Cannot sync Ipod :-( Please help!
I cannot sync my ipod nano. I havent updated it in a year and i tried to sync some new music i bought to it and its saying it cannot be recognised and do i want to restore it to the factory settings.. Im afraid if i do this i wont be able to reinstall all of my music from the itunes library....Please any suggestions what i should do ?? Spent 90euro on new music !!

ThanksYou get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting:

Cannot eject Ipod, please help
I have the latest versions of Itunes (version 6) and ipod software and have tried to reset my ipod various times but it does not resolve the following problem.
After Itunes finishes updating my Ipod somehow I cannot disconnect the Ipod. Ipod keeps displaying "do not disconnect" and if I try to eject I get the message: "Ipod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application".
I have unchecked in the options both" "Enable disk use" and "open Itunes when ipod is attached"... but this does not solve the problem...

Actually all the ways suggested in the links you indicated fail with the exception of resetting the ipod. If I reset it than I am able to disconnect (but this seems a bit too much to disconnect the ipod).
And even using the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray fails, in the sense that windows responds by saying that 'the hardware cannot currently be removed, try later'.
I then tried to connect the ipod without having the Itunes running and everything seems fine. I can disconnect it using the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray with no trouble.
Basically the best cure I found is to connect the ipod first and then run Itunes. If I have the Itunes software running and then I connect the Ipod, basically it seems that Itunes locks my ipod and does not let go...
Anyway, thanks again for your help.

Recover music from synced ipod (please help)

I hope someone can help me. I have a 160gb ipod classic. I'm currently in Japan. I connected my ipod to the hotel computer in order to charge it. However, since it has a Japanese language itunes, I accidently pressed the wrong button. My ipod synced with the hotel itunes, and I lost all my music- 9000 songs! however, i haven't added anything else to my ipod, so the music should still be on my hard drive, shouldn't it? if anyone knows a way to recover my music i would greatly appreciate it. peace!The use of some data recovery software would be your only hope. I have iphone 4; tried to sync it said I need to update software so I clicked ok - it then said I need to restore and did above got to stage 3, clicked restore and update, but it comes up with an error saying iphone cannot be found Please help!!!

Every time I start my PC it says Procedure entry point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll It also keeps freezing on Itunes and I cannot sync. Please can anyone help?
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libmxl2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

please help I jst bought my 30gb ipod and every time I try to sync music to it the msg comes cannot sync ipod. I cannot put on one song at a time but have to replace my whole library in the ipod to add one song.

Are you running modified software on your phone? This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.

Hi, I have just bought another ipod, I have now a 60GB video ipod and a new 8GB ipod. Does it pose any problem when synchronising ? Can they have different names ? ThksYou can name your iPod whatever you like. If you are connecting a second iPod for your own use, just connect it to your computer and it will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update the whole library, selected playlists or you can manage it manually.
When using a small capacity iPod like the Nano with a large library, you can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - All songs and Playlists in iTunes 7). This would allow you to create a playlist specifically for your Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB). when i burn a disk in Disk Utility, the burn completes but the verification process does not complete and my disk pops out. The error message i get is something like this "burn failed because disk cannot be verified," PLEASE HELP.
Also when i take the disk out it seems fine nd everything seems to be burned onto the disk. I am buring mac os x lion onto a disk.
The disk i am using is nextech and i am burning at the slowest speed (4x).
Also this is my 3rd time trying to do this and the verifying process keeps failing.... what do i do?see there

Cannot sync iPod after hard drive crash
Hard drive crashed last week so reinstalled new from Dell. Data all backed up. Since new drive in cannot sync iPod. USB cable OK, iTunes "sees" iPod name and can download to iTunes but no sync. Do not get any kind of error msg that iPod registered on "another" computer (which it was). Still under warranty.
Try restoring the iPod in itunes. This should assure that it sync with the current computer it's hooked up to.

It was tele tech. I couldn't open my Page Numbers etc. Frist tech chat idiot - following dumping few things in bin, asked me yo upgrade to Yosemite. But the problem still persists. This morning I was asked to do it via telephone and like yesterday, after wasting 20 min, I was put to this apparent Tech Queen ( my foot!). She eventually decided to reinstall Yosemite asked me to connect my external drive while I connected to her. She was moving cursor asking me to move files and delete and I followed her like a dummy. It took 3/4 hours and she called me 3 times once the lengthy process was completed. I suspected from the beginng for the fact that why should be asking me to click all my backup from the very beginning! Eventually she said I deleted... Or someone else or may be my children ! It was a blatant lie. I run my small business from home and I was simply staying in front of the Mac whole day! Children were at school. Then she said I must have used another computer! I only have laptop and the iPad. I will talk to their manager first thing in the morning. In the mean time please let me know as to how can I transfer photos, music etc back to my laptop from my Iphone and IPad .? I am will connect to laptop as I am worried the new BLANK iPhoto may supersede iphone/iPad stuff? Will it? Please let me know. I am not a very tech savvy person. My son who could help me, is in Manchester Uni and Inam in London.

I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
Delete old number from contacts
Delete new number from contacts
Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact
