thought possibly could be due to my desktop having old iOS but don't see why that would have to do with my cell or iPad syncing/updating. Maybe for iTunes, but not for apps...

The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar by default. To show the sidebar, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
With the sidebar visible on the left side of the iTunes window, when you connect the shuffle, does it appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES?
Since this is a 2nd gen shuffle, are you using the original USB cable that came with the shuffle, with the mini-dock at the shuffle end? A USB cable that is for the 3rd or 4th gen shuffle will not work; the connector is different.

If you are using a Windows based computer, try disabling a/v software and turning off the Firewall.
Disable antivirus software
Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Then try syncing you iPhone.

i have to start in apple device propeties in services (the startup type is automatic but the service status is stopped) but when i click on start i get message " The apple mobile device service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
