Cannot text with IPhone using Uconnect
My uconnect does not let me recieve or send text messages thru my iphone?
Uconnect isn't supported by Apple, so it's highly unlikely that anyone here would be able to troubleshoot it for you. As long as your apple services are working like iMessage, your phone is working fine. I would contact the developer of the app for more support

Why has my ipad mini stopped connecting with my iPhone 4S? I used to use it to download books, or transfer emails to my ipad mini. It was fine 3 days ago, now I get a message saying " cannot join with iPhone" Any help greatly appreciated.
You can try resetting your iPad and iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. -

Cannot tether to iPhone using bluetooth, only USB
I am having an issue using bluetooth. I am trying to connect my iphone using bluetooth, and it does pair. but for some reason, i cannot get onto the internet. I go to the network settings and it gives me a yellow circle beside "bluetooth pan". But when I use my USB cord to connect my iPhone to the Macbook, the internet works. You think there is a problem with my bluetooth?
I was wondering because now I notice that my bluetooth wireless mighty mouse is acting funny. It doesnt track properly... then again, I've always been having issues with my BT mighty mouse.
Is there a way for me to test whether my bluetooth on the Macbook is working or not?i'm having the same problem too. you might want to use alternative by tether wifi or usb.
it might be 7.0.3 bug -
MacBook Air cannot pair with iphone
Hi,
Once I've configured my MacBook to use tethering with iphone 3GS via Bluetooth. Suddenly it stopped to work. Then I tried to pair two devices again, but simply I cannot.
I open Bluetooth assistant which finds my iPhone, click to connect, then code appears both on MacBook and iPhone, click to confirm, wait 10-15 seconds and get the message on iPhone that it cannot pair with MacBook Air, and on MacBook I receive and error. Tried restarting, turning tethering on and off, etc - no effect.
I thought that maybe there is something wrong with iPhone s/w, but today I checked with brand new iPhone 4 with 4.0.2 SW - result is exactly the same.
Wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse works on that machine without any problem....
Any clue?
Krzysztofyes, but it does not refer to iPhone, while problem is clearly related with MacBook - if I could pair another iPhone without problem, then the problem would be within one particular iPhone, wouldn't be?

Is iMessage free if you text between iPhones using AT
Confused on a few things. I have the iPhone 4 with 3G. I don't use my phone all that much...use iMessage approx. 3x/week, and I listen to iHeart Radio at home on wifi. This is my issue: I got a notice that I was over my data usage and will be billed $15. My questions are...is iMessage free when you text between iPhones on AT&T? Does IHeart Radio use data? I feel that I might have my settings wrong because my sister says she uses iMessage all e time and NEVER goes over her data. How can I check my data usage so I don't go over again? Thanks so much for the help!
It would be hard to imagine breaking your data plan with iMessage, unless you are passing some massive attachments.
On the other hand, iHeart radio is like Pandora, I think, and streams the music constantly while running. I wonder what happens if your wi-fi drops for a second while you are running that. Will your phone jump over to the cellular connection to keep the app running? If it does, that could easily explain the data overage.
You might want to play around with disabling cellular data when you know you will be parked under wifi for a while.That way, if wifi does blip on you, you don't start munching on your data plan. -
Hi
I bought an iPhone4 from leading electronic device dealer in UAE three months back and using a pre paid mobile line in it. i use once in a while my email through iPhone, but i haven't used last couple of weeks internet. Today i have received so many calls without any interruptions. Suddenly when i am looking to iPhone nothing was coming in the display. Then i tried to make calls to the number which keeps ringing, but i cannot interact with it. No buttons (either Home button or power button) responds me, provided the battery is almost fully charged. My iPhone serial no. is 811121V8A4S and P/N is MC603AE/A.
Appreciated if any solution is advised as soon as possible.
Thanks

Your problems sound like windows problems, not hardware problems -- are you running XP or Windows7? If you google based on your OS, there are threads to be found on slowing down the start menu behaviors. -
Group texts with iPhone and Android
I made a group text with 17 of my friends, some on iPhone and some on Android. It started out as one group text, thenme and a couple of other people found that it was creating different group texts. These new group texts wouldnt have certain people in each, there turned out to be about a total of four different group texts going on. What is a probable cause of this? And is there a way to fix the problem without making everyone turn to a third party app?
Group texting is not one of the iPhone's stronger features. Group texting among a mix of iPhone and Android users is frequently a less than satisfactory experience. I'd go with the third party app. GroupMe is a nice cross platform app. It's free. It lets you mute certain groups if you don't want to be bothered for a while.

