Cannot Sync Mails on 3G / iOS4 with Client Cert. iPhone 4 OK, OS 3.1.3 OK

Hi One and All,
Our Exchange Server 2007 (published via ISA 2006) requires Client Certificates to Sync. We use the iPhone Configuration Utility to set up the mobileconfig file, and it normally works fine. However, I currently have two iPhones (1x3G and 1x3GS) that cannot access the server via either WLAN or 3G. If I install the same config file on an iPad or an iPhone 4, it works fine. On the 3G and 3GS, it does not even enforce setting the lock code. Going into the mail account results in a "Cannot Connect To Server" error.
If I use Safari, and navigate to the Active-Sync page "https://myserver.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/default.eas" it pops up a message that I need a certificate, and to press continue to select a certificate, but it then just hangs with a doughnut, and I have to reboot if I want to use Safari again.
I have done a Reset All Settings, tried lots of different mobileconfig files, all of which work on the iPad and iPhone4, but not the iPhone 3. Any ideas?

Actually, I didn't resolve this using the iPhone Configuration Utility.
This is a new feature in iOS4. For security reasons, if you change the Exchange Profile, you have to reset the phone to factory defaults first, and then it works. According to Apple, this is by design.

Hi. Yesterday i found out that my nokia n9 cannot sync mails from my Gmail account and it is still asking me for password. I was resetting settings, cleaning phone to the factory, even i flashed my software again, and it still doesnt work. When i add an account it syncs with Gtalk succesfully, but cannot connect to Gmail. I was trying the 2 step authentication by Google, than closed any captcha problems with Google help. Than i created one more account on Gmail, wrote to this adress, and added it to my phone. Than it worked, synced the mail which i've written. But it still doesnt work with my main account.
Is there any setting file which isnt cleared until reset/flash? Or where can i find it?

I'm pretty certain that I had the same problem as you but was able to find a fix. Basically, just delete the "/home/user/.qmf" folder and reboot. Below is a link to another forum with a more technically detailed explanation. Good luck!

The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications. This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files. I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect. I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed. Will let you know if that makes any difference. I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches. If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.

You need to update iTunes. iOS 8 requires:

Why would you delete your iCloud account for a password change with your Yahoo account?
Regardless, if no problem re-creating your iCloud account on your iPad, contact Yahoo technical support.

Restart your computer
While your computer is restarting, clear all of the applications from the background on your iPhone. You can do this by pushing the home button twice and swiping the programs off the screen by pushing them upwards.
After you are done doing that, restart your phone.
Wait about 10 seconds or so and turn your phone back on. By the time you get your phone back on your computer should be completly restarted and ready to go.
When your phone is back on, plug it into your computer. This should automatically bring up your Itunes, you may get another pop up that says autoplay, you can close that out. That's it. I hope it helps and good luck

I received the same error message after I had recently updated iTunes to 10.5.1 and I had wirelessly updated 13 apps. I had to go into iTunes and select Apps, on the bottom right it said I needed to update 13 apps. I updated the apps via iTunes and then synced again without an issue.

I changed the email address for my apple id and now I cannot sync the contacts and calendar with my iphone

It is crazy but in the apple store they set up the icloud for me and then I started sync the iphone against the icloud and i had some photos in streaming because they recommended to do like that. After that, the space got not enough and they asked for more more to increase the space, so I decided to come back to the previous method and sync my iphone with itunes via usb. Well, the email address that i had for my apple id became unavailable so i had to create a new account this time with gmail and since then, i cannot sync my iphone. I have done it today and i have lost my contacts and the calendar is no ,onger sync. I am using outlook to manage my mail and when I look for the i cloud it asks me for the old email address which no longer exists and does not match with the current one.
Can anyone help me?

I bought an iMac few days ago. I would like to sync ical on my iMac with my professional calendar I use in my company (from outlook web access).
I was easy to manage it on my iPhone (I just add a new "exchange" mail account and ask for a calendar sync only) and it worked very quickly.
But I cannot do it with the iMac, and I don't undersatnd why?

I tried all the solutions I found in this forum but it doesn't work.

Sync Mail and iCal iPad with MacBook?

I have a 2 year old MacBook (sys 10.6.8) and am considering buying a new iPad Mini. I shall want to sync iCal and Mail. Can I do this please?
I don't want to sync iTunes.
Also, if my MacBook is connected to my printer, will I be able to print using wi fi? i.e: print from the iPad through the MacBook sharing the printer?

First of all, you can only sync mail if you have an IMAP email account. You cannot sync email messages from the Mac to the iPad. That action only takes place if your email is an IMAP account so it has nothing to do with the Mac or syncing with iTunes.
You can sync your calendar with iTunes without having to sync anything else if you don't want to sync anything else from iTunes. ITunes is a software on the computer and the conduit through which syncing takes place, when you say you don't want to sync iTunes, I assume that you are talking about Music.
You can download an app called Printopia for the Mac that allows you to use your Mac as the print server and you should be able to use your current WiFi printer.
There are other ways to print using other apps from the App Store, as well.

Cannot sync mail rules

I have an iPhone 3G and use mobile me. The phone and my mac are all up to date. Everything syncs fine with my mac, contacts, mail, calender. The only thing that will not sync are some mails rules, even when the "sync mail rules, signatures" box is checked in the mobile my preferences. Anybody having a similar problem or know a solution?

The sync mail rules, signatures is for keeping mail rules and signatures synchronized with the Mail.app on multiple Macs.
This does not apply to the iPhone and the iPhone's mail client which does not support rules.

iTunes does not support syncing email account mailboxes and messages with an email client on your computer. The option under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes for email accounts is for transferring the email account settings from a supported application on your computer to the iPhone's Mail client only so you don't have to manually create the account.
If you want to keep mailboxes synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account, you need an IMAP account which is specifically designed for this.
