Cannot Sync with Outlook 2010

We recently did a number of hardware upgrades on our computer and installed Windows 7 and Office 2010 about 3 weeks ago (full versions not upgrades). I have been unable to sync my BB ever since and after reading through the message boards have discovered I am not alone. I downloaded the latest BB update which I understood would make my BB and Office compatible.
I don't know if the problems are related to BB and Office not being compatible or if there is another problem with my computer. This is what I have done and am encountering:
- downloaded BB update version 6.0.0.43; BB would not recognize Outlook when I tried to organize my Contacts and Address Book. I have tried repairing and subsequently uninstalling then reinstalling this update a few times.
- gave up and downloaded CompanionLink; Received error message "Click-to-run Outlook lacks API capability. You must install Outlook on your PC for sync". I sought help from CompanionLink but continue to have no luck. The "Add-Ins" link in my BB Desktop Software was available when I first downloaded CompanionLink but has now disappeared and I don't know how to get it back. I did try repairing the BB update to see if this would resolve it.
- in the BB Desktop Software Applications tab, it states BB 5.0.0 System Software version 5.0.0 and Core Application Version 5.0.0. are required but it does not give me the capability to install it. I thought the version 6.0.0.43 update replaced version 5.0.0. I don't know if this is relevant or if it matters.
I don't know if this is a syncing problem between my BB and Outlook or if there is something else going on. I would appreciate any help or advice which can be given. Thanks in advice,

  • IPhone 4 (iOS5) not syncing with outlook 2010 calendar

    Hi Guys,
My iPhone 4 has been working great for the last few months up until recently.  I have been able to sync with outlook 2010 for both my contacts and calendar using iTunes sync in the past with no problems..  I went to conference last week and got back in the office sync’d yesterday.  Things are not right. My contacts sync, but calendar does not sync either way (phone to PC - PC to phone).  I upgraded to iOS5 and reloaded iTunes and I'm having the same problem.  I also noticed that my sync is taking much, much longer (like there is a conflict somewhere.)   The contacts still sync, but no new/changed calendar entries.  Anyone have this problem and have any ideas how do I can fix it?  Is it a simple setting switch on the iPhone or iTunes?  It's getting very frustrating!!  One of my office mates has been taunting me with his android phone and I’m starting to feel like I might have to do something drastic to get my calendar back on my phone…
Outlook version is MS Pro Plus 2010 - 14.0.5128.5000 (64-bit)
    iTunes version is 10.5.0.142
    iPhone version is 5.0 (9A334)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, man. Sorry I have no solution, but it may not hurt to know you are not the only one.
I uprgraded a 3GS to iOS 5, set it up to sync with iCloud initially, and then switched back to sync with PC as before. It seems that my calendar was syncing at first, but within a few days it just stopped.
I also recall a ton of weird "sync conflicts" that I had to resolve, even though the iTunes conflict reslover showed information that was identical in Outlook and iPhone calendar.
Notes and contacts sync just fine with Outlook 2003 under Windows Vista for me, but calendar will not sync at all any more, either direction.
I have tried most of the suggestions, including restoring iPhone and creating a whole new user account in Windows and tried syncing iPhone and Outlook via iTunes that way (and both USB and wifi). I did not seem to have any better success.
This is a disaster. So far I have just been using Notes to MANUALLY sync calendar info between devices.
I have never given nearly as much thought to Android as I have lately.
It may be time to call Apple Support, but my previous experiences with them (and the "Geniuses" at the store) were underwhelming.

