I cannot sync contacts between my iPhone 4s and MacBook Pro after I upgraded the Mac with the latest operating system software upgrade. Even the Mac Store couldn't help...

That is because that sync ability (for contacts and calendars) has been removed. Use iCloud instead.

  • IPhone cannot sync contacts

Does anyone know how to resolve this error? I keep getting an error message stating that iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPhone because an error occurred while pushing data from the phone.

I have Windows XP and have been having this same problem. To reset the sync history with Window just open i-Tunes; then select "edit" - "preferences." In this window select the "syncing" tab and there you can reset the sync history.
I did this and was able to sync my contacts and calender with Outlook 2003 without any problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • OVI Suite 3.0.0.284 : Cannot sync contacts

After my multitude of issues with the new N8, had to set up a router just for this device because it would crash my whole network, I decided to update to this version of OVI SUITE.  Long story short, I lost capability to sync my contacts with Outlook 2010. It worked with the previous version, this one simply crashes. Sync's everything else but contacts.  I said, there was a problem with the update process. I uninstalled the thing 10 times according to the guides here and no luck. Heck, I even formatted my laptop yesterday! Yeah, for New Year's whilsts I was waiting of guests I was formatting my laptop. Still no joy. Fresh OS, with fresh Outlook and brand new PST, does not sycn contacts. OVI Crashes!
Any solutions? Please don't say remove the software because I installed the damn thing on brand new OS and still crashes.

I reported this issue to Nokia Support, got a detailed answer. Have not tried the suggested things because I was able to sync contacts by doing uninstall of OVI Suit and reinstalling from OVI Suit download link at betlabs.nokia.com.
    Here´s the official answer:

    C:\Users\Benutzername\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase
Dieser Ordner ist sowohl unter Windows XP als auch unter Windows Vista ein versteckter Ordner, so dass Sie ihn unter Umständen je nach gewählten Optionen erst sichtbar machen müssen:

  • I cannot sync contacts from Iphone to Imac

I am syncing my Iphone 4s to my new Imac and my contacts arent showing up anywhere? What am I doing wrong?

Have you chosen to sync Contacts in iTunes?  If your contacts are not showing up in the Address Book on whatever Mac you're using, the obvious thing to check is the sync in iTunes.  Be careful to make sure that you sync from the phone to the computer and not vice versa.
Just to be safe you might backup the phone to iCloud first so that your contacts will be in the iCloud.  Use this for instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859

  • Cannot sync contacts from iPad to pc?

I'm desperately trying to copy my contacts from my iPad to Outlook (2013), since I have lost them all on my pc. But when I connect and go to Info (at least this is what it's called on my Danish version), I can't tick off "Sync Contacts" (nor calendars for that matter). Neither is there a choice on what on my iPad is called Resume.
I hope it makes sense. I really need advice soon - and preferably in a not-too-technical language which this elderly, Danish lady will understand ;-)

You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:

  • IPhone 3G cannot sync contacts/calendar with iTunes 7.7 in Vista

    My environment:
    Computer - PC
OS - Windows XP Pro SP2
Apple Products - iPhone 3G with Itunes 7.7
Software - Miscrosoft Office with Outlook 2003
    Laptop Vaio FZ21M
    OS - Windows Vista SP1
Apple Products - iPhone 3G with Itunes 7.7
Software - Miscrosoft Office with Outlook 2007
When I connect my iPhone 3G to the laptop, iTunes launch, but in Info tab I don't get the option to sync Contacts or Calendar. The only message that appears is "Your contacts are being pushed to your iPhone over the air from Microsoft Exchange"
On the other hand when I connect iPhone 3G to desktop with Windows XP SP2, I get the option to sync contacts with Outlook/Gmail Address Book/Yahoo Address Book, etc. Today I performed an update to iTunes, installing version 7.7.046 ,but the problem persists.
A collegue of mine has excactly the same problem, he is also using a laptop running Windows Vista SP1 , iTunes 7.7 but Outlook 2003 instead. When he connects iPhone 3G, he doesn't get the option to sync Contacts or Calendar. Email sync option is available.
Is there anything we can do?

