Cannot sync movies

I cannot sync movies from iTunes on my Mac to either my iPod Touch or iPad. The movies will play in iTunes, but when I sync my iPad, it skipps the step that changes what movies are on iPad. In fact, it will not remove any of the movies that are on my iPad, either. I've tried restarting my Mac, and that has not helped. I can watch the movies via the cloud, and can download them, but downloading the movies is very slow. I would appreciate any help.

Everyone try this,
When your iPod is connected to the computer, click the movies tab and click sync all movies. Then click apply at the bottom to put it in effect. After that, click sync and hopefully that should work. Good Luck!

And I assume you have already checked to see if your iTunes purchases are authorized by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer?
Some have been able to resolve this issue by removing the downloaded purchase and redownloading it again at no cost via iCloud. See this article for more information on redownloading past purchases.

Cannot sync movies to iPad 2

Syncing movies from itunes on mac OSx to kids ipads. ipad4 worked fine. Cannot sync movies with ipad2. Itunes recognises ipad2 and performs backup but will not sync movies. Had error message twice: sync failed as sync session failed to finish. Any ideas?

Without details, there's not much anyone here can do other than guess. I'd suggest you repost your question in the iPad forum, providing details such as the operating system running on your computer, what version of iTunes you have, and information about these movies (where did you get them, for instance), and someone there can probably help.

Cannot sync movies on Ipad

Is anyone having issues syncing movies on the ipad. I have tried all options and my entire movie library refuses to move over to the iPAD. Is this a known bug or something that apple needs to fix. All my movies are syncing with my iphone and Apple TV without any issues.

I run into this same problem on occasion. For some reason iTunes thinks a movie isn't compatible with the iPad even though the movie IS compatible. Instead of letting the user override this and allow the movie to sync, Apple in their new "big brother" mode simply won't let you even try to play the file. Grrrrr....
However, if you know the movie format is fine (or just want to try it), you can add the movie to the iPad using Air Sharing HD (their may be other software which performs this same function). You can then play the movie directly in that app. Unfortunately, Air Sharing HD does not remember your location, so if you stop playing in the middle you will have to find your place again manually. This has allowed me to play a number of movies which are properly encoded but which iTunes refuses to sync to my iPad.

I am having trouble syncing movies to my ipod nano, it's the 5thgen one, and i have synced both purchased movies and ripped copies of my Simpson dvds onto this ipod before. In addition, all the new movies that i was just getting ready to add are in mp4 ipod compliant format and have successfully been synced to both my ipod touch and my ipod phone. what am i doing wrong?

The requisite programming / coding to assure PDFMaker can function with the MS Office applications is non-trivial.
Only MS Word has the "full boat". Historically it was MS that asked Adobe to come up with what is now called "PDFMaker".
Specifically the request was for MS Word. An overwhelming number of MS clients (enterprise in particular) wanted an easier way to create not only PDF but better, interactive PDF.
The "success" was announced in a major MS hosted "conclave" back in the day.
(a good history research project for those who are skeptical)
Some "outlying" MS applications have never been PDFMaker friendly. MS Publisher and MS Access are two of the more notables.
As Adobe provides a page layout program of its own (InDesign - and, yes Publisher too is a "page layout" application) I've always found it odd that Adobe's Acrobat team expended resources on MS Publisher.
I've had MS Publisher with every version of Office I've had. While I do not use it "professionally" (FrameMaker please) I use it enough to know it does not support PDFMaker functionality very well.
As PDF is an ISO Standard and Microsoft (as well as Adobe) are active participants on the U.S. Committee for PDF-Reference (ISO 32000) the question is better posed to Microsoft's MS Publisher management.
The questions you need to ask of the MS Publisher development team are:
"Why are you not providing acceptable support for output of well-formed, ISO 32000 compliant PDF (which by the way would include PDF/UA-1 compliance ablity)?
The MS Word team is doing it.
Adobe's InDesign team is doing it.
So, what is the problem with the MS Publisher team?
In short the issue rests with the business decisions made by the MS Publisher team's management.
Again, PDF is an ISO STANDARD not something held captive by Adobe.

Cannot sync movies in Itunes to my Ipad 3

I have tried a few times to sync my movies in itunes and it it isnt working. HELP

Are you syncing correctly?
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Movies Tab on the right.
Click on all of the Movies that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Movies Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Cannot sync movies to ipad

I am unable to sync movies to my iPad running iOS7. The movies had previously synced with no issues. I am not sure if this is an issue with iOS7 but did not have this problem with iOS6. I have tried different ports, updating iTunes & iOS, restoring and cycling power on everything.
The movies can be selected to sync but after sync they show up gray in the list under iTunes list of what is on the iPad. They also do not show up on the iPad.

