Cannot sync iPhone 3G to Lion iTune

There is another post called
Sync Contacts from AddressBook to iPhone 3G doesn't work
which describes my problem. The solution suggested was to turn off iCloud contact and then turn on "sync contacts" on iTune. I did that. I get the error msg " iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone because a sync session could not be started." I watch the sync starts and the iPhone said "Sync in Progress" and then the session dies. The place where I ticked "Sync Address Book Contacts" is reverted to blank. Please help.

I am having the same problem...have spent over 4 hours now trying to get Exchange set up on my newly updated 1st gen iPhone. When I had a T-mobile Dash, it took exactly 3 minutes to get this up and running. All settings are 100% correct. I have tried every possible combination of server address, username, etc. Nothing works. Can someone at Apple please address this issue which seems to be affecting a lot of people? The whole reason I upgraded was for Exchange support. If it will not work I can't keep the iPhone.

Hard to believe an update did this!! I had the exact problem-updated my iPod & iTunes software & iTunes was crashing whenever I hooked up the iPod-"unclicking" all of my purchased music did the trick! THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR THAT TIP-I'M SURE I WOULD'VE STILL BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM!!
Wish I hadn't restored factory settings first since I would have at least still had my piles of PURCHASED music on the iPod-I accidentally had ONE purchased song checked off to update the iPod & it crashed all over again-glad it was easy enough to figure out which song wasn't from my cd collection that I uploaded! Does anyone have any idea how this will be handled? It seems that money should be refunded for buying these songs for Apple products that, upon the company's instructions to upgrade, can no longer be played on the hardware they're specifically designed for! Or at least they're hopefully coming up with a new upgrade to solve the problem! Very irritating situation!

I have Iphones since they cam out buy IO7 on my iphone 4 is slow and frustrating. I sync itunes with sync window. I tried cable and wireless. I have enough space. If I have a playlist say with 200 songs it will say on itunes sync window syncing 200 songs however I only get 150 songs on my iphone. I have restored iphone twice, I have tried playlists and smart play lists. It seems not to sync the same songs all the time. Prior to IO7 in sinced all my songs. I see on the chats that this is a big problem. Do you have any solutions. the songs that dont sync are the same format as those that do.

There is no Info tab in Mavericks

You selected the Sync Tones box?

If you are sure that you are authorizing the correct account/ID then:

Have you tried the transferring purchases in the File drop down menu? Also you can download your purchase by checking the second article to see your purchases within your library or by going to the iTunes Store and click the Purchases link.

I've not read anything that suggests that iTunes Match considers the computer used to subscribe to be any different than any other computers that are later set up on the account (by using the same Apple ID to add them to iTunes Match).
I've associated three computers with iTunes match, each with their own unique libary. All of those libraries were merged by iTunes match. Moreover, Apple states that any of the computers can be used to delete songs from the cloud.

To delete an item from iCloud in iTunes

Click Music on the left side of iTunes.
Select the item you would like to delete. Right-click the item and then choose Delete.