After reinstalling operating system Windows 7, I lost apps and can no longer sync with Outlook 2010?

    apps are stored in
    C:\Users\<your account name>\Music\iTunes\Mobile Applications
their extensions are .Ipa  you can try doing a search on your harddisk
unless you formattet it when you reinstalled
but an app can only ever be bought 1 times on an appleID so if you try to buy them again it will give you a free download of the app and not charge you
about sync then if you connect the ipad and click info tab and set it to sync your outlook data it should sync without any problems

  • Curve 9320 does not sync with outlook 2010

Well, I've seen some posts about this issue, yet, not found much in the way of solutions.
I have a curve 9320, oldie but goodie.  I also have Outlook 2010 on this Win 7 Pro computer.
The BB desktop software is v.7.1 bundle 2814.
Now, when I ask the BB desktop to sync with outlook it gives me one choice under config - Outlook profile. that seems to make sense, I only have 1 profile in Outook.
I ask it to sync, and the progress bar moves along, the task completes and it says sync complete.  And yet, nothing in the contacts, or calendar on either side has changed.  It says there are changes, but I can't see them on the outlook calendar or contacts.
I read in one post that having a blank email field might mess up the sync with the contacts, but could that compromise the calendar sync as well?  I set the BB desktop to only sync the calendar, and still no changes.
Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.
Or should I just grin and bear it until I can get the classic....
    thanks

  • HTC Sync 3: Calendar and People Greyed out.  Cannot Sync with Outlook

    Hello Folks,
I thought I would post this for anyone else that is having issues with HTC Sync 3.  I just upgraded from my Windows Mobile 6.5 phone to the Android HTC Thunderbolt so I was use to syncing my Outlook Calendar and Contacts to my phone with Windows Mobile Device Center.  For whatever reason, once I got HTC Sync installed and connected to the TB, the Calendar and People options were grayed out.  After a lot of searching the web and colorful metaphors, I finally found  two solutions that when combined,  allowed me to sync Outlook 2010 using HTC Sync 3.
What I did was run a repair on Outlook 2010.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs & Features > Outlook 2010.  Choose Repair.
This will take a few minutes and did not destroy any of my existing data in the outlook.pst file.
When it is complete, reboot your PC.  Your HTC Sync should now allow you to enable both Calendar and People tabs.
IMPORTANT: Before you connect your Android to the PC and run HTC Sync, make sure that:
If you have used another program to copy your contacts information to the device, you should delete the Android data first.  Otherwise you will get duplicates in Outlook and the Android.  To delete the contacts, I went to People > Menu > Delete > Menu > Select All > Delete
If you have used another program to copy your calendar information to the device, you should delete the Android data first.  Otherwise you will get duplicates in Outlook and the Android.  To delete the calendar information do:Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All (tab) > Calendar Storage > Clear Data
You will also need to do:
    Calendar > Menu > more > calendar’s > menu > remove Calendars > select calendar > OK.
After that, I was able to sync my Outlook 2010 information to the HTC Thunderbolt.
    Hope this is helpful
    Peace

I've had this problem for 3 months! Here are things I've tried which didn't work (my Outlook 2003 calendar still won't sync with my iPhone so my iPhone essentially does not have a working calendar)...but they might work for you:
delete everything off the calendar on your iPhone & check the "override your calendar the next time you sync" button & sync
try setting up a new user on your computer and syncing to that (make sure you've unchecked that "override everything on the iPhone at next sync" button) to see if things will move from the iPhone to the computer

  • Unable to sync with Outlook 2010 Calendar after upgrade to iTune 10.5.1

    Hi,
I am using iTunes 10.5.0.142 running on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and Office 2010 Professional, with iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1.
After I upgraded to iTunes 10.5.1, I was not able to sync with Outlook's Calendar.  However, if I use the option to overwrite all calendar entries from the computer to the iPhone, I was able to get my appointments across.  But added new appointments in Outlook did not appear in the iPhone after syncing. Syncing contacts seem to work OK so far.
This was very similar to a problem I had when I moved to iTunes 9.2.1 to get iOS 4.0 back in Dec 2010.  This was later resolved in later builds of iTunes 10.0.
Please look into this and see what are the differences in dealing with calendar syncing between iTunes 10.5.0.142 and your latest iTunes 10.5.1.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Gordon