Developing applications with iPhone using Mac Mini PowerPC G4
I'm wondering if I can use a Mac Mini PowerPC single core to develop applications with iPhone. Based on the Apple's website http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/ the Mac OS Leopard general requirements are:
-Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
-512MB of memory
-DVD drive for installation
-9GB of available disk space
Any thoughts on this? Thanks in Advance.You need an Intel-based Mac with Leopard to use the iPhone SDK:

Slow Internet connection with IPhones using airport extreme
My Airport Extrem works fine with IPads and Mac Book but not with IPhones (very, very slow). Any advice?
Its Pretty simple if you need to change the network password on the wifi Just do a soft reset
To do this you need somethign small and skinny like a bobby pin then look at the back of the airport extreme for a tiny play button below that you stick the bobby pin in that for a full second.
Then go to your Pc go to aiport utility double-click your aiports name then go to the base station tab and you can change your password.
Having worse problems still?
Then you need a hard restart to do a hard restart (like last time) take out something small and skinny (such as a bobby pin) and look behind your airport for a tiny play button then right below that there should be a hole or a button use the bobby pin and stick it in the hole and leave it in there for 5.7 seconds then take it out and it should be rapidly blinking.
Then after it finishes blinking rapidly you need to set it up again like you did when you first got it. -
Hello,
I have successfully synced my older model iPhone to the LaCie external where all of my music/podcasts reside for the past year or so until a couple weeks ago.
Now, I get an error that says "The disk could not be read from or written to." I think that message refers to the external LaCie drive, which is about 2 years old. All my contacts and calendars that reside on my main hard drive successfully sync.
I have run Disk First Aid on the external LaCie and it says there are no problems. I have the latest System software. I have the latest iTunes and iPhone software. I have done a "restore" on my iPhone. I have tried not syncing podcasts. I have tried not syncing music. Nothing seems to help, I still get the error message.
I have a strong suspicion that the problem resides in the LaCie external but I'm not certain, because I can play the music on that drive and can copy files to and from it. I just can't sync to it with my iPhone. Before I go ahead and replace it with a new external, are there any other troubleshooting steps I should take? I'm thinking this very same problem could occur on the new external drive?
Thank you.I had this same problem where iTunes would say "Unable to load provider data from Sync Services."
I have since figured out the fix for it, however, I cannot take all of the credit since I adapted the solution that works for Mac OS X and made it work for Windows Vista.
So, here is the fix (for Windows Vista):
You need to make sure "Show hidden files is enabled" first
From Windows Explorer, go to "Organise" > "Folder and Search Options" > "View" > "Show hidden files and folders" > Apply > Okay
Now:
Go to C: > Users > Your User Name > AppData > Roaming > Apple Computer
We need to delete the folder in the Apple Computer folder called SyncServices. (You could just move the folder to the Desktop in case you wanted to keep the folder, but after we delete the folder and re-plug in the iPhone, iTunes will rebuild this folder anyways).
If the folder doesn't delete, then we have an application that is open that is using that folder. Otherwise, if it deletes without any problems, go ahead and reboot your computer. Go back into the Apple Computer folder and verify that SyncServices is still deleted. If it is, go ahead and open iTunes and plug in the iPhone and the problem is gone. MobileMe will sync with your computer again and the errors in iTunes will be gone.
However, if the folder does not delete on its own, then we need to stop the process that is using it.
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and open the Task Manager
Find the process called SyncServer.exe and end the process.
Now that the process is stopped, the SyncServices folder should delete without any problems. -
IChat cannot communicate with iMessages using Bonjour.
We are trying to setup an iChat system in our office, but having trouble with compatibility between iChat and iMessages, specifically when using Bonjour. A Bonjour List can open and shows buddies, but when we try to chat between computers running 10.8 and above and those running 10.75 and below, it won't work. Please advise.
Hi,
This was using Bonjour.
I have used AIM and Jabber accounts across them as well in separate tests.
I am the Admin on all three computers.
when I set them up I used "Ralph Johns" as the User name.
As a consequence all three were names as "Ralph Johnss Computer" when looking in System Preferences > Sharing. (yes certain OS versions do silly things with names that end in s)
Sine ce then I have made sure they have different names so that they appear in the Shares in the finder.
The G4 tower is in fact "Ralph G4", the iMac is "Ralph's iMac" and the MacBook Pro is "Ralph's MacBook Pro" which also distinguishes it from my son's MacBook Pro ("xxxxxxxx's MacBook Pro").
That is to say that each computer has it's Own Name to use with Bonjour as well as it User logged in to the Mac having his or her own My Card in the Address book or Contacts app.
As I said (well I hinted really) I have also tested in Tiger (the G4 used to have multiple boots up until recently.)
Although Text Chatting is fine Video and Audio chats are more difficult.
In the testing I did do before the drive failed I always had to Video Chat Calling from the Tiger end (G4)
I have seen people report issues when using an Address Book held on a Server where the My Card is then generic.
I do not know enough about Server sets up s to help resolve that.
Try posting in the Server Communities.

