Cannot sync iPad with Yosemite

I have upgraded my iMac to Yosemite and my iPad to iOS 8.1.  Suddenly, iTunes (12.0.1) on my iMac no longer connects to the iPad.  I get the message on the iPad asking if I trust this computer, but when I say that I do trust it, nothing happens and the iPad does not appear as a connected device.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem.  Upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and started getting the "do you trust this computer" with my iPhone 5s and iPad 2 every time I connect them.  Neither device shows up in iTunes.  Clicking "Trust" makes the iDevice show up in Image Capture but not iTunes.  Restarting iDevices makes the "do you trust this computer" dialog come up again but device still doesn't show up in iTunes.
Updated both devices to current iOS but problem persists.
Reset "All Settings" in iDevices as per the Apple Support "Do You Trust..." pages , no change.
Reset the iTunes Advanced preference "reset all warning dialogs", closed and opened iTunes, same problem.
Logged out and logged in - same problem.
Tried different combinations/orders of resetting a device, resetting warning dialog, restarting computer & iDevice but no change.
Rebooted the computer and devices are seen BUT they randomly disappear, sometimes instantly if I unplug and replug the device, sometimes a day later.
I just reinstalled iTunes as suggested above with fresh version downloaded from Apple.  Devices are now recognized, but I'll give it a day or two to see if the problem reoccurs before considering this solved.

  • Cannot sync ipad with Outlook 2010 contacts. help

I called techsupport when I was unable to sync my Outlook 2010 contacts with my Ipad2. The techie told me I could only sync from earlier versions of Outlook (seems kinda dumb).  She said I could sync from my gmail contacts but when I tried this gmail told me "25% of the content in your content will change on your computer". Ideas?

    The iPad manual says :
You can sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo! Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book (Microsoft Outlook Express), Windows Vista Contacts, or Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with only one application at a time.)
So you should be able to sync contacts from Outlook 2010.  I don't think Outlook 2010 was supported on the original iPad until iOS 4.2+ was installed, but the iOS on the iPad 2 has (I think) always been high enough.

My iMac cannot sync notes with my iPad or iPhone since the Mavericks update.  I get the error message "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with my [email protected]  Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem."  Help.  I have version 10.9.3 on the iMac, 7.1.1 on iPhone and iPad.  The iPhone & iPad sync notes fine.  But neither gets the changes I put in the iMac.
I automatically have an email @iCloud.com when that update occured.  Can anyone help me?

    1. Turn the router, iPad and printer off.
    2. Turn on the router and then wait 30 seconds to let it complete its start-up process.
    3. Turn on printer and then wait 30 seconds to let it complete its start-up process.
    4. Turn on your iPad and test print.

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

  • HT1535 I own an iPhone4, an iPod 3rd generation and an iPad 2. I use the same iTunes library but unfortunately synced iPad with a different computer before syncing to my own. Do I risk losing the films/apps I've downloaded onto my iPad if I sync with my i

I don't want to sync what is on my iPod to my iPad. (I have a 32gb iPod but only 16gb on iPad. The iPod I use mostly for music.) I can't seem to add the films I have downloaded onto iPad to iTunes. If I could do that, I could erase them from iPad to create more storage.
    This is intensely confusing, sorry.

    Question.....
"I own an iPhone4, an iPod 3rd generation and an iPad 2. I use the same iTunes library but unfortunately synced iPad with a different computer before syncing to my own. Do I risk losing the films/apps I've downloaded onto my iPad if I sync with my iPod?"
    Answer.....
Yes you will lose the films that you downloaded to the iPad when you sync with your own iTunes unless you transfer the purchases into your own iTunes library. Were these movies that you purchased? If so, you might be able to download them again for free. Do you have multiple computers that you sync from or is this someone else's purchased content?
You can select whatever you want to sync to all of your devices in iTunes, you do not have to sync the same content to all device.

When I connect my iPod Touch to a new laptop (Macbook Air) the "Info" tab won't appear and therefore I cannot sync it with my new iTunes. How can I sync this iPod with the iTunes on my new laptop?

There is no Info tab in Mavericks
if you use OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.

  • Lost my apps when sync iPad with iTunes

when sync iPad with iTunes, apps purchased in iPad by another account were lost, and the apps can't be seen when check for available downloads. How to get back the purchased apps? thanks.

If you lost all your apps on both the iPad and the computer, you can download the apps again at no cost. You can search your emails for app store purchases if you can't remember all the apps that you have downloaded.

Perform what is referred to as a Hard Reset.  It will delete everything including the previous owner's Hotsync ID.

  • I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred?

I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred before I can run the iOS update or I will lose them.  What should I do?  How do I figure out what purchases have not been transferred?   I went into iTunes on my Mac and ran "Check for available downloads" and I still get same message.

The 'cehck for available downloads' checks if there is anything in the store that you haven't yet downloaded, it won't copy anything from the iPad. Have you tried doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ?