I have a solution that seems to fit globally...
When you download and install Office 2010, you have 3 choices that you may not be aware of: 32-bit, 64-bit, click-to-run.
    32-BIT
The 32 bit version is your typical office installation. You need to download the installer and let Office integrate with your system, just like every version to this point has done. This works with iTunes.
    64-BIT
I haven't heard anything good about this version yet. Reports say it won't allow syncing with iTunes and various other plugins. Installation works the same as the 32 bit version.
    CLICK-TO-RUN
This is a new installation method devised by Microsoft.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office2010/archive/2009/11/06/click-to-run-delivering -office-in-the-21st-century.aspx
It essentially runs Office as a virtualization on a new Q drive. That means there are no EXE files for iTunes to find. Also, iTunes will not be able to locate a default mail program, even though you have Outlook set as such.
Download time is hugely faster with C2R and updates are seamless. Kinda big brothery to me. If you want to reinstall office with a full, true version, log into your MSN account with the account you used to purchase the software, click my account, click download next the the product you purchased, then click Advanced Options and select the 32-bit version. You will need to uninstall Office 2010 before attempting a new install.
    Hope this helps.

  • Iphone notes are not syncing with outlook 2010

Hi, my iPhone 4 notes are not synchronize with outlook 2010 in both way. I uninstall my itunes and office and reinstall but still the problem remain. I also check itunes addin in outlook 2010 which is active.  I checked in itunes info tab all setting are correct. I only sync notes with outlook, no email and calendar. One more thing my both programs iTunes and Microsoft office install in D: partition not in C: partition (windows).

