Cannot transfer movies from iPad

I downloaded a movie on my iPad 2 yesterday and want to transfer it to my PC, yet when I plug in my iPad it syncs it but no movie.... I right click on the iPad and click "Transfer purchases" but still nothing, in fact it quickly says preparing to sync and stuff and then back to the apple logo at the top. Whenever I click this video part at the bottom usage bar gioes down to virtually zero, but the movie is still on the iPad. Please help me!

Since you are a developer or beta tester you need to post this question in the developer forum and report the issue. This is what beta versions are meant for, to discover issues like this and then fix them.

Hi, I recently bought a Macbook Air and have been trying to transfer the apps from my iPad 1 to it unsuccessfully. I've been struggling for over a week now and it started off well then stopped at an app, so I deleted it from the ipad, and then after that it would stop at the next app in the list. I've deleted like 11 apps so far from my iPad but it's not helping! I tried to transfer from iPad onto my old laptop (windows) and I realised it's stopping at the same app. I freed up space on the hard disk but still nothing. I've made sure that the itunes is authorised with the correct account and done everything. Rebooted the ipad and the computers.
I can't upgrade to iOS5 untill I have all the apps installed. I'm making the Macbook my main computer and will eventually stop using the other laptop so am transferring everything over. I've done alot of searching on this forum and I haven't found a single solution to this issue. It's very very irritating. Could somebody please help me out here as I'm reaching the end of my tether.

Try this, if you have not already. Connect the pad to the computer. In itunes on the mac, open the file menu on the top, and click on transfer purchases from......
Then on the summary tab for your device, click on back up to this computer.
If you have a bunch of pictures, open iphoto and bring those up while you are at it.
Just to make sure everything is working, do a sync.
Then, start the upgrade process. You need to make sure your itunes version is 10.5, if you have not already done so. Good luck. The process can get frustrating when there are a lot of variables in play, such as wswitching computers.
But once you get it right, the upgrade is fairly painless.

Cannot remove movies from ipad under normal conditions with itunes

Have three films loaded into ipad mini but i cannot remove them. Two are in my musi/itunes/movies directory on my pc but a third is on the ipad but not on my portable. if I try to download them afresh from the itunes store they just get added again to the storage and i run out of memory. These fims seem to have been loaded in a pevious version of the ipad ios system.
Is there any other way to get rid of them as connecting by usb only allows access to the photo library.

Cannot delet movies from ipad air 2

I go into movies, press edit and delete the movie, it does not show up in 'usage' but it is still taking up storage space.
If I go into iTunes I can see several movies and TV programmes that are supposed to be deleted but are still on the device but I have no way to delete them.
I have hard rest the ipad several times but it makes not difference.
This is the first time I have had this problem. Maybe user error?

Found a solution.
Log out of iTunes store and log back in again!

ITunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.

I have an iPad Mini and iTunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.
'Manually manage videos' is ticked but then after each sync attempt it goes back to being unticked.
'Sync only checked songs and videos' is also ticked and remains so.
When I choose the movies to put on the iPad, it gives me an indication of how much space I have (enough), lets me sync and then goes back to zero.

FYI, I searched the side pane here after asking this question. It seems someone gave an answer that worked for me. I could not drag and drop a pdf from the desktop into iTunes or the Ipad2 directly for whatever reason. However in iTunes on the main menu under Files>Add, I could navigate to the desktop and add the pdf that way, then sync Books with the iPad. This worked!
I've attempted in the past to drag and drop videos, etc into iTunes and the iPad with no success. Somehow it never occurred to me to add them this way. Doh!

Rentals on ATV cannot be transferred.
The 2nd and 3rd gen model do not have accessible storage. Some movie purchases are stored in iCloud (if you live in the US) where you can reload in iTunes on your computer)
If you own the 1st gen aluminum model then it should be set to sync

Have you spoken to Apple support - clicking on the 'Set up 3 questions' link under Security in your account page should allow all three to be set. Use iTunes Account page link on your PC, then sync by hardwire when finished. If you have icloud, backup to icloud afterwards. Switch back to iTunes on your ipad (connected wirelessly or by carrier) and try a purchase you want. If still having problems it sounds like a server issue at Apple's end.

Where are these movies? what format do they have?
You'll need to Import them into iTunes, and sync them through there if they aren't in itunes already.
Yoiu may need to convert them to a playable format for the iPad. If its a video format itunes support, you ncan make playable versions for iPad from within iPad.
Alternatively if you find a Video App such as Moli Player you can import them into the App through iTunes File sharing as well without having to change their format. Moli player is capable of playing many types of videos and audio formats.