else if element is "222" then
set find what of find text preferences to "222"
set change to of change text preferences to "TWO"
set myFoundItems to change text
display dialog ("Found : " & (count myFoundItems) & " occurences of " & element)
end if
end repeat
set find text preferences to nothing
set change text preferences to nothing
end tell
Can you hel me?
Thanks in advance.Hello, I have a couple of questions for you… How come you have strings in text frames… Would you not be better off using labels for this…? ( thats how I would do this ). Off the top of my head I think you will need to remove any text content from the frame to be able to change it's content type… only then will you be able to place a graphic… How are you associating your strings with the required image files… Do you have this in some extenal file Excel or FMP.

Microsolft 2003 calendar not syncing with iphone (using itunes)
Basics: I have Win XP Pro, I use Microsoft 2003, I have an iphone 3G, and I sync my contacts, calendar, and notes using itunes 9.0.3. I don't use Outlook mail and don't sync using MS Exchange -- I just connect my iphone to the computer using a usb and sync with itunes.
Up until a week or two ago, I had no problems syncing. Now, while contacts and notes syncs fine, calendar does not sync at all (in either direction), even though itunes says it's "syncing calendar". I know this is not new (I see many posts about this), and I have scoured the discussion pages for advice already and tried everything I could. I looked at the following apple troubleshooting page and tried everything there: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692. Specifically, this is what I have already done and nothing has worked:
* I uninstalled the newest version of itunes (as well as quick time, bonjour, and the other software components that apple recommended I uninstall) and reinstalled 9.0.3
* I uninstalled my Outlook 2003 and reinstalled
* From itunes preferences, under devices, I "reset sync history" (and I have continued to do this before syncing after I try something new)
* From itunes help, I ran "diagnostics" for "iphone sync tests" and no problems were noted. I have done this several times.
* From within Outlook help, I ran "detect and repair" and no problems were noted
* From within Outlook tools and advanced options, I clicked the "COM add-ins" button and removed 3rd party software
HOWEVER...the apple troubleshooting page referenced above suggested syncing content in a new user window, and that DID work! Moreover, when I copied my original Outlook.pst file to the new user account, the trouble starts again and no calendar syncing. And to continue the test, when I remove the original Outlook.pst and put back the new Outlook.pst file in the new user window, it works again. And for the final test, when I copy the new user Outlook.pst file to my main/real user account, the sync works perfectly. All this indicates the original Outlook.pst file is corrupted.
HOWEVER, Apple offers NO advice as to what to do next. The following is quoted from their troubleshooting page:
"Once you are logged into the new user account, create a few test contacts and/or calendar events in your compatible application of choice and attempt to sync that data to your iPhone or iPod touch. Does this newly created data sync properly? If so, you likely have an issue with your content in the original user which you will need to isolate."
Sooooo...what to do now? How do I "isolate" the problem any further?
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!After fiddling a little more, the following fixed my corrupted outlook.pst file:
1) I made a backup
2) In outlook under file, I exported the calendar to excel
3) In outlook under file, I imported the calendar back to outlook
And voila, it worked. -
Can't create text with PHP using imagettftext [SOLVED]
I think that after the upgrade of PHP to the modular one I can't create text using TTF fonts. Before I file a bug report could someone confirm if it works or not for them? I might just have screwed something in my box.
This code should create a text image and display it in the browser (it assumes you have DejaVu fonts in the default directory):
<?php
// Set the content-type
header("Content-type: image/png");
// Create the image
$im = imagecreatetruecolor(400, 30);
// Create some colors
$white = imagecolorallocate($im, 255, 255, 255);
$grey = imagecolorallocate($im, 128, 128, 128);
$black = imagecolorallocate($im, 0, 0, 0);
imagefilledrectangle($im, 0, 0, 399, 29, $white);
// The text to draw
$text = 'Testing...';
// Replace path by your own font path
$font = '/usr/share/fonts/TTF/DejaVuSans.ttf';
// Add some shadow to the text
imagettftext($im, 20, 0, 11, 21, $grey, $font, $text);
// Add the text
imagettftext($im, 20, 0, 10, 20, $black, $font, $text);
// Using imagepng() results in clearer text compared with imagejpeg()
imagepng($im);
imagedestroy($im);
?>
Could someone with an up to date php with GD enabled tell me if it works or him/her?
Thanks.
EDIT: Ok, I solved it. The error reporting is turned off by default now, so I was not getting any error. After turning it on I found out it was related to the open_basedir directive being enabled now in php.ini. Turning it off allowed me to access the TTF for drawing text.