I had the same problem with my 3G phone.  I solved it as follows
    1) Go to preferences in your address book and delete the iCloud.  This will revert your address book to 'On My Mac'.
    2) Turn off your iCloud account in system preferences.
    3) Run iTunes, enable sync contacts and under advanced, replace information on this phone, enable contacts.
    4) Press apply button and sync should begin. Itunes will now load your contact file into the phone.
    5) Re-enable your iCloud account.

  • N86 - MFE cannot sync contacts, no option to do so...

    Hi
Im setting up MFE on a Nokia N86, and its not troubleless to say the least. At first i could'nt get the option to use MFE when trying to setup e-mail on the phone. I solved this by setting the phone to offline mode and then setting up MFE by using the e-mail setup option.
But in the menu where I'm supposed to choose what to sync, the only option is e-mail. I got the calendar syncing by choosing the default mailbox as MFE under the calendar settings. So now the last thing i need is contacts.
The phone is syncing with a Exchange 2007 server, and it works perfectly on our other phones, E71, E90, HTC and so on... But not on the N86... I have 5 of theese and all of them have the same issue...
Hope somebody can help, otherwise I really considering returning the phones and buying HTC's instead...
    Thanks in advance! :-)

    Hi,
    Try this...
In Applications\Email\Settings open Personal Inform Manager and you will find the optiosn to sync contacts.
    Hope this helps.

  • If you cannot sync contacts this might be the problem...too many contact groups

I have a Centro and MAC book and was trying to use ISync and then Missing Sync to sync data. In both programs the contacts would not sync but all else did just fine. I have many contacts but did not need all of them on my phone so I organized them into groups in the address book, with one group being a list of the current contacts I wanted on my phone. With MissingSync the program will only sync a certain number of groups, although I had more than that number I didn't think it mattered because I was only trying to sync the one group. It matters. Even though in the Missing Sync conduit setting the group was listed and I only checked that group off to sync - nothing would sync.
The solution was to save a back up of my address book and then delete all my contact groups except the one I wanted to sync. POOF! It worked. I am not sure exactly how many groups would work but if the priority is to get a certain number of contacts, not all, on your phone and you have a lot of groups, maybe this strategy will work for you. If you are using ISync, since the problem was the same for both programs, maybe this would also be the solution in ISync.
What led to this ah-ha moment was a forum moderator at MissingSync suggesting I create another user on my computer with administrative capability, create a few test contacts and then try to sync. This did work, the contacts did sync.
I hope this may be of help to someone and possibly save you a lot of time.  Good luck!

  • Cannot sync contacts, "Mingler has stopped working"

Can anyone help me please? When I try to sync my contacts, its starts to and then a screen pops up saying "Mingler has stopped working." It never finishes syncing. I am stuck. Has anybody dealt with this?

Well I fixed it somehow. I deleted "mingler.exe" from Program Files>Common Files>Apple>Mobile Device Support. I then uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled. Worked like a charm.

  • Cannot sync contacts from icloud

I've looked for a tutorial on syncing conacts fron icloud to my ios 7 device (iphone 4s.)  However, each tutorial I've seen mentions that I should be prompted to "merge" my contacts via pop-up on my phone.  I do not receive that message, so I am at a loss as to how to sync my contacts over.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Well...I just implemented the classic head-scratching tech fix.  I turned my phone off and when I powered back on the contacts were still not there.  However after about 15-30 seconds they came back.
In any event, thanks for the help, randers4...if nothing else, you helped me maintain my sanity for the past several minutes!

  • Cannot sync contacts

I have spent many hours on this problem, doing much online research. All to no avail.
Put simply, I enter a new contact on my iPhone. I go to iCloud and the new contact is not there.
    AND
I got to iCloud and enter a new contact. I go to my iPhone and the new contact is not there.
For the life of me I cannot make this work.
    Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will help, but since they both relate to iCloud, this may...
IOS family share cat get past share location screen
The last post from ryanfromleesburgsuggests logging out of, then back into your iCloud account. It sounds reasonable and may actually work.