Cannot Sync Movies or Music to from iTunes on Mac Mini to Apple TV

Hello,
In itunes on my Mac Mini I can see my ATV and when I click on the ATV the only tab I have is the photos tab. I don't have a Movies tab to sync my movies. I have my ATV and itunes at the latest level and this is the first time I have tried to sync movies. Up until now I have just streamed the movies from the Mini, but I have 150Gb of space on the ATV that I would like to use.

I too need the answer to this question. My Apple Tv was syncing just fine with iTunes up until I updated to iTunes 8.1 and then left town for a week. I returned, and my Apple TV would not appear in the Devices list in iTunes.
I tried connecting the AppleTV both via wireless and ethernet, and it never appeared in iTunes. Then I set up sharing between iTunes on my computer and the Apple TV and it finally showed up in the Devices list in iTunes, but it only shows the 'Summary' and 'Photos' tabs and will not sync music or movies with the computer. It was all working just fine before. I don't really care what happened (though Apple should) and would be happy to just get the Apple TV syncing again. How do I re-link it as a primary?
For what it's worth, the Apple TV does not show up in "iTunes Preferences > Apple TV > Apple TVs connected to iTunes". I've restarted the Apple TV, the router, and my computer, with no improvement in the situation.

Cannot sync movies or videos that are in iTunes

I used Handbrake to convert some DVDs for iTunes. I try to sync them to the iPad and get an error saying the iPad cannot play it so it's not copied. I then go into iTunes, select the Movie and pull down the Advanced Menu option for "Create iPad or Apple TV version." I get an error saying, the video is already in the correct format. Any ideas? I hope I don't have to rip the DVD again from scratch.

Have you converted the video in iTunes as described here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iPhoneUserGuide.pdf
Highlight the video file in iTunes and click Advanced> convert selection for iPod.

Cannot Sync movies with ipad

Hi!!!!
I have 2 Apple ID's, Some movies i buy it with eather id's. So, when i try to sync the movies doesn't appears some movies. However mi MacBook Pro it's authorize to play everything from 2 apple id's.
I check the movies, in the timeline appear de memory left, but when i click sync, the bar change, and in the "in this ipad" appears a circle in the movie that doesn't sync.
Someone can tell my how to fix this.

Is there any chance that you may have installed third party plug ins in iTunes - in your user account.? Did you get this far in that support article above?

I cannot sync movie from PC to iPad - says already transferred

I rented two movies yesterday via the iTunes store onto my PC. When I now try to move them onto my iPad2, it looks like it's doing the transfer, but in the end I just get the error message "The rental [movie name] could not be transferred to the iPad [my ipad name] because it has already been transferred to another computer or device."... which is not true.
Any suggestions for how I can get this to work? The movies are still on my PC according to my itunes program, but I want to watch them on my ipad.

iPad Air 64lte, absolutely hopeless trying to transfer a few videos to the device. On my Android tablets, plug in, transfer to where I want. Apple Gods make us puppets do it their way-AND IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Constant lockups with iTunes, just hangs there. EVERY time.
So, rant aside. Besides the worthless iTunes, what other program wil actually work to sync? MediaMonkey does not allow for eay NAS access. MusicBee has great NAS support, but no video support................
The iPad experience is just frustrating.
By the way mods, perhaps add the iPad Air to the dropdown for device options. Been out a little while now. Gheesh.

Apple tv 1st gen cannot sync with itunes 11.1 purchase

My 1st gen Apple TV cannot sync movies/TV shows that were purchased after itunes 11.1 upgrade. Old movies/TV shows purchased prior to 11.1 have no issue deleting or adding to ATV, anyone has same issue?

Well ... took a long time but found out you are right. The ones that I cannot sync to ATV are the 1080p movies/TV shows.
I thought I had previously downloaded many HD movies/TV shows, but after checking the "get info" they are at best 720p even though the titles say "HD"

Can't sync movies to iPad; can't share movies on network

On the iPad (with retina display), when trying to watch movies shared from iTunes, after selecting the shared library, the circle spins for a while until failing with "Unable to turn on Home Sharing". This started happening a lot recently, but I figured it wasn't that bad....I can just sync a few movies to the iPad, no problem, right? WRONG!!!! I cannot sync movies to the iPad either. iTunes just acts like it is doing something, then after a while it just stops acting like it's doing anything. The movies never sync. Also, if I deselct movies that are already there, they still do NOT get removed from the iPad.
You might ask how I got the movies there in the first place. This happened once already and I reset the iPad. I was able to watch one movie in my shared library before getting the "Unable to turn on Home Sharing", and I was able to sync 4 movies. That was it though, and all attempts to watch shared movies or to sync movies now fail. Funny thing is that when I reset the iPad I lost a lot of custom settings. I only got movies on it for a day biut I've been configuring my erased settings for a week. I have reset my account info for home sharing in the iPad multiple times. I have reset the iPad. As I said, resetting worked for a day or two.
Any ideas?
