Cannot Sync Outlook Contacts to iPhone 4S from iTunes

I configured a verizon email account in Outlook. Then, when I go to iTunes to sync and upload contacts, a choice for Outlook doesn't appear. Only a choice for Windows Contacts. iTunes apparently doesn't see the new email account configuration. How do I upload Outlook contacts to the iPhone 4 s? Help !!

If it worked at one time this is usually caused by a bad contact record in the contact database. As a start open Contacts in Outlook, using the Phone List view. Open the first contact, then save it. If you get an error this is a bad contact. If this does not find that the first record is bad open iTunes go to Edit/Preferences, then the Syncing tab, and Reset Sync History and try again.
If it still won't sync contacts you can use scanpst.exe to check the PST file. It is usually in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033. Instructions can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497
Alternatively, using Outlook, export the PST file as a CSV file, then import it.

Trying to sync Outlook contacts to iPhone (mostly business contacts). Too few fields. How do I add new ones or is there a good app?

I was a Palm user. My Palm made portable all contact info, calendar, tasks and notes in very helpful way. But after I lost my calendar on PalmDesktop twice in one month, decided I needed a different solutio and bought iPhone 4.
Arduous process of transferring different categories/subgroups of contacts to Outlook (yes, I have a PC) and finding that some data just does not map right. Then tried to sync with iPhone only to find that most of data can't be mapped to the meager number of fields it looks like are available on the iPhone. Is there a way to add fields? Yes, from Outlook it will only sync Calender, Contacts from you mail accounts. No subfolders and no Task Manager. Maybe there will be changes in the iOS 5.
In the App Store you can search for "task manager". There are some options, but study them carefully before you buy any.

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion. There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field. if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it. If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

I am not sure but I think the Outlook "sync" with iTunes only works in one direction - i.e. from your PC to your iPhone - if you are looking to export the contacts the otehr way round - from your phone to your PC, you can refer to the following alternative methods to sync iPhone contacts.

I cannot sync Outlook 2010 to iphone unless I run in compatibility mode?

Since upgrading to iTunes 10. (curently at 10.5.3.3), my iphone has not synced properly unless I run in Windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode.
I have tried all of the suggestions on the boards and still have the problem. Is there anyone at Apple who can solve this?

I've now got iTunes 11.0.0.163 and this issue is still there. I can only sync with outlook in compatibility mode, which suggest there is a problem somewhere with the Win 7 MS files. I have done everything on these forums to find a efix. I get no error messages it's just the calendar and contacts do not get updated.

I just switched from a bb to an iphone. My contacts from my phone were backed up into outlook. When I got the phone the tech tranfered the numbers from my sim (which were old) to my phone. I would hate to have to go through my contacts in oulook and do this manually. Is there and easier way?

Cannot sync iPod 128GB or iPhone 4S with iTunes 11.3.1.2.

Either the iPod freezes and crashes, along with iTunes freezing or my iPhone syncs, but I cannot play the music that is synced to the iPhone. I updated to the new version of iTunes a few days ago, and this is the first time syncing so I think there may be a problem with iTunes. I have tried to disconnect and sync both devices three times and I still get the same result.

Just to make sure you are looking at the right place in iTunes, in the iTunes window, there is a sidebar along the left side of window. When the iPod shuffle is connected to USB, does it say "DEVICES" in the sidebar? If so, the iPod shuffle's name should appear below DEVICES (you may need to click Show next to DEVICES).
When you connected it for the first time, iTunes should have asked you about setting up the shuffle. If that did not happen, there is some problem.
Basic troubleshooting would be to shut down (power off) the computer. At the same time, use this reset procedure on the shuffle

Then, start up computer, with shuffle NOT connected. Run iTunes. Connect the shuffle.

Can't sync 7 songs to iPhone 5 from iTunes? HELP

My iTunes is completely up to date and same goes for my iPhone 5. Seven songs that I recently added to my iTunes appear normal and play like any other song I have on there, but when I connect my Iphone 5 to the library, and click on the iphone tab and go to music "on this iPhone", the seven songs will not play when I click on them, they are "grayed out", and there is also a small circle made up of tiny gray dots just to the left of the check mark box for the song. I will sync my phone and apply and disconnect, then I look at my phone and the songs are not there?... Please help, Thanks.

I also found, finally, that selecting "manually manage" for the device on the summary page in iTunes for the helped.

Hello, when I drag songs from my iTunes music library to my iPhone, iTunes tells me it is "Preparing to update." Eventually it stops preparing, but the songs are not copied. I have been dragging songs from my iTunes library to my phone for years. Suddenly this method isn't working. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.3; it is updated. Likewise with iTunes; it's version 11.1.3, the current version. I have tried rebooting both phone and computer to no avail.

I have now changed from a Blackberry Q10 to an iPhone 5s and all my contacts have synced across via outlook exchange. But they have not synced into their relevant/groups and none of the contact photos have synced across either.
Apple Care now tell me that this will not happen with the iPhone due to the way that this information is stored on the phone.
Do you, or anyone else there, have any other views on this please?