  • ICloud not syncing with Outlook 2010 Calendar

First I should say that I had successfully setup iCloud with all my devices:  iP4, iPad2 and Win7 PC with Outlook 2010.  A few days ago I had to reinstall Outlook.  I re-installed iCloud via Control Panel and successfully downloaded the iCloud Calendar to Outlook.  All the devices sync with iCloud but Outlook does not.   Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Glad that romlee's fix worked for Donawat! This iCloud situation is just a fiasco if you work in Windows and use Outlook.
I had been having problems with accurate syncing ever since I downloaded the OS 5, which is obviously not meant for the iPhone 4. (Phone has been glitchy too but that is another story.)
Previously, I was on Outlook 2007 with Windows 7 home premium. While I could get things to work, I was having the same problem that others have: duplicate entries, incorrect entries, entries that just won't show up, etc. After lots of research (and many what I consider wasted hours) I was able to find a fix that worked for me.
First of all, I want to point out that one of the reasons it doesn't work well is because Apple created a file format for iCloud that does not create a .PST file (which is what Outlook uses). Apple should just be up front about this as they have severely damaged their reputation with Windows users who have iPhones, plus they are wasting a lot of people's time.
Second, unless you already have a me.com account, you can no longer create one.
Third, I came to realize that iCloud does not update its records. It just keeps adding the same things over and over again which I theorize causes the duplicates. Even if you merge the calendars, it just creates new calendar threads (the new colored dot entries in calendar lists).
My goal was to GET RID OF iCLOUD. If you want to keep using iCloud, what I did probably won't help you but please read it and see if an idea to solve your problem arises out of it.
Before I had yesterday's problem, I took the time and spent the money to upgrade Windows 7 to the Ultimate version, and then updated Office to 2010 from 2007.
After all the files downloaded and installed, I proceeded to try and make syncing with iCloud work. Foolishly, I thought it would work better if I had the newer software.
I ended up spending a total of six hours trying to figure out where my Outlook data went, why my calendar and contacts weren't showing in my personal files, and trying to get it back where it belonged. After more research and hours spent updating my data files, I was able to move things back to Outlook personal folders. What I ended up doing was this:
    1) In Outlook 2010, if syncing via iCloud, you will see personal folders and iCloud folders. Open the iCloud folders and look at all the Calendars (it just keeps creating them; there were 5 export to outlook calendars and I think 7 iCloud calendars). Find the calendar that is yours (the one you know is the most recent and has the info you are looking for).
    2) When you identify the correct calendar, open it using list view. (You can access that in Outlook 2010 via the View menu, then use the change view button). The list of dates will show up as a list in date order from oldest to newest. Review this entire list and delete all the duplicates or things you don't want to keep. Once this is done, you are ready to move the file.
    3) After you have your calendar file the way you want it, still in list view, hit control + a to select all, then press the copy to folder button. A window will open with all your files in it; select the calendar -personal folders file and click ok. Change your view to Calendar and you will see that all the items have moved over. WARNING: because of all the weirdness with iCloud, some of your recurrences and other dates may be missing. I found this happened with recurrences rather than appointments because the appointments are duplicated so many times but some other things may be missing.
at this point, it (the calendar) does not yet show up in outlook today. *You will change your data file in account settings later.*
    4) Go back to the iCloud folders and open the contacts. Select list, select all, and then copy to contacts-personal folder as with the calendar items. Check your contacts there and make sure the list has moved.
    5) Close outlook.
    6) Open iTunes with your phone connected via USB. Under info, switch everything you want to sync back to Outlook. Then close iTunes and unplug your USB connection.
    7) Find your iCloud icon under Control Panel. Select "sign out." It is not necessary to keep a copy unless it makes you feel more comfortable. If you have another backup system like Carbonite you should be okay. Of course, it never hurts to make a copy (but if you do, it takes awhile and it is not clear where it ends up).
    8) Open outlook again; go to account settings. Under data files, select Personal Folders as the default file. You will still see an iCloud archive on your list after you change it.
    9) after you do this, it  will take several minutes for Outlook to switch over to the Personal Folders data file. Be patient. After this is done, you will be able to use Outlook 2010 without the iCloud files showing up or interfering with the function of the software or syncing.
    10) Once Outlook has successfully switched files, close it again.
    11) On your iPhone, go to settings and select the iCloud menu. Turn off iCloud sync on each item you have been syncing. When it asks if you want to keep all the items that iCloud has placed there, select DELETE.
This is an act of bravery; I had no idea what would happen when I did it. However, it worked out fine because it wiped my calendar and contacts clean on the iPhone. No more duplicates. A bit scary because no more ANYTHING but when I synced the phone again, it all came back -- and no dupes.
    12) after you turn off iCloud on your phone, plug your iPhone into the USB port, turn on iTunes. After iTunes recognizes your phone, it will sync again. All your contacts and calendar items will be transferred back to your iPhone (and no duplicates!)
I am very pleased that I was able to figure this out, but disgusted at Apple's irresponsibility with claiming iCloud works with everything. It obviously doesn't and I wasted a lot of time and lost some data due to the iCloud.
In summary: This is what I did to get rid of iCloud. If you want to keep it, I don't know how helpful this will be.
Reminder: I did this in a Windows 7 Ultimate environment with Outlook 2010. I also have iTunes 10.5.2 (most recent version). Note: In Outlook 2007, 10.5.2 causes a glitch that claims iTunes can't find Outlook even if it is there.
You can repair the glitch in 2007 by closing all your programs, go to the control panel, then open the Programs menu. Find your Office 2007 program and right click. It gives you the option to repair or uninstall. Select REPAIR and then the windows installer will run. Follow the prompts and then restart. You will be able to see Outlook again from iTunes.
Hopefully, this will help others not waste time trying to make their technology function smoothly!
Thanks to the Apple community for the answers I've received.

  • Will i pad calendar sync with outlook 2010

I am trying to sync my I pad calendar with Outlook 2010. The problem is I can't use I cloud because my o/s is Xp.

I just sync it through iTunes. Connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes. Then under the 'info' tab youi'll see the option to add your Outlook calendar to the sync. Make that selection and sync and your calendar should be on your iPad.
I have outlook 2010 and it syncs just fine.

Office 2010 has been released to Technet, schools, and other organizations.
